July 10, 2023, Eco Awning sent Tristen & Austin to install a new heavy-duty retractable awning, complete with a closable trough for $10,700.00. It was great. A neighbor requested to see it as she needs one. Upon opening the awning, it was fine, but it would not close completely into the trough. I called on March 24, 2026, and spoke with Elizabeth, who was very helpful and explained that they were extremely busy and short-handed. It would take two to three weeks to schedule a service call. Adding that she would contact me with the available dates within a week. I acknowledged that the $175.00 fee was okay. Since I did not hear from her by then, I called on April 6, 2026, and spoke with Pilar. She said she would call or text me when a service call is available. I am very concerned and worried that the squirrels could chew this awning. It happened with my old one. I decided a closed trough was the best solution. I am anxiously awaiting a service call. I had a horrible experience with ECCO Sunroom that has literally taken years to resolve because they refused to take responsibility for their poor workmanship. It ended up having to be resolved through arbitration, in which they were found to be in breach of contract. When ECCO refused to correct the wide array of issues they caused I filed a complaint with the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation Compliance & Investigations Division DPOR). Their investigative report/conclusion states, "ECCO Remodeling's actions of installing a ceiling fan that does not allow for a clearance height of 7', pouring a concrete slab that lacks control joints, has no expansion joints to allow for expansions and contraction of the slab, is graded so that storm water flows toward the rear elevation of the existing residence, and does not allow for proper drainage, constitutes incompetence or negligence in the practice of contracting." ECCO still refused to correct their "incompetence or negligence in the practice of contracting" work leaving me no choice but to retain counsel and go to arbitration. In part the arbitrator's finding states: "Consistent with its admission of liability in this proceeding, and the Consent Order, the evidence demonstrated that ECCO breached the terms of the Contract by, among other things, performing work that did not comply with the applicable building code, failing to consider site drainage, incorrectly designing the roof, failing to supervise its subcontractor, and failing to perform and complete the Project... ECCO consistently and belligerently rebuffed Mr. Smith's efforts to bring perceived defects to its attention. ECCO focused on finishing the Project without regard to quality, the building code or Contract terms. ECCO attempted to cover up and disavow its defective work instead of correcting it. The actions of ECCO were willful and the result of bad faith..." Needless to say, I do NOT recommend doing business with them. read more

The worst ... the absolute worst. Please - save your money, time and headache and forget you ever heard the name Ecco! If they can't even spell the name of their company correctly, how good of a job do you really think they are going to do. First of all they are super expensive - just under $100,000 for a sunroom. 3 years later, its not even done. They told us a certain set of design plans and then changed it without telling us - this caused the ceiling to be too low for fans. They poured the concrete for the room up against the siding of the house - I didn't realize it at first but that is incredibly negligent. The whole thing became an absolute nightmare. Ed pled guilty to gross and negligent misconduct with DPOR (the people who manage his license) and the arbitrator had some pretty serious thoughts on the company with the misspelled name - let's see what he had to say ... 1. We used ECCO sunroom and awning recently to build a sunroom. They sent out a design consultant to our home who was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Also he was not pushy at all which I really appreciate. I explained what ideas I had for adding a screened in area in my backyard. He showed us all options and we ended up purchasing a 4 season sunroom. From the beginning, ECCO effectively communicated options and timelines. They also were very responsive when I would check in or ask questions. The quality of work was excellent, the team that came out to our home was so friendly, professional and respectful of our home. The sunroom itself is so wonderful, I'm very happy with how everything came out. It's everything I wanted and hoped for, they delivered exactly what I was expecting and more. They quality of products are excellent and I like that they explained the difference between the different options. I think when starting a big project like a sunroom, communication, quality and professionalism are all so important and they delivered in all of those areas. read more

I bought a 100 thousand dollar sunroom and they messed it up completely. messed up My house , the sun room, and my Yard . He walked in my back yard and told me to my face " that's not my problem now is it " . me and my wife offered extreme hospitality ,love , and care and be treated us horribly. There were multiple things wrong with the project and neither him or his son took responsibility to fix it . They instead left the project and demanded there money at full price! Overall my experience with this company was horrific for the amount on time and money used on this I could've bought damn near a new house but nope they wasted my money on a half as project! Not to mention they aren't even 50 % done and it is falling apart . They poured concrete on my house foundation , my ceiling isn't tall enough to hold the 2 fans that were in the planning . Love the awning. My salesperson was great but she is no longer with the company. I've had the company out for service once while my sales person was still working for the company. The arms were hitting on the frame. The technician took almost 2 hours to make adjustments. Still was not right. Two years later, the arms are still sagging and hitting the frame. I cannot close the awning completely. If I do the arms hit the front cover. The flashing covering the 2 x 8 has separated because they did it in two pieces. I called once over six weeks ago. Spoke to a young lady who told me somebody from service would call me back. Never did. Called back again and she told me the same thing, someone would call me back. Told her I was very unhappy that I had to chase them around for service. That was over two weeks ago. still no response. read more
