Anyone complaining about her not being open all the time was a very bad year or so for her as she lost her husband unexpectedly and had to work through her grieving process. Those of us that knew her and her husband just backed off a little and gave her the time she needed. She is a lovely lady and a friend now and she is doing well and very busy back to work. I think what turns me off the most about this Vet is a horrible customer service at the front desk…read more I have sent msg's with emergency situations and never heard back. Every interaction is short and rude. If you can even get them to call or text or message you back. Their front desk receptionist & whoever is answering the phone is a very difficult and unhappy woman. I walked in last week as I came through the door. I was greeted by the receptionist, as if I had just walked into her home and was completely unwelcome. I was taken back and said I have an appointment. it honestly was as if I had walked in as an intruder. She said take a seat. There was no smile, There was no welcome in nothing. At that point I should've just walked out... I've had a couple of interactions with this vet and everyone has been disappointing with the staff. However, the vet is great. She's extremely knowledgeable, very kind and seems to care a lot. But it's just not worth getting through the front desk. I would recommend critter care. They are absolutely amazing. Their staff is so kind. Prices are much better as well Example - my last visit to Best Friends I took in a kitten that had ringworm for the visit, ringworm medicine and a dewormer It was $200. Critter, I brought my dog in for an emergency visit (tried to call Best Friends Vet . They never even called me back.) AnyWho, the visit at Critter Care sedation, stitching, medication was the same price $200. I couldn't imagine what that would've been if I would've gone to Best Friends. Also, Critter care has the friendliest front staff when you walk in you are greeted with a smile you are welcomed when you call. They will do their best to get you in and if it isn't emergency, they will find the time. I couldn't ever imagine calling critter care and not getting a response back. I would say best friends mobile vet is more like a wishy-washy run practice with a super negative front staff but a good vet. It's unfortunate She should find better help.

I somehow walked out with a $200 bill. One of the prescriptions was $100. I wouldn't wanna know what their price would be if you had an actual emergency. I'm saying that so you can have the comparison of pricing Critter care is so reasonable. Their front staff is kind every time you walk in they greet you with a smile you are welcomed. A stray cat at work I call Buddy got an abscess on his right cheek and neck. Dr. Val drained it and cleaned it leaving a 1/2 inch round hole through his skin. To keep it clean we had to bring him home . The wound irritated the cat who used his rear claws to rip off any hope of a scab healing over the hole. After a few days he went back to Dr. Val and his wound was again cleaned and his rear claws were trimmed. About a week later I was separating a scuffle between Buddy and our spayed cat "Angel" and I pet buddy on the bed in my room to calm him down when he suddenly bit deeply into the base knuckle on my left thumb. The next day I called and mentioned that bite and asked to see if we could move sooner Buddy's neuter appointment. I was told no. They were concerned about his underweight and overall health and neuter surgery would be too risky this soon. My wife called them not realizing I had. She was told they were very concerned about his bite and I should see a doctor. I have no primary care physician since the pandemic. I have work to do at work... Then I got a text from my Daughter: Go see a doctor Dad... I called Mt. Stuart Animal Hospital and asked what the risks were. I was told a stray could have infectious disease even potentially rabies. I asked why such a cat was allowed to come home with us and was told to wait on hold for the doctor. When she got on the phone I asked why she would send such an animal home without any information about our risks she cut me off saying: You brought the animal here. You are the agent (whatever that means) and rather than unload my mind into the telephone I said: Thank you for clarifying that. Have a great day. Then I hung up. I went to the emergency room and sat there for a bit more than two hours before a physician could see me. They said there has not been a documented case of cat rabies in Washington state since 1978. Go home watch the cat for signs of rabies... Today was Buddy's neuter appointment. My wife took time off work and drove 10 miles home from wok and back to ferry the cat. When she got there she was told the appointment was cancelled by Dr. Val because I was "rude on the phone". They didn't call my wife last week and cancel when the hospital visit was going down. My wife had to drive forty miles and lose two hours at work. This feels incompetent and vindictive. I am happy to find a better Veterinarian. Won't see you Dr. Val. Lou Andrew
