This should be a zero star. On 08/29/22 my parents, my daughter, and I needed a place to stay for one night on our way to Nashville, TN. Having traveled all day, we checked in at 7:40pm, played with my 1-year-old daughter outside for some time, then began unpacking our car. We had a significant amount of luggage because we traveled from the East Coast. However, while unpacking we noticed the room is extremely small, there was extensive floor damage, the bathtub did not have a stopper so we could not bathe my child, there was used toothpaste all over the shower curtain and bathroom wall, the walls of the main room were covered in unknown substances, it was bug infested, and my parents had a cockroach in their room. Knowing the dangers of a cockroach infestation, we immediately began packing our things back into the car and returned our room keys to the front desk at 8:20pm. We confirmed our check-in time with the desk clerk, she specifically confirmed to both me and my father that we were there for a total of 40 minutes. Ten of those minutes were spent in the actual room. We let her know that we could not stay in a dirty, pest filled room with a toddler, especially one located next to an abandoned building with people coming in and out of the woods next door. It was not only filthy, it was dangerous. I took photos of the rooms and we filed two requests with Agoda (the booking company) to waive the room charges, as we did not stay there. While mine is pending and being escalated, my parent's was denied because the hotel is BLATANTLY lying, telling the booking company that we were there for two hours. This could not possibly be an error, this is a LIE. This morning I outreached to the property to get our official check-in time for 08/29 because that is in their system, and not something they can fabricate. I have an email with my request to waive the hotel fees timestamped that same day at 8:23pm, evidence that we were there for 40 minutes maximum. The hotel clerk told me I was a "smartass," and hung up on me. Each time I or my parents tried to call back to get the check-in time she hung up on us, before eventually threatening us, saying she'd call the police and telling us to "come back to Kingsport," which was an obvious physical threat. I suppose we shouldn't be surprised, the first clerk we dealt with is a liar. It makes sense that the second would be a psychopath. I have contacted Agoda and Choice Hotels (the chain supporting the Econo Lodge) and they are escalating in every way possible. I have no faith that our money will be returned because there is no shred of "customer service" to be found with any of these entities because the hotel is independently owned and operated by thieves, but I am leaving reviews to ensure nobody else endures the abuse we have. This hotel is not COVID safe, as it is clearly not cleaned. Word to the wise - DO NOT STAY HERE. Not only was the 40 minutes we were there a nightmare, but the aftermath trying to deal with their "customer service" has been a nightmare. Expect to be sworn at, hung up on, and threatened. If you value your safety and health, stay FAR away. And if the owner or a representative from this property comments on this review saying they will "try to do better" and are "so sorry we did not exceed expectations," know that's a lie, too. The people they have at the front desk are rude and inconsiderate, they block requests for LEGITIMATE refunds, and are only in it for the money. If they were in it for the customers, they'd treat them better.

They had an outdoor pool that looked nice but we didn't use it. They also had complimentary breakfast but we also didn't eat it this morning. My only complaint.... Housekeeping kept knocking on our door at 830 when check out was not until much later Our kids were out of town with family and this was our chance to sleep in but housekeeping had other plans. My advice... do not forget to hang your do not disturb tab.

Enough so that it's my main hotel wherever I visit Kingsport. Location - 5 out of 5 - beautiful views of the mountains but also easy access to the highways. There are restaurants and fast food nearby if needed. The building - 4 out of 5 - well maintained and clean. The rooms have reasonable wear but were in good condition. Comfort - 3 out of 5 - about what you would expect from a hotel bed and pillows. The room I stayed in this time (415) was rather large which was nice. Room amenities - 4 out of 5 - basic amenities such as microwave, fridge, coffee, and basic toiletries. What I really liked was the number of outlets. A total of about 10 in the room and 2 on each side of the bed. Also had basic USB in at least 3 of them (no USB-C). Though I didn't use either, they do have a pool and gym. Service - 3 out of 5 - everyone that I came into contact with was friendly, but then again I didn't come into contact with many people. Food - 3 out of 5 - basic breakfast food, nothing flashy. Always have hot options as well as cereal, yogurt, fruit. They switch up the hot options for those staying longer than a night. If visiting Kingsport, I highly recommend staying at this hotel.

This had the opportunity to be an outstanding review. We…read morewere in town for a funeral and as Hilton honors members we usual stay with them, but having our last few stays not measuring up we decided to try the Choice privilege loyalty program for the first time. In making the reservation their system defaults to the day you make the reservation and after resetting this twice for our arrival date unbeknownst to me somehow after the payment was made it defaulted back to the day I was making the reservation not the arrival date. When we arrived at the hotel the next day we were told we didn't have a reservation and that we had " No Showed " the previous day. No worries after a brief phone call to the manager or owners we were going to get a discount. Well the "discount" was higher than the price that I had received the for the prior night. I was then told there was nothing they could do. After talking with another employee and finding out that the hotel was less than half full the night before, I realized that they really didn't loose anything. The room never had to be cleaned, no extra electricity or water was used no one was turned away, no money lost. Heck even the ice in the ice machine had stayed the same. Considering the circumstances the right thing to do was to thank me for being a new choice member and just move our reservation and apologize for our loss. At the very least give us a discount for the room since we had already been charged for the night before. Instead, in addition to loosing a family member we felt the additional sorrow of being gouged and taken advantage of. Not only were we paying for another room but it came at a higher price. Now on to the room, dirty, mold in the bathroom, cracked ceiling, peeling paint, TV volume not working on the bedroom Tv and to top it off toilet paper stuck to the wall in the bathroom. I'm guessing from the previous sucker who got taken advantage of. By the response we received I know this will not mean anything to the owners, but I don't think the Choice privilege program is for us. Obviously it puts profits ahead of everything else. Including cleanliness. Being retired and traveling we spend an average of fifteen to twenty nights a year at hotels. And you guys alone have convinced me to never stay with Choice again. In one of my wife's worst times, instead of allowing me to be there and fix the problem, and complementing your hotel. You took advantage of the situation and turned me into a sucker. In the situation I was in had so hoped for a positive outcome, but it was not to be. But congratulations you made the money. As our dearly departed had always said " it is what it is, move on to something positive" , and surround yourself with genuine people that care. For the benefit of future travelers I have included pictures of what a screw the customer, make as much money as possible hotel looks like. Good luck to future guest, as my heart goes out to you if you have to stay here.

