She was very responsive and answered all my questions. Denise Kirkendall was instrumental in receiving a WIOA grant. Signing up for the program was easy. HSTI even provided all the textbooks, uniforms and even a brand new laptop. But I have to say the star of the show is Mr. Mike the Pharmacy Tech instructor. He has made learning fun, relatable and manageable. It's great for me who is someone that has been away from the classroom setting for almost 20 years. I look forward to our once a week class. I'm excited to be in the Pharmacy / Medical field. The future is once again bright.

I spent most of my time with the audio CD's while in the car and doing the practice tests. I focused on the test questions I would get wrong and study those until I got an almost a perfect score. At the end of the day its up to you to make it happen and everything you need to pass is available with this company. We hired Shelly (EDFIN) last year to resubmit our son's FAFSA application…read more We paid EDFIN $3250 in fees and saw no increase in benefits after Shelly ensured us that she would be able to get more aid for our son. The conversation that we had with Shelly is the main reason we moved forward with her service, along with many positive reviews and a referral. After not receiving any benefit from Shellys re-submittal, I asked for a refund of $1625, half of her fees, as we were more than willing to pay for the time she put into this. (Note, it took about 30min to fill out the FAFSA when we did it) Shelly told us she does not offer refunds, but did offer to resubmit the FAFSA for us this year for free, which we declined as we have no changes to our financials, and wanted others to benefit from our (negative) experience. Now that I know a little more about this process, have spoken with financial aid offices at two different schools, and have read the information on the Federal Student Aid webpage.... I feel like a sucker. With Shelly's education, experience and expertise, she certainly should have been able to tell us by looking at our information and the amount of aid that our son was already receiving, that no other financial help would be available. We provided all information to Shelly prior to her re-submittal. So what gives with all the positive reviews? Keep in mind mine is not the only negative one...LOL. It seems to me that most of the positive reviews come from people who have not filed the FAFSA and did not realize with a little effort and contacting a schools financial aid office, they could of saved the thousands of dollars that Shelly charges and very likely receive the same benefit. I surmise this after speaking with the person who referred us to Shelly and after reading most of the reviews. I would suspect, like us, most families are rushed, unsure, and a bit confused with the student aid process. Shelly certainly uses this to her advantage. Another family that we are friends with also hired Shelly, paid $6000 for their two students, and also saw no benefit. I assume if you have two applications, Shelly waives the $250 consultation fee. How nice. Expect their review soon. If Shelly responds to my review, she will likely say how she lowered our son's SAI number from approximately 110,000 to below 60,000 and this indicates more financial benefit available. While it is true that our number decreased, the two financial aid offices we spoke with told us that our son's number would need to be -1500 to 0 in order to receive any other aid. A SAI number can sometimes be reduced by correcting simple errors on the FAFSA form or reporting financials in a different arrangement, although no further benefit is available. Do a little homework folks, you do not need EDFIN. If you feel you absolutely need help with the FAFSA, there are much cheaper places than EDFIN, or contact your schools financial aid office. They will help you. Every time she begins to struggle we take her back and it's only a matter of time before her confidence is through the roof. She even received a math award out of her whole 6th grade glass. This program has very reasonable pricing compared to others that I looked into. Each tutor she has worked with has been professional, punctual, and able to locate her weaknesses in each subject. I (like so many other students, more then half!) found it almost impossible to finish on time because the school was so boring. It took me a year but I managed to finish those boring hours eventually! I wasn't aware that Paul Mitchell existed until after I had signed up here but 16 years later am STILL sorry I didn't transfer there instead despite the fact that it was 3 times more expensive. Well worth it if you ask me! We NEVER had any "clients" to work on so we always had to practice on each other which was terrible because we didn't get enough real experience. My teacher was a very nice woman (the only nice thing I can say about this school! I did like my teacher ok!) and she noticed I was struggling and the school made the offer that I could go to night school if I needed to to get my hours that way. That made it worse! The teacher was only there from 9-5 everyday so I wasn't even being supervised after 5 pm except by the cosmetology teacher who spent her time telling me about her special diet. I pretty much paid them to sit after hours in an empty classroom and they actually let me!! All of this isn't even why I HATE this school though! My real motivation is the fact that right after I graduated I had a baby and became a stay at home mom, so I didn't go for my license but obviously still planned to. About 7 years went by and I couldn't find my proof of hours because they were repossessed in my storage unit so I contacted the school about a new copy of my proof of hours. The snotty woman on the phone informed me that "they are legally required to only hold onto those records for up to five years and it had been seven, but since it had been so long I should probably go back to school anyways since I probably don't remember anything anyways". First of all, this is NOT rocket science and I have a photographic memory so I actually remember 3/4 of what I learned despite the fact that it has been 16 years now! I recently reached out to the state board because I apparently forgot to finish paying the last quarter of my student loan off (darn) and have been denied financial aid to community college today because of it. While I was checking that info on the government website it showed that I attended the school from 2003-2004 and in fact graduated, but naturally that is NOT enough proof for me to take my test! The only proof I can use is from the school, who apparently wiped their asses with it years ago. Thanks guys! Btw, I paid a little over $2000 back in 2003, today they charge $10,000! I would rather stab myself in the eye then pay another school like this that much money to "retake my hours" Hope this helps! Stephanie is a great teacher with great attitude. It is very important to me to be learning from native French teacher and at the same time to have fun. She is also providing a great website for students that helps learn faster and more effective. I speak 4 other languages and I have a lot of experience with different teachers. In a very short time, Stephanie has helped me understand some concepts that have been bothering me and holding me back. After returning home, I opened up some of my problem notebooks - and immediately was able to get past a number of issues I did not understand before. The nice thing about Stephanie is that she is so adaptable. She respects my style - and she is able to explain concepts so they are meaningful to me.
