We are long time Choice Reward Members (Diamond Level). We occasionally choose to stay in their budget motel (EconoLodge) when traveling through a place. That was a mistake here. The desk clerks -- you can only go into a telephone booth size foyer for checking in or out -- barely speak to you. Certainly no "thank yous" for being Diamond Members, etc. Check out the photos we posted -- overflowing garbage everywhere, dirty bathrooms, walls falling apart, broken furniture, etc. Linens and towels appeared to be clean. Shower had great pressure and plenty of hot water. Had to wait a very long time to check out...no one would come to the desk area. All in all a VERY DISAPPOINTING Choice motel stay. read more

This hotel met my expectations in terms of what one can get for the price. If you want an economic stay while looking for 500 thread count sheets and Egyptian cotton towels, then this isn't it, and may I add that it may be time for self-reflection. Check-in: Quick and efficient. Room: Spacious enough for 2 adults and two dogs. The furniture was not dusty and the linens were clean. One of the quilts had a cigarette burn but I could tell the quilt was washed. No need to throw away an entire quilt for a small burn spot that won't affect my sleep. The towels looked clean but I recommend bringing your own. I used the hairdryer and it worked perfectly well. It was also convenient to have a clean and functional fridge and microwave. AC: It cools off perfectly and it wasn't noisy. Noise: It was quieter than expected. We did not have issues with loud guests, car alarms, or loud music. Food: Nonexistent at this time. The breakfast area continues to be closed because of COVID. Pets: This hotel accepts pets for $20/day per pet. However, it is not clear what the fee is for. There isn't a designated pet area and no waste stations. Bring your own disposal baggies for your dogs. Customer Service: Good enough but can improve. Although I wasn't expecting Disney-level service, there are still a couple of things that cost nothing yet they make a difference. There were no Hellos, Thank yous, or Have a nice day. I called soon after getting to my room to ask for a couple of lightbulbs, batteries for the remote control, and a hairdryer. They were brought promptly but it was odd that I was the only one doing the talking. Things were handed to me and the guy would just turn around and walk away. I walked to the lobby to request more toilet paper, which was provided by a lady that did not say a word. I called during my last day to request a late check-out. The lady that answered coldly said "ok, but no more than 12 pm." I thanked her and she just hung up. While my requests were met, how I was attended was awkward - almost as if I was inconveniencing them. TL;DR: Good enough hotel for a short and cheap stay. Bring your towels and low customer service expectations. read more

Scuzzy room with less than clean linens that smelled like cigarette smoke. Shower didn't get hot. The free breakfast they offer hasn't happened in a while because of COVID. What an excuse. I was waiting for Norman Bates to show up. Left before 6AM. Yuck!! read more

Roaches and Rude General Manager. My husband stopped here as a last resort due to they take pets. Had to switch rooms at 2:30 am, the room was infested with Roaches. Next day the manager calls the room asking about paying pet fee. Which the check-in lady failed to do that. He went down to pay it and my husband said he couldn't believe they would charge a pet after the issues with roaches. So the General Manager kicked him out of the hotel. Lack of English speaking skills. Roaches and very rude. Do Not Stay Here unless you want some hitchhikers going home with you and verbal abuse from someone who is unable to speak any english read more

Stayed at the Econolodge in December 22-23 and received over 45 bedbug bites which necessitated two visits to the dermatologist and a massive dose of Prednisone to deal with the incessant itching. I hesitated to write a scathing review but how can I not? It is now 13 days later and the bites are still present. Only wish I could add some pics. read more

The motel is definitely newly renovated. I was given a room on the corner of a walkway at first. I asked for non smoking and the first floor room was absolutely smoked in YUCK! I had to ask for a new room. Plus that tells me that the cleanliness isn't top priority if the non smoking room wasn't cleared out of smoking. I had to be given a handicapped room because of this. The handicapped room had a seat in the bathroom and the layout was just awkward. The linens and bedding were clean and well folded. The room smelled moldy or musty the odor was off putting. Breakfast from 6-9am was very good. I did not like that the Indian guy who was at the front desk the morning of Sat 11-8-14 stared at people while they ate. During the evening I came to park in one of the two spots near the Econolodge sign up front. An older Caucasian employee parked her car in TWO spots so nobody could park behind her. At 1am when I tried to park behind her and IN the spot she got up from the table in the lobby and stared at me and shook her finger until I moved. I had to park around the corner and move my luggage much further than a guest should have to at 1am because an employee was being ridiculous with a parking spot for her car. read more

I stayed there Saturday and Sunday nights of Memorial Day weekend, 2021. We found cigarette butts in one of the dresser drawers as we moved in Saturday night. Sunday morning, we found a small plastic baggie in the coffee maker that contained several rocks of a crystalline substance of some kind. The substance looked similar to coarse salt or rock sugar candy, but we made no effort to determine what it actually was. When I selected a smoking room, I assumed the smoking would've been limited to tobacco. Monday morning, before we left, we discovered a cockroach on one of the beds. read more

