I went to EBS Beauty with my sister today, and honestly, the customer service was very disappointing, on the owner's part. MIND YOU THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME HERE EVER! We weren't greeted at the door at all. Which is really fkng crazy because at many other beauty store I've visited, i was greeted first. HELL EVEN AT WALMART & DOLLAR TREE IM GREETED as soon as i walk in!! And FYI, It's not about wanting authority.. it's simple customer courtesy that's clearly lacking! PERIOD. Anyways When we doubled back to the counter, the owner (Eli) was sitting there ON HIS PHONE the whole time and STILL didn't greet us. I asked about the Wheel of Fortune thing because i genuinely didn't know the requirements to spin it, and he didn't even seem like he wanted to answer at first. Eventually he told me when you give the store a google review you get to spin the wheel. I smiled and continued to be polite throughout the duration of our conversation, but he awkwardly didn't smile at me & didn't give me any type of kind customer service gestures; Not even once during the entire conversation. My sister was looking for a wig, so we showed him a picture, and he eventually walked us to the wig area, but his whole attitude was dismissive and rushed. I even kept looking back to see if a line was being produced behind us, but nobody else was where we were at (at that time) so it wasn't like i was holding up any of his other customers... I wanted to ask if I could touch the wig or at least see how it moved.. SOMETHING! but at that point he acted bothered the whole time, like helping us was a chore. I was just trying to get pricing on wig for my lil sister. It's like he was judging us from the start. Maybe because I had on a bonnet and hoodie? Still, that's no excuse for bad customer service. Like maybe get a website made so you wont have to interact with your customers????? ‍ When I asked him about amla oil, AT FIRST i was told, by him, that he was sold out of that specific brand i wanted. Then i asked again, but for an alternative at least & instead of actually helping, he just brushed me off and said, "All the oils are in the middle aisle to the right." Like NAH DUH SHERLOCK but ight. I went to look for an alternative oil and i found it on my own after some time, but the whole vibe in the store was just off, except for the pretty young black lady that greeted me had great energy. Her customer service was warm, inviting & she honestly deserves to be in a better environment and i guess the cashier with A LOT of makeup on her face was alright but I'll get back to her soon. He stayed in the wig section on his phone, he helped the other 2 customers that was there but i noticed he was neck deep innat phone so im already knowing. Idk if he thought we were gonna steal or something, but that guy whole vibe was very weird from the start and had my little sister feeling very uncomfortable. But i needed my sh!t after driving so far to get here anyways ‍ Later, when I checked out, I asked the lady with ALOT of makeup at the register if they had stronger combs because my hair- is very thick and needs something sturdy. Before I could even finish explaining, she cut me off mid-sentence (literally right where i put the dash) and just said, "All the combs are gonna be at 6 B".. i just said ok, and walked to that aisle but gawd damn lady, let me finish talking!?! But that was really it her customer service was okay but let a nga finish... The wigs were not all that either from what i remember seeing. I used to see EBS wigs on social media because a rapper named Mya P (she made the "Fairy" song), used to wear the wigs and promote the store. That's honestly why I gave this place a chance because her wigs looked good. But what I saw in person looked cheaper quality, mostly synthetic mixed with a little human hair.. rough hair ends.. helmet type look. The quality might've went downhill over time. ‍ Maybe because too many people have stolen out of his store because of poor location ‍ that's on you boo, but that's not an excuse to treat new customers badly either. It also seems like the owner is more focused on catching a shoplifter to post for attention!! Rather than actually welcoming and retaining Real customers. It's disappointing, because as a Black woman, I love supporting beauty supply stores PERIODD, but the energy here was flaky and unwelcoming FROM THE OWNER. I don't know if it was racial bias, bad attitude, or just poor customer service, but either way, I won't be coming back unless this review somehow lets me spin that wheel, but I highly doubt it LMAOOO!! (and I'm okay with that) But seriously, it really sucks that I drove more than 20 miles out here. I came in ready to spend money, and yeah, i left that establishment with my $50 worth of products. I bought what was supposed to be Ericka J hair glue from this store and it ended up being FAKE. The glue turned black after a few days and completely ripped out my hairline. I've used the real product before and never had this type of reaction. This is beyond unacceptable. Not only did I waste nearly $30, but now I have to deal with the damage to my scalp and edges. Be careful buying products from here especially anything claiming to be from major brands. I will never shop here again. read more

Any person of color, beware if this beauty supply store. They move into our neighborhood pretending to be cheerful and appreciative of being there until you go in purchase an item that the tape had been removed from and realized that you wanted the item that next to it ( hair dryer), then you go back to the store to let them know the issue and they give you the run around. The manager who said he was the owner states that all sales are final, but nowhere in the store is that listed, it do3snt show up until they print you your receipt after you have paid. But he then go on to say that if the tape wasn't broken then he was willing to let me swap it out for the actual time that I had in my hand before, but after explaining to him that the tape had already been removed and nothing was there but the but the tape residue that was not sticky and barely visible, then he go on to say that HIS policy is no returns, no refunds and that all sales are final and that what he said was law. I then tell him that I wasn't going to argue with him, but I would let the people in our neighborhood to stay away from them and not shop there because of his attitude towards us after me come to them to get something corrected and his words to me were that he didn't care what I did. I'm mortified!!! I went in to purchase my birthday day wigs and was talked to like I was nothing. Let's start from the beginning. I went to this beauty supply store 2 days ago and was amazed at how I was greeted by Jovanna. She directed me to someone that was more knowledgeable about the wigs than her so I went to him and told him what I was looking for. He quoted prices in which I wrote down.. It wasn't rocket science I was only looking at 2 wigs 30inch and 32inch water wave. I specifically stated oh wow, that's only a difference of $20, he corrected me and said no, $30. I informed him that I wasn't expecting to pay $400+ today but I'd be back to make that purchase. Well today was the day... I walked in and was greeted by Jacoby. A bit over the top but he put a smile on my face which made me feel great. Again, I was directed to speak with the same person I now believe runs the hair section. It's funny how I know everyone else's name but his. Let's start by saying the welcoming greeting was not there and instead of feeling like family, I left feeling like the adopted dog that had been scolded. I looked at the same 2 wigs I seen days before and actually was going to buy a second wig for my daughter who had accompanied me. As I looked for the second wig he quoted me new prices. I was baffled so I said that's not what you told me the other day. This man started going in on me. "Why do you people always say that, if thats the case you should've purchased the wig the other day." When I tell you my heart dropped. I told him to stop talking because I was so offended and then your talking reckless in front of my daughter. He continued, now he has a full blown attitude. I walked away from him rambling and approched Jacoby. I thanked him for his earlier introduction and walked out the store. What's crazy is Jacoby was pretty much sealed mouth, listening to how I was being talked down to. I'm not going to engage in bickering over a $30 difference, even though I would have easily spent $800 in the store today. Neither one of them took that into consideration. This store supposedly holds high standards in making customers feel like family. I did not experience that and am sure the way that man spoke to me, will have troubles in their future. Just like he has the sizes on the wigs written on the lace, why not put the price because you are obviously making mistakes, misquoting people and don't like it when you have been called out. You can tell he's all about taking peoples money and doesn't feel the need to be cordial. I've been in the store twice and was never even greeted by him, couldn't even tell you his name. For what I thought would be a great start to my birthday weekend with the purchase of my birthday wig from this store, turned out to be an upsetting experience.
