I just want to say thank you again to Harlan Automotive and Mike. Recently I bought a used…read moreMercedes-Benz E-Class in California and delivered it to my elderly mother in Murray Kentucky. The car is the W211 chassis which I've always liked since it first came out. A generally very reliable car. I've been driving BMWs and Mercedes since the 80's and wanted to get her a safe, reliable and low maintenance car. That said owning these cars can be inexpensive but only if you don't let things go too far maintenance wise. You also do need a knowledgeable mechanic and he can save you a LOT of money and lower your Total Cost of Ownership. Before delivering it to her I had my mechanic of 20 years service the car and also had him perform all the minor repairs and work it needed using only new Mercedes parts. Unfortunately a few weeks after being delivered to her the car's alarm decided to fail and began running down her battery silently 3 nights in a row. One of the guys with the service and towing guys suggested Harlan Automotive. I ended up talking to Mike at Harlan Automotive and was very pleased with his technical knowledge and dedication to customer service. He even arranged rides for my mom to get to and from the shop. He fixed the problem the first time for the price agreed, and delivered her repaired vehicle within the promised time window including the ordering and delivery of the new alarm module. I also want to take a moment to address a theme I saw on a couple of other Yelp comments. My sense of things is that Harlan Automotive is an honest shop providing top shelf garage services to drivers who are interested in a fair price to maintain their vehicles. It's not going to be the absolute cheapest place but they're fair, honest, reliable and quality focused. They also stand behind their work and went out of their way to help my elderly mother.

He attended to every nook and cranny on my Mercedes E300 and the car looks brand new. Usually folks only bother to review a business when something goes wrong, well I couldn't wait to write an excellent review. His shop may be a little hard to find but well worth the effort. As I said initially, his detailing is the BEST and well worth having him care for your car. Thank you Zach for a job well done! I will be back, and in the meantime, I'm spreading the word. Also, whereas some places would try to convince me that I needed new tires on the rear, they recognized the value of the tires that it had. It would have been nice to know these fees were going to be charged up front, before making the appointment. An extra, unexpected $30.00 charge on top of the quoted price, is just insane.

Performing my usual walk around the trailer as I do every fuel stop I realized one axle had no wheel, no hub, trashed axle spindle.... No idea when it happened. No indications from the trailer. Pulled at 77MPH the entire time. I serviced all four wheels last Fall and topped off the wheel bearing grease in June of this year. Just goes to show, sometimes it just doesn't matter what you do things just fail. Anyway, after searching we limped our way over to Youngblood RV. After 8 hours with Youngblood's technicians trying to repair the axle we threw in the towel and started the return journey home rather than attempting another 8 hours away from home and then 12 hours back. If you ever find yourself in Mayfield, KY in need of anything related to RV or camping, or grilling, or golf carts, do yourself a favor and go to Youngblood RV. Ask for Trevor Youngblood.
