I had to wait in line for a little while,& it felt like everyone had the same idea @ the same time. That being said, despite the crowd, the store itself was well-stocked & organized once you actually got around the aisles. Food galore w/ fresh cold cuts,salads,veggies,meats, & anything you could think of. They even had roasted chicken & freshly baked bread. 1 thing I'll say is that I didn't expect the bathrooms to be so clean. W/ how busy it was, I honestly wasn't expecting much, but it was actually spotless,smelled like Fabuloso, & usable. It didn't feel neglected or overwhelming, which made a difference during a hectic visit like that. Overall, it was a solid store experience considering the rush. A little chaotic, but still functional, stocked, & surprisingly maintained in the areas that matter when a place is that busy. It was great to pick up some snacks for the road What surprised me was how similar the offerings here were to a typical supermarket in the states. I have tended to live in places with large Puerto Rican populations, so perhaps I'm used to offerings of produce (stuff like platanos, recao, etc.) that are more typical, but I was sort of surprised to find just about the same produce offering here as some of the stores I shop at back home. I found this a little disturbing because we're on an island in the Carribbean, a fundamentally different eco-zone, able to grow very different sorts of things...I'd expect to see more different types of tropical fruit, and fewer things like apples and pears...apparently people ship apples and pears and such really far so that people can eat them in the tropics...why they do so beats me, because I think the apples that get shipped long distances tend not to taste very good. Some (not even most) of the product packaging was in Spanish or bilingual, but there were a lot of the same products and there were not really all that many local brands and locally produced products. The gentleman was very friendly and patient as I kept adding donuts and pastries to my order. The two loaves of bread were hot and fresh. The donuts were delicious. The cafe con crema was very good, as was the behemoth of a cinnamon roll that I ended up sharing with five other people. This place has a line down the street every morning. Now I know why. The supercenter was very large and had most items for everyday living, at prices that I'm assuming locals find acceptable. It is two stories, with a multi-level parking garage below. The first floor is mainly the grocery store portion, with the upper floor being the typical 'Walmart' discount department retailer items, connected by a cool moving ramp (travelators) that allows carts to be brought along as well. Later learned that the wheels are locked not by magnets, but by a mechanical system where tiny grooves in the wheels interlock with the moving meta track, to make the cart immobile while on the track. I tried it out and it definitely worked as advertised. The location required a car to get there from the cruise ports, thus were not really used by many tourists/visitors when we got there. They did have a small tourist/souvenir section upstairs, but there was nothing that our group wanted, and prices seemed similar to the many shops in the tourist section of Old San Juan. We did buy a small bottle of locally produced vanilla, and did find that the games section had Pokemon cards for sales, that we took advantage of. Payment was through a self-checkout area, and my Walmart+ membership was recognized via my entered phone number, delivering the receipt via email. There are 13 Walmart supercenters in Puerto Rico, with this 150,000 square feet one opening in 2013. Our private tour guide did mention that we were the first group of hers that specifically asked to stop by a Walmart. I joked that maybe on our next visit, she could take us to a Costco nearby on the island.

Water was available in plastic bottles, individual rolls of toilet paper, lots of packaged food items, meats, and overpriced strawberries ($10 a carton)!! It's in a convenient location near the square in Isabel II and the service was good. Most employees also speak English.
