A new Adelaide City Council initiative to encourage use of the North Terrace boulevard and institutions thereon during days of fine weather is the installment of deckchairs around the grassy areas near the Adelaide Musem.
I have seen a similar programme implemented in NSW in Sydeny Square and for the most part the chairs seemed to be implemented by the homeless. Whilst I am all for providing the homeless with a comfy place to have a snooze, as opposed to the hard wood of a park bench, I don't know if that necessarily was the government's intention.