Stopped here for a overnight stay while driving home from Florida. It was located along a strip with other hotels. It was the cheapest out of al the motels. But cheap didn't mean terrible. I was pleasantly surprised that the hotel was decent. The room was clean and no smell. The bed was clean and the sheet were clean. This place was a last resort for us, as we were exhausted and couldn't keep driving. We stopped and got a room here. They gave us a smoking room because we had a pet, which was whatever. But it hadn't been aired out. The room was absolutely disgusting. The bathroom shower curtain had mold all over. There were filthy hand prints and toilet clearly hadn't been cleaned. There were towels all dried blood stains. Sheets had flicks of dirt and fresh yellow spots. There was a dusty/dirty cobwebs in the corner of the ceilings. Checkout the photos I posted. Apparently they had renovated some rooms, ours was clearly not one. read more

I only stayed for one night but very good for the money, good rooms, pretty much excellent. Rooms were just redone only 9 months ago, very nice staff and I had room 119 1. 60$ for 2 adults, 2 queen beds non smoking, great for the price 2. Nice rooms: flat screen Tv's, control of air conditioner/heater, beds are extremely comfy, table and chairs for dinner, iron board and iron 3. All around food and stores! Popeyes, Dairy Queen, ect and Walmart is only a few miles up highway 17 4. Bathrooms are extremely clean, very nice looking, showers work great, gives free soap, lotion and shampoo 5. Breakfast was nice, waffles and eggs and cereal and much more 6. Ice machine to our convience. (We had a cooler and needed ice every morning) Great stay for travelers! Seriously! Worth the money, definitely will tell people to stay! read more

Do not stay here! There's cockroaches!!! Me and my husband stayed here 4 nights while waiting for our villa in the Koa campground and what a mistake! The first impression was that the room looked nicely remodeled and yes they do offer full breakfast. And even though it might be chaper than other places the fact that there's cockroaches makes it not worth it. I woke up the last two nights to use the bathroom and I saw about 10 cockroaches each time. Also the door handle kept electrecuting us and even after letting the manager know about this issue, she did nothing about it. I simply wouldn't stay here again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

My husband and I travel back and forth to Florida about 5-6 times a year from Virginia and we stop about half way going down and coming home. We don't need a fancy place with lots of amenities just a CLEAN and comfortable room to sleep in! We've been having some terrible experiences lately and getting very frustrated. Finally we found this place!! Who would have expected an Econo Lodge to be so nice!!! Our room was very clean and we had a firm king sized bed with wonderful linens! Didn't need the fridge or microwave but they were there if you did!! A big screen TV, shampoo, lotion and a coffee maker plus free Wi-Fi! We've marked this on our radar and will make this our stop next time going down!! Hope we can find one going back home as nice. read more

Stopped here with my family for a night. As soon as we entered the room, my sister in law pulled back the sheets and layed down. Within SECONDS bed bugs were crawling all over her. We immediately scooped up my nephew and made a mad dash for the office. Bugs in hand! The hotel clerk became defensive and denied any awareness or complaints. Needeless to say we did not request further lodging. We left terribly angry and itchy. read more

Not a good experience. Was looking forward to a nice inexpensive overnight per online reviews. We checked in got our keys and went to the room, parking lot was well lit but right away we had a super drunk guy smoking outside next to our room. Opened the door to the room and was nearly knocked out by the smell. Not sure what exactly it was, maybe a very strong cleaning agent over another indistinguishable odor. We walked in and walked out, no way a person could sleep in that odor. Front desk was apologetic and understanding gave me a key to a new room. I thought I would give it second chance. Opened the door to our new room and.... there was already a guest in it!! Mortified I shut the door went straight to the desk and asked for a refund. We were given a full refund. The only good thing I can say about the place is the front desk person was kind and obliged. Spend the extra $80 and go across the street. read more

German cockroaches in our room! Called the front desk, and they couldn't have cared less. We had to unpack everything in the parking lot to make sure no cockroaches came home with us. Dank, musty air (we turned the A/C down to 64 degrees to get the air moving and reduce the awful smell). Sink faucet leaked all over the counter. Stinky well water from the sink and the shower. Damp smelly sheets. Ill-kept and not clean. If I could, I wouldn't give it any star rating. Just plain gross. For $100.00 a night, stay somewhere else. read more

This place is a rip off. Room stank of smoke, we requested a non-smoking room. Was quoted one fee at check in and in the morning the price went up $20! I would never have stayed there for that price. We were told the tax was not added last night, even though both people told us the quote included tax. In the morning a different person was working the desk and blamed the night people for not knowing what they are doing. We overheard he telling a similar excuse to the person before us.
