We took a chance on this place since it's close to us--we pass by it all the time and figured we'd finally try it. For $70, we definitely expected more than what we got. The food was edible, but not nearly as enjoyable as we'd hoped. First off... naming a dessert "Big Dig Chocolate Cake" and then giving such a small slice is honestly ironic. Since we ordered takeout, my husband and I planned to share it, trusting the name--but it didn't live up to that at all. Update: just tasted it and it is not good at all. I ordered the Nonna's lasagna, which was a good portion size, but it was overly salty and lacked that classic Italian seasoning flavor you'd expect. My husband got the chicken parmesan and was pretty disappointed--the sauce tasted like it came straight from a can rather than being homemade. Unfortunately, this wasn't a great experience for us, and we won't be returning.

First time here! The food was delicious but the service was lacking a bit in the drink department. Our waitress was very sweet and smiley. However, We had to order a water twice and a beer twice before they got to our table, assuming they forgot to bring them. We came at a time it wasn't that busy at first so we thought turnaround time to get drinks and dinner would be quicker as well however, it was tasty! Chicken piccata was creamy and lemony jsut as it should be. Kids pizza was perfect for my daughter. Husband loved his veal parm and my friends enjoyed their meals as well (pictured). Will be back in hopes the service improves in the future.

Lunch Steak tip plate with side pasta

Went for lunch around 130pm and ordered the Steak tip lunch plate after reading reviews on Yelp.. I was not disappointed the Steak tips were delicious , great flavor, seared/grilled to perfection. I got pasta as my side dish and the pasta itself was cooked al' dente though the sauce was a little watery (probably from not draining the pasta enough after cooking ) but still had a good flavor. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was good, Ambiance was comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would recommend Eatalia and will be back

Medium half cheese half pepperoni pizza ($14)

We stopped by after catching an early Tuesday afternoon screening of Sonic 3 (on Christmas Eve). We'd been wanting to try the pizza here for a while, so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. When we walked in, the place was mostly empty, with only three other tables occupied. A sign near the entrance instructed us to "wait to be seated," so we did--awkwardly, for quite a while. Another customer arrived not long after us, and we all just stood there, waiting. The kitchen is visible from the front door, so staff could clearly see us, yet no one came over to greet us or even acknowledge our presence. Even on a busy day, you'd expect at least a quick word or gesture, but there was nothing. Eventually, a young woman appeared with a bright smile and told us to sit wherever we liked--making the "wait to be seated" sign feel unnecessary. I wanted to take advantage of the happy hour specials ($5 Tito's and well cocktails) and tried to order a margarita with well tequila. Oddly, the waitress told me this wasn't allowed--something I've never encountered before. She seemed confused, so I settled for a tequila and pineapple juice instead. It tasted fine, but nothing special. My son ordered an apple juice from the kids' menu. For our meal, we decided to share a medium pizza, half cheese and half pepperoni. Wait time for a standard pie was as expected. The pizza arrived hot and fresh. At first glance, it was extremely greasy, but the taste was solid. The crust was thin and slightly charred, just the way I like it, with a flavorful red sauce that complemented the toppings well. When I finished eating, I asked for a box. The waitress nodded to acknowledge my request but then got distracted cleaning tables, rearranging furniture, and assisting another table before finally bringing the box over. It felt like an unnecessary wait. One highlight is that this restaurant offers a discount for paying in cash, which I appreciated and took advantage of. I'd consider coming back to try other menu options, but I'd avoid visiting close to a holiday, hoping for a better overall service experience.

Visited on Halloween, fyi. Negatives: -Was not greeted for a few min -We walked in and people were gathering by the bar and everyone ignored at first to the degree we thought we walked in on a private event One Positive: -Service was good Back to negatives: -Food was mediocre at best *plain salad *alfredo was watery and flavorless *the other pasta dish was flavorless including the sausage which is crazy b/c sausage should never be bland Another Positive: -It was clean Don't think I'll be back. Another review giving it to you straight no chaser! Enjoy!

I asked to exchange mine for a mocktail, and ironically, the mocktail ended up being the only thing I actually enjoyed. The food unfortunately didn't get any better. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and it was honestly awful -- completely drowning in butter with almost no flavor. It didn't taste like carbonara at all, just heavy and greasy. The prosciutto and mozzarella was also disappointing. The mozzarella was hard instead of soft and fresh, and the dish overall just wasn't enjoyable. My boyfriend ordered the steak and eggs and specifically asked for his steak medium, but it came out very clearly medium rare. Overall, almost everything we ordered was a miss. For a restaurant that looks so beautiful and has such a nice atmosphere, I really expected the food and drinks to be on the same level. Unfortunately, I wouldn't come back based on this experience.

Now let's talk about the FOOD because everything we ordered was seriously impressive. The guava wings were absolutely delicious. They were cooked perfectly and had that perfect balance of sweet and savory. The flavor was unique without being overwhelming, and honestly, these are something you should NOT overlook when ordering. They were one of the highlights of the meal! The Brussels sprouts were another standout. Perfectly cooked, seasoned so well, and topped with just the right amount of sauce. They had so much flavor that they were honestly amazing even on their own. And I'm always impressed when a vegetable dish can steal the show! The ambiance strikes that perfect balance between fine dining and comfortable sophistication. Warm lighting, attentive service, beautifully plated dishes, and the kind of atmosphere where you can slow down and really enjoy dinner. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Some highlights from the vegan menu: * Melanzane e Zucchine -- warm zucchini carpaccio with pine nuts, crispy artichokes, and eggplant that was beautifully balanced and packed with texture * Barbabietole, Avocado e Cetrioli -- avocado, sliced red beet, cucumber, and orange vinaigrette with gorgeous presentation and incredibly fresh ingredients * Polpette di Verdure -- vegan meatballs made with eggplant, mushrooms, roasted lentils, breadcrumbs, and onions in tomato sauce. Comforting, flavorful, and one of my favorite dishes of the night * Risotto ai Porcini e Spinaci Profumato al Tartufo -- rich porcini mushroom risotto with spinach and truffle oil that felt perfect for an upscale Italian dinner And the dessert absolutely deserves its own moment. The vegan ricotta cheesecake with fresh berries and house made sorbet was outstanding. The house made ricotta had an incredibly light, creamy texture, the berries and sorbet kept everything bright and balanced, and the crust was honestly one of the best parts of the dish. Cafe Sapori also has a very extensive wine list that really elevates the whole experience if you enjoy pairing wine with dinner. What makes this place especially great is that it works whether you are fully vegan, plant curious, or dining with non vegan friends. You can enjoy a full upscale vegan dining experience while others order from the regular menu, which is what helped make Cafe Sapori such a well known and respected restaurant in the first place. Also worth mentioning: the prices felt very fair for the level of service, presentation, ingredients, and overall experience. Huge appreciation to the staff for making plant based dining feel fully integrated into the experience instead of an afterthought. Can't wait to go back.
