We checked out "Eat Greek" at the Corn Hill Arts Festival. The food was incredibly fresh and piping hot. The lamb gyro was everything I would want -- crisp veggies, creamy tzatziki, and yummy meat wrapped in a fresh pita. The falafel gyro was equally good. The dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) had great flavor but the rice was a bit more chewy than we are used to. We still enjoyed them. Overall this was a nice lunch at a festival. We'd been meaning to try it, but just never have. We will definitely return when we see this colorful, fun truck! read more

I was so excited to go here, so when it was nearby, I went. It was rather expensive, and not at good as I'd hoped. I wanted the chips and tzatziki, which they didn't have that day. I got a lamb bowl, a falafel bowl, and 2 spanokopita. We split one, and planned to eat one the next day. The bowl was a lot of food, so i actually ate the rest of that the next day, too. It had a lot in it. The spanokopita was strange, and not like any I've ever had. It was almost more like a dessert than food, which isn't what I'm used to. I was at a festival and decided to eat here because the line was moving faster than the one I was in and the dishes coming out of the window looked good. Plus, since this is a Rochester food truck and I'm in Syracuse, figured I'd try something new. The line did move quickly and service was efficient. Off the bat, prices seemed on the high side considering that Greek/Mediterranean food tends to be on the affordable end. But, the portions I saw coming out looked big and I was a little biased by hunger so I shrugged it off. Here comes the worst part-- when I got up to the window, I ordered my Greek fries, and the cashier told me $10. The board said $8. There was a loaded option that was listed at $10, so I clarified-- not the loaded, and she said yes, $10. It was later in the night, so by this point she had likely served hundreds of these, so I don't think this was a mistake, unless she had a mental lapse. At this point, I didn't feel like arguing or standing in another food truck line, so I just paid it. However, ever since, it's stuck with me. On principle, I think it's pretty unprofessional to advertise incorrect prices on your food truck. In all honesty, I probably would've picked something else if I knew the price because realistically, it's fries. If it had been a WHOPPING portion or topped with super premium ingredients I might understand, but it was a normal side of fries with tzatziki and feta. If they had recently raised the prices, they could have at least put papers with new prices over the old ones so that the menu was accurate. Like I said, super unprofessional and makes me not trust the business, definitely not a great first impression. It's totally still possible that this was still simply a cashier mistake, but either way, not a great experience as a customer for me. The fries were fine. A bit bland combowise-- felt like they could have used one more ingredient to add flavor. The fries themselves were crispy and delicious. I was feeling too salty over the checkout snafu to really feel excited about them, but had that not happened I still feel like it would have been a "just fine" experience. Flavorless, poor quality (likely precooked, out-of-the-box) ingredients, swimming in a pool of sour cream sauce with enormous chunks of onion. I have to admit, wrapped in its bright and classical Grecian blue and white coloring with map and large mural, this is an attractive truck to the eye. Hard to miss, and easy to find yourself walking up to, its no wonder there was a line! I had the good fortune of having this truck at our office and I'm glad I went, as were my insides. Obviously, I didn't walk up to it to marvel at the truck, I came for the foods! A relatively condensed menu, typical of a food truck, but damn they pack in a lot of magic in a small space. The menu includes classic staples such as Gyros, falafel, dolmades and pita chips, but also includes spanakopita, baklava and gyro bowls! I ventured off the hot and fresh gyro train and ended up honing in on these delights - spanakopita and Greek fries (dayummmm). For those un-indoctrinated, the Greek fries are ridiculous. A solid serving of old school crispy fries with a generous amount of tzatziki and feta - literally a party in your face hole! The spanakopita - interestingly spun up like a coil that makes you imagine something not for consumption, yet a delicious and light / crispy fillo dough makes you forget all that. The solid amount of spinach and feta running through this coiled magic, with a side of tzatziki and salad is more than enough. Stopped for a Gyro (I love them) yesterday at Park Ave festival. Menu is small but all the popular Greek foods. Price was $10.00 for Gyro so fair. Server was nice enough, food prepared hot, delivered quickly, so no complaints. Gyro itself was ok, mostly lettuce, not a lot of dressing, tomatoes, or onion so kind of bland but good. Overall I would get one again, just cause I love them and their priced right with good service, but taste & flavoring was kind of eh? read more

They came by the neighborhood for a few hours. The falafel gyro was fresh and tasted great, and the falafels were still warm. The Greek fries were seasoned well and went great with the feta and tzatziki. 5 stars for the food, but a bit pricey. Would definitely eat again! read more

Sorry, Eat Greek, tonight you sorely did not meet my expectations. This evening I chose you, over all the other food trucks at the Rodeo. Your Greek salad with steak was tasteless, sans the one or two olives. Even your Greek vinaigrette was shy and unremarkable. A few tasteless slices of tomatoes and a chunk or two of onion could not muster any zing. A sprinkle of feta and a single pepperoncini were the only things preventing me from jumping off the Greek Salad Bridge. The most tragic element, however, was the "steak." Other Greek salads, like ones found at Aladdin's, have large chunks of recognizable, savory seasoned beef. In contrast, yours was a very unsteak-like shaved steak. It was void of any spices or juices, and rather chewey. I trashed the meal half-eaten, and moved on to another food truck for solace. On the plus side, your employee was friendly. But otherwise: nah. Honestly, pretty disappointed with the food from Eat Greek. They had the truck with the longest line, and I love Greek food so I figured I'd try their food out. After waiting forever in line, I ordered a Greek Bowl with Steak, which comes with seasoned rice, the meat, and lettuce and tomatoes, as well as some pita bread. The cashier told me that they were out of rice, but they would replace it with fries which I suppose is fair. When I got the bowl, the "steak" was just ground beef. It wasn't any sort of steak, it had been ground as if for a patty. The pita was rock hard and inedible. The tomatos had green all over them, they weren't ripe, and the lettuce was pretty bad too. Overall I'm super disappointed with the experience, my girlfriend and I waited 20 minutes for the food and spent $20 for two bowls that were pretty awful. I wouldn't recommend. read more

A very good addition to the Rochester food truck scene, Eat Greek offers a really tasty, fresh, and affordable menu. The Greek fries are a must - order as they are perfectly crispy and smothered with tzatziki sauce, feta cheese, and topped with oregano. Delicious! The salads are also really filling and can be topped with lamb, chicken, steak, or for us vegetarians out there, really good falafel. Kudos to Eat Greek for perfecting falafel which is usually a giant, dry ball at most restaurants, but this falafel was just the right size, crispy and flavorful, and complimented the salad really well. Eat Greek catered a company event and between all of my coworkers, we sampled everything on the menu. The gyros, of course, were a big hit and my carnivore friends were pleased with the quality and taste of the lamb and chicken. The baklava was really excellent as well and the service was friendly and fast. The only item that was a bit lackluster were the dolmades which we described as large and flavorless. Overall Eat Greek impressed everyone and I'm looking forward to trying them again around town. They would make an excellent lunch choice. read more
