With just a few quick messages back and forth she was able to create a semi-custom basket for me - adding some items to one of the existing baskets - and get it to my friend by noon the next day! I tried Harry & David first because I thought a big established corporation would have exactly what I needed. Wrong! Over 150 choices and no anniversary baskets? Nope. Custom order? Not possible. So then I searched local shops and only found florists that do some gift baskets primarily stuffed with flowers and that just wouldn't do. Then along came Melissa who actually answered the phone herself as opposed to a robot operator who "may be recorded for training purposes". Score! Her phone etiquette quickly established a sense of rapport as she calmly answered all my questions with a polite "Why of course Mr. Wilson, no trouble at all." Melissa made me feel as if I were a lifelong customer already. I was allowed to custom build my own basket with a detailed list of items in a golden anniversary theme tailored to my parents favorite things. When I told Melissa that my mother is a florist and has very discerning taste, she reassured me that a photo would be sent via email with invoice for my inspection before delivery took place. WOW! I didn't even have to ask. Of course I was happy with the results but my Mother proclaimed "It was the most beautiful basket I have ever seen" upon arrival. The basket was sent early, with delivery confirmation, to the hotel so it would be placed in the room before check in. My parents called right away to express their excitement about the basket. They were amazed at how even the prepackaged items were individually rewrapped in decorative fabric to hide ugly labels. Melissa really went above and beyond to satisfy the need for a perfect gift when I could not be present to celebrate with my parents. I wish her shop was close to Chicago so I could shop frequently. Thank you Melissa for the wonderful experience.

They also have a great greenhouse and sell other items such as potting soil, planters, containers, fertilizer, etc. I saw plants that I'd never seen before. Such a great place.
