Well this will be the first negative review I've ever made and probably why the ingles gas station next to it will shut down this gas station. I'd love for whomever to review the tape as well. I walked in at first to get an item for an emergency in case I did not make it up my hill as has happened before and a lighter is something one would need in the snow for getting the key into the key hole the next morning as I found out last year when I hiked four miles home and four miles back early in the morning and my key holes for my truck were frozen. I decided to stop. I wiped my feet as a gentlemen would. I went back outside and decided I may need to use the restroom before driving home. The cashier immediately jumpers at me saying, where are from? I looked up and she responded I'm closing and your wipeong muddy boots on my rug. In my mind I thought I was being a gentlemen by wiping my feet before entering. If it was a house I would have taken my boots off. But I see workers walk in all the time with muddy boots but my boots weren't muddy, they just had snow on them, I practice good behaviour and have never been spoken too like that in my life. I thought by wiping my boots and entering I was being kind. Needless to say I did not enter and will never again. There are three other gas station on that road that have treated me like citizen since they were open. I'm not the type to go out of my way to say something like this online and quite frankly it was a lot of work to figure out how too. I work in hospitality for the Biltmore and I would be fired on the spot for being that rude. I hope he owners are able to watch the video and listen to what she said and how she said it. I know it's snowing but I'm from here and it's not that big of a deal. I didn't know she was closing early and I'm sorry she was shaken but I could have needed help in an emergency and would have walked twenty more miles to get help without being treated like that. So I would like to say to her as she said to me... where are you from, this is asheville North Carolina and it's where people are nice to people and that's the kind of reputation we want to keep. And thanks for following me outside and showing me how to knock my boots on the wall, and reprimanding even more. I hope one day you'll learn kindness in your heart and give love to those who give love to our amazing community. I'm sure there is a job out there were you can be rude to people as well, I hear the DMV here is hiring and it might be a great place for you to be employed. But for the rest of Ashevile, keep bowing awesome and give love always especially during weather advisories. The Belen family is amazing and I want none of this to reflect on the business they run. read more
