I've sat in The Shop waiting for Rudy's Barbershop a lot. It's expected to be pricey because: 1) It's The Standard. 2) It's in the heart of Downtown LA. 3) They carry unique items. She's been working there a few years now, and she makes The Shop fun.

I picked out two and the girl rang me up. $3.95 please. $3.95?! wow, $2 for a postcard and that's with a 10% coupon. I jokingly said, "wow, you guys have really expensive postccards" as I was paying for it. She said in a very condescending manner, "i'm sorry. i don't set the prices here." Joke! hello?! Eh. LA. The stuff here is pretty nifty but it's nothing that I would pay a premium for. Walk out to Little Tokyo and you'll find the exact same cute stuff for cheaper. They've only somewhat redeemed themselves by having the XX cd available. I love the XX.

The store is located in the Wilshire/Vermont Metro Station + Shopping Center in between the UPS store and Chase ATM/Branch and parking is located underneath the shopping center (entrance is on Shatto St.) and the first 30 minutes are free. I bought some boots that I bought a little over 3 years ago and they still are holding up very well. Granted I don't use them daily, but I do use them when we get rain + cold weather and they are warm and comfortable. Also, this past weekend I stopped by and bought a cute pair of heeled booties for $15.99 + tax. (It was on their front table alongside other very cute boots). They are very comfortable and seem sturdy enough to hold up. **SIDENOTE: They also carry LA Girl Cosmetics (by the front counter) and their matte lip stains are INCREDIBLE! They are about $5.00 but those suckers do not come off with anything. They last a very long time and the color payoff is gorgeous. This store is the only place where my sister and I have been able to find these lipstains. Their return policy is store credit only (i believe) and FINAL SALE on all clearance purchases. Stop by here for some cute shoes or accesories next time you're in the area.

You can pick out the material for your suit, shirt, etc. By far the best tailor around. That is why I've been coming here for so long. Just FYI, I wear a suit every day for work. It is important to not only be comfortable but long lasting. All the suits I have from here are not only comfortable and long lasting, but of great quality. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a custom suit. Well worth the price. Every person needs a suit. Why not get one that will last you for years to come, and made only for you, just for you.

The shop owners displayed a disrespectful and condescending tone towards us, and Mr. Lim's body language gave us the impression that he was not trustworthy. In addition, we would like to note that the off-the-rack items are Asian size, which may not be suitable for all customers. We hope that the shop owners will take the necessary steps to improve their customer service and create a welcoming environment for all patrons. The unfortunate truth is 38 years Mr. Lim hasn't learned to to treated people with dignity and respect. I suggest future customers spend time researching & they'll find several local & online custom suit makers for same price with better treatment. Assumption: I don't want to dismiss the 5 star ratings, but I suspect that at least some of them may be bought reviews. Tip: All suits & shirts are sent to factory outside of US.
