I love Ebisu. I love coming to ebisu. They have such fun sales and deals, but even when there's not promotions going on it's so fun to come in and pick out some snacks and drinks and just sample things you don't get to try normally. Ebisu Mini Japan - International Grocery Near Me - Towson, Maryland

I could walk through this store for hours, there is so much to see here. To start with Ebisu Mini Japan is not my scene. I know next to nothing about what I am seeing in here. The parking lot is small and always crowded. It seems when I am walking by there is always an adventure happening in it. I'd suggest forgoing it and just finding street parking or using one of the nearby parking garages. The store has multiple levels inside of it. The first level is toys at the front, food to the back right and health, beauty, toiletries and dishes to the back left. The toy selection is vast with lots of cute Japanese characters. Also extensive is the food. You will traditional American brands (Kit Kat for example) in flavors that aren't typically sold in regular American stores. My only qualm is I wish I could easily discern what is vegan. I have not tried some things I'd be interested in purchasing because of that. The second level is beauty supplies. My wife has been purchasing beauty supplies from Japan for a while and was excited to know she could purchase some of them locally now. The third layer is stationary items and school supplies. There are a lot of cute notebooks, pencils, pens and erasers amongst other things. The final layer is all claw machines. I find myself browsing more than buying at Ebisu Mini Japan. That is what ultimately keeps this a three star spot. read more

Great addition to the area. Was once an Urban Outfitters, transformed into a Japanese retail store. The space was open and vibrant. My wife and I were on our way to dinner at Kpot and decided to browse the shelves inside Ebisu (first time). It was a pleasant experience inside the store, stumbling across some snacks I grew up on. Definitely grabbed a few bags of crackers and chips as well as drinks. The cashier was friendly and we had to add a pack of Pokemon cards at checkout. Would definitely come back to spend more time exploring this store. read more

Great store with a slightly different product mix than the Ebisu in Rockville. There is a tiny lot with free parking so plan on either paying for a garage or making another stop to get validated. Calling this a 3-story store is a bit of a stretch but it does have 3 levels with toys, snacks and frozen items, housewares, lots of cosmetic products, stationery items, and claw machines. Plenty of space for browsing and everything is organized and easy to find. Located in a cute neighborhood with lots of other places to browse and get a quick bite - fun to make a little trip of it! read more

I randomly walked here because I just so happened to be here. I have been seeing a lot of these shops popping all over the area. To me, I am not really interested in the goods here for purchase, but just want to be inside to window shop. I've been to the Ebisu in Rockville before and prefer that location. This store was unorganized with boxes all over the place and staff were not friendly. The food and product selection in Rockville is way more diverse too, which I thought was odd because this store is bigger. While I browsing some food items, one of the staff members yelled "What the f*** is wrong with customers!?" because some items weren't put back on the shelf correctly. He proceeded to insult and complain about customers loudly which was super unprofessional. I get it, I've worked retail before and had to clean up after people, but don't yell about customers in front of other customers. Made me kinda uncomfortable to be there. Another big issue is selling figures that go for $10-$13 dollars elsewhere for insane markups at $50! I don't know what gives them the right to rip people off. Overall decent products but I have no need to go back. read more

Even found one of the "action figures" in barnes and noble out of all places, for 10 dollars less. It was cute, but a one time deal for us. read more

Great shop! There are so many different things inside that i am like a kid in a candy shop. Everything from snacks, to funko pop, hello kitty stuff, to household and cooking supplies. The prices are reasonable enough and the staff is nice enough. It is located in the old urban outfitters location on york road and the space is utilized very well. One of my new favorite spots! read more

First visit to this place and there was a good selection of snacks and various dish ware and health products. There was a small parking lot but no spaces were available. This store is located across the street from LA fitness in a building that used to be the urban outfitters. Inside there's actually a lot of room for all kinds of cool stuff. Stationary, stuffed animals, tons and tons of food items, toiletry. Everything Japanese themed, mostly cartoons. Super friendly staff behind the counter. Great selection. Great prices. Visited yesterday (Sunday) so there was free parking in the back. The parking in the front was full. The store has three floors- first floor is figurines, drinks, snacks, food. The second floor is health, beauty, kitchen wear, cold beverages, and makeup. The third floor is stationary and claw machines. The claw machines was pricy $2-$3 for one try. The store was busy with shoppers and the employees were working quickly to replenish the stock but mainly in the snack/food area. The employees were friendly and hard working. Given that all of the products there were from Japan, I assume that is the reason for the price. For example, a tube of Pringles will cost about $4.99. My daughter picked up a frozen item- pudding that looked like flan and was in these plastic containers. Sadly two of the there cracked and open so we had to toss them. Overall, my experience was good and I would go back if there was a desire to check out more interesting items. read more

I really wanted to like this place, and honestly, will still probably go back, but-- I went with my young daughter, who had a potty emergency mid-shopping in the food section. Like others mentioned, they did not allow us to use the restroom, and the staff person I asked did not make any suggestions. She just said "no" and walked away. I took my basket to the cashier and told her I'd need to return after we found a bathroom for my daughter. She was friendly enough, to her credit, and directed me to the Chipotle across the busy street. Luckily, we made it in time. When we came back, other staff followed us around the store, obviously monitoring us as potential shoplifters. (I'm a yt, late 30's woman with a kindergartener shopping for stationery for the new school year.) They followed us aisle to aisle, standing at the end of each aisle, very clearly monitoring us. Kind of unnerving, and I could easily imagine that the experience could be worse for other people who may be more likely to be overtly profiled. Overall, it felt very unfriendly. There was quite a bit of inventory, but it did feel expensive, even considering the import cost, and there weren't a lot of the items we were looking for. After having shopped at Don Quixote and the like in Japan, this store was disappointing, off-putting, and underwhelming, but it is the only thing like it nearby, and my kiddo loves anime and Japanese culture, so, I guess they've got a customer until there's a better option. read more

Shopping with family and had to use restroom. I'm very visibly pregnant. Noticed the restrooms are password coded. Asked store employee if I could quickly use. Told not for private use and when asked if there was anything in vicinity, was dismissively directed somewhere outside to a different store that's not even visible. O M G! This place is a amazing! There were many things to see! I can't cover it all because I haven't even seen the 2nd part of the store yet. They have all these cool types of Japanese snacks and meals that you can try out and a diverse selection of drinks and noodles! They have different anime key chains and lego sets and action figures! I wasn't able to see it all (like I said) because I was in a rush! But overall it's pretty good it gives big lofi and peaceful vibes and it's pretty cool! If you're from japan I highly recommend! This location is just awful the staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. The staff parks in all the parking spots in front of the store. I know when I worked retail you were expected to park somewhere further away and leave spots open for paying customers. They will tell you the restroom is out of order or unavailable which in Baltimore county if a store has more than 3 employees the restroom should be made available for people with medical conditions. read more