There were two TVs in the room, one in front of the couch and one in front of the bed; however, only one of the TVs worked and there were no local channels only cable network channels and made it very difficult to find out the local news, traffic conditions, and weather conditions. Bed was fairly comfortable, too firm for my husband's preference. The air conditioner did not work properly it would not stay at the temperature we set for the room. We had to constantly get up in the middle of the night to reset it otherwise it would revert back to 78 degrees which is too hot for us to sleep. We probably would not stay here again.

Would be rating 3.5 if possible. Wrote a long, detailed review last night yet Yelp didn't upload…read moreit. Googled hotel prices & Super 8 popped up @ $54/night + taxes; given my past experiences with Super 8's I figured it was a great price for a decent, safe place to stay. When all was said & done, the total on 1 night came to $84.76(!!!) which surprised me but it was late, I was tired & had 3 hungry kids. Get to the room & expected the yucky closed-up hotel room smell but was nearly shocked to find what seemed to be a recently updated, well cleaned, fresh room! Fancy pictures, wide clean looking beds, pretty "hardwood" floor (which is not as cozy but MUCH cleaner than 20 yr old carpet that's seen millions of feet!!)...the bathroom is a bit, er, cramped but the room itself is spacious & big enough for my family of 5 to not be stuck up each other's butts. Plus: cable! (no HBO which was a let down but I'm an ID gal anyway ) Breakfast is the usual fare of cereal, toast, waffles, juices & coffee (tbh was hoping there'd be some eggs/sausage/hot items like Comfort Inn but no huge loss)...the exterior grounds are clean, well kept & swept daily; building upkeep & repairs are obviously done bc there isn't broken, trashy looking stuff around. Despite Lynn Garden's reputation & close proximity to the Heroin Hotel (Westside Inn), there isn't a bunch of riff-raff loittering around or near the property. One downfall is no pool but there is some grassy area for kids to run/play & get some excercise. The staff has been 99% great! The check-in girl was pleasantly indifferent, the housekeepers don't bother you if the 'do not disturb' is out; the manager (Jeff perhaps? Nice guy with glasses) has been very gracious, pleasant & patient with us..he stays on the staff to make sure everything is getting done (saw him room checking yesterday)..he even vetted out my husband (who works out of town & wasnt with me @ check-in) when he asked for a new key to make sure he wasn't some stalker coming for my kids & I (I am being a little jokey but in all honesty it was a move I really appreciated!). The only negative encounter I've had was with one woman when we had a payment mishap & she was quite abrupt, acting like I was trying to hide out in the hotel for free or something (). The location itself is okay..yes, the turn in is awkward as heck but it is right next door to Dollar General, Walmart Grocery, several fast food places & gas stations. Just a few minutes to either downtown Kingsport or Mt. Carmel/Church Hill. Overall we're very pleased with our choice & stay here! Pro-Tip: if you're going to stay more than a night or 2 don't hesitate to ask if there is a weekly rate they can offer..most hotels do this if you ask.

Located adjacent to Dollar General and residential space, its a little tucked away and off the road at an awkward angle in between E. Stone Drive and Lynn Garden. When you exit Stone, you have to make a sharp U-turn almost into the Dollar General parking lot to access Super 8. The room itself isn't bad. Its not new, yet not terribly old. You can tell that the furniture is slightly dated. I stayed on the second floor within the rear of the property, which allowed for greater privacy. There is plenty of parking, and the WiFi speed was good. Breakfast is pretty much coffee, juice, waffles, cereal and toast/cinnamon bun items. The rate was reasonable at $65. Given its location and the winter storms that shut down access into both Bristol and Johnson City, I considered the room rate to be good at the times of my stay. I greatly appreciated the customer service given by the employees, in addition to the GM, Mr. Jeff Pecor. He really looks out for the guests. While he has staff that completes regular housekeeping & night audit duties, it was welcoming to see him assist his staff members by shoveling snow while also engaging guests in a friendly manner. One very professional GM that I appreciate. Overall, I would rate this property a 3.5, yet Yelp won't let me do that. I hope that they could get a few more breakfast items rather than having the bare minimum continental breakfast standards. The rooms aren't bad, yet could be better. While there are other hotel/motel options further down the road (i.e, Red Roof Inn) as well as into Kingsport, this Super 8 is an okay option if you want to stay close to the main hospital area (1 mile away) as well as main shopping access that you would find on E. Stone.
