Don't be hipsterphobes, people! Embrace hispters! (Well...not literally. Ok, maybe literally. Hugs are always fun).
Yeah yeah it's easy to throw around words like "hipster" and "trendy" and "yuppy" and "fixed gear" etc etc etc, but people are people and whatever the "target demographic" of Ebenezer Place may be, I for one love that it has personality, individualism, charm and a theme of sorts to unite it all together.
Adelaide, being the teensy place it is (not bagging it out), can be kind of well, not generic exactly, but a lot of places can look/ feel the same. Understandable: we don't have established neighbourhoods/ areas like, say, London does, where every new area feels completely different and unique and home to certain identifiable kind of person. It's cliquey or snobby it's just a side effect of having a huge city, like attracts like.
I like this! And until recently Adelaide has lacked this (again, not bagging it out). But lately certain areas are getting personality, areas like Queen St and areas like Ebenezer Place. Tucked in from the main drag of Rundle, it's got a rad mix of apartments (yes I'd like one please), coffee shops, beer, food and fashion.
It has cool shit. It's warm and welcoming. You can get beer. Yep, I like it. *hugs a hipster* read more
