I just completed my CCW course with John Lewis at NFI, and I can honestly say he was one of the…read morebest instructors I've ever had. John breaks everything down in a way that's clear, practical, and easy to understand--whether you're brand new or already experienced. He doesn't just teach the material, he makes sure you actually get it, especially when it comes to safety, responsibility, and real-world application. What stood out the most was his professionalism and the way he kept the class engaged the entire time. No fluff, no wasted time--just solid, valuable instruction that prepares you for both the test and real-life situations. If you're considering getting your CCW, I highly recommend taking the course with John and NFI. You'll walk away confident, informed, and better prepared. 5 stars all the way.

I've been a certified CCW carrier for many years and I've used NFI the entire time. I've recently…read morebeen confined to a wheelchair and wouldn't you know, it was during the time for me to renew my CCW. NFI has the classroom portion of the training available on ZOOM and I was able to utilize that program. The ZOOM call process was simple and the teaching right on par with the in person classes I've taken in previous years. The next day was the live fire range day and I was concerned about traversing the grounds at the gun club where this training was held. My concerns were for nought as staff was very helpful in ensuring that I could access my shooting lane and helped by making a couple of trips back to my vehicle to ensure I had all of my necessary equipment. I specifically had Emily as the range instructor and her techniques and directions were exceptional, not to mention her one-to-one assistance was greatly appreciated. As mentioned earlier, I've used NFI for many years and I expect that to continue. If you have CCW certification needs, I can highly recommend NFI.

Patrick is THE man to talk about about shotguns, Marshall Jr is THE man to talk to about reloading, and the others behind the counter have always been knowledgeable about anything I've asked. I have bought firearms from Jones Fort and have also used them as an FFL. In both capacities they are good people to work with. Some shops try to discourage internet purchasing by setting their FFL fees way high (like $100). Jones Fort, last time I did a transfer, was $35 (EDIT: Not anymore, it's $100). Ammo prices are definitely reasonable in comparison to other shops around town. You might find a firearms cheaper elsewhere, but after dealing with the VERY misinformed people at Nice Shot and the lack of professionalism at Great Outdoors (EDIT: closed now), I'll be doing any future purchasing at Jones Fort. If the price is a little higher, I'll consider it worth it so that I can deal with professionals. EDIT: Well, unfortunately Jones Fort now charges $100 for transfers, and for the love of me I don't know why (save my theory that they wish to discourage internet purchasing). If the gun is used, though, and not likely to be found locally, why punish your customers? Does it really cost $100 for the labor and time to do transfers? If so, then I'll gladly pay, but the price seems inflated since I was able to do transfers through an FFL in Sacramento for a third the cost. Grinds my gears; not enough to not do it, but there's goes the fifth star.

They were patient and answered any questions that I had. In store I got to deal with both Jaime and Jacob. Both of these guys were very friendly, helpful, and professional! Had great conversations both times in was in the shop. I didn't experience anything like previous negative reviews indicated. I think they may have gotten a bad rap! All in all a great place for all your firearm needs!
