This was my first visit to Cashiers, NC and was excited to explore the town. This little shopping center was my first stop. I went into Nora &Co and the lady working behind the counter never looked up. I said a friendly "Good Morning " and was returned with an unfriendly reply. Almost as if I bothered her. I looked around the store was very cute. I told her how excited I was to be there for the first time. I asked about the layout of the town and where most of the shops were. She seriously looked annoyed (or that I wasn't good enough to be in there) and said "there is a rack outside with a magazine that has maps". Wow! She missed the perfect opportunity to say welcome , we are glad you chose to come in and to also give information about the town. It that point I decided not to purchase anything and leave. It was very uncomfortable. The other shops were all very nice and friendly

It's a great store to pick up a cute little gift for someone or just a fun accessory for your home. I deducted 1 star because they have the most unfriendly staff I've ever encountered. I've been in this store multiple times and they have NEVER once greeted me upon entering, don't ask if I need assistance, and they always look bored and distracted sitting at the checkout counter usually looking at their cell phones. Even when I've made purchases, they hardly look up at me; just ring me up and sit back down. It's kind of a bummer because it's such a bright and cheery store and the staff is a total downer.
