This place is super easy (for me) to get to its right at Columbus circle & their they are not crowded with people in the waiting area which I appreciate. Crystal is super cool and she takes time to figure out what's going on with you. I only ever go in for sinus issues but lately I've had some weird toe issue (no clue) but she totally helped relieve the pain for a good week. She's also able to really knock out neck pain I get from all the sinus issues. (I'm clearly a hot mess). She's very relaxed and she has a very peaceful energy about her. Paul is also super cool. He kind of reminds me of POE from king fu panda. He's not what you expect at first but after some good training and time spent studying the art, he's actually an acupuncture master. He comes in and he's super friendly and listens to what you have to say but you're thinking there's no way this guy knows the ancient Chinese medicines and healings! WRONG he's so good! Like POE he masters his trade and is able to save the day (well at least my sinus issues - mission complete) read more

I've always been fascinated by Acupuncture and its numerous benefits and have incorporated it in my life for years now. I especially love how it helps improve my sleep and addresses the occasional insomnia (or mind just being restless resulting in being unable to sleep), improves metabolism and weight loss support, gets rid of the occasional colds and allergies, and generally improves my well being. I was looking for a new Acupuncture place and I stumbled Eastgate Acupuncture when I saw an Introductory 3 session with consultation deal on Groupon. I took advantage of it and just completed my 3 sessions yesterday and actually coming back again to continue it next Saturday. I love the location, couldn't be more perfect. They're located just right across the Columbus Circle station, beside a Starbucks and right across the Mandarin Oriental hotel. It's pretty no-frills but maintained well and has 3-4 private treatment rooms, which means you're actually getting some privacy for a good hour or so. I also especially like Carly who since day 1 has been kind, professional, and caring. Even just after one session with her, I immediately felt the difference. I slept like a baby and just generally felt better overall. Each session I actually felt so much difference, that's why I intend to continue and just maintain my overall health and well-being in top condition. I liked this place so much that on my 3rd session, I brought my husband and introduced him to acupuncture. Suffice to say, he slept like a baby the first night and said that the back pain and muscular pain he was complaining about from his workouts were actually gone right away and our workouts today were better too. If you're new to Acupuncture, read up on its many benefits. I'm confident that the quality of your health (if you're all about your well-being), will tremendously improve. I highly recommend Carly and this place. So glad I found them. read more

Eastgate Acupuncture - Acupuncture Near Me - New York, New York

Paul Marks is the absolute best. He really understands acupuncture and doesn't mess around. If you are looking to get fixed and someone who really understands the body - go here. You will not be disappointed. Paul has a 6th sense on how to realign and fix parts of your body that are in pain. I have never been more addicted to acupuncture in my life. read more

I first heard about Eastgate Acupuncture and Paul Marx from my daughter. I had been seeing another practitioner and was satisfied but decided to try Eastgate. What a difference in technique! Instead of doing the same points every session Paul talks to you about how you are feeling and what you want to work on. He is professional, the offices are spotless, but very approachable and sometimes funny and makes one feel very at ease. Over the holidays I did not have any treatments for 6 weeks and regret it. My chronic knee pain came back as well as other aliments. While Paul cannot cure my arthritis he is able to help relieve the pain with his treatments. Highly recommend Eastgate and Paul Marx!!! read more

I've been a client of Eastgate Acupuncture for several years and I love coming here! The staff is professional and friendly. The space has a calm feeling and it's quite clean. I do acupuncture and cupping with Paul and he is outstanding! He takes the time to patiently listen to my concerns and shares his knowledge freely. After treatment, I feel energized, light and relaxed. As an added bonus, I'm able to sleep better too! I highly recommend this wonderful business with great people dedicated to their craft. read more

I purchased a three acupuncture treatments with consultation on Groupon. After reviewing practitioners bios on Eastgate Acupuncture website I called to book appointment. I spoke with Dr. Soo Hee I told her that I wanted to book appointment with her and that I have a Groupon voucher, to my surprise and great disappointment I was told "I don't work with Groupon customers." There is no information on Groupon small print (please see below) nor anywhere on the Eastgate Acupuncture website stating that some not all practitioners work with Groupon customers. If you are looking to purchase Groupon and to book appointment with a specific practitioner you might want to call to double check. Small print: "Promotional value expires 120 days after purchase. Amount paid never expires. New clients or clients who have not used this service in the past 6 month(s). Consultation required; non-candidates and other refund requests will be honored before service provided. Appointment required. Merchant's standard cancellation policy applies (any fees not to exceed voucher price). Limit 1 per person, may buy 1 additional as gift. Limit 1 per visit. Valid only for option purchased. All goods or services must be used by the same person. Merchant is solely responsible to purchasers for the care and quality of the advertised goods and services." read more

I've seen multiple Acupuncturists at Eastgate and they've each been wonderful. They do not rush the treatments and take time to target each ailment with the appropriate diagnosis. It's a calming atmosphere and they truly listen to the patient. They bring a thorough approach to wholistic medicine. The best I've seen in the city so far and great location. read more

Absolutely wonderful. Paul took the time out to explain everything that was going to happen in full detail. I was so nervous upon arriving until we started talking about the benefits of acupuncture and cupping. It was an amazing experience and I will do it over & over again. The location is prime and the level of service is phenomenal. I will continue to come and get treated here! Ps... Ask Paul to give you the clear mind needle read more

My expectations of what an acupuncture experience should be were completely surpassed! Both Crystal and Paul provide stellar service and are truly committed to helping you heal. With a growing interest in Eastern Medicine, I purchased a session on a great Living Social deal and although the voucher had expired, it was still redeemed at full value by Crystal, to which I was pleasantly surprised and so grateful. She understood my desire to improve my health and better understand my body. Paul provided my acupuncture session and fed my curiosity by answering all the questions I had on how acupuncture works. He is super knowledgable and gave me great and helpful information. Eastgate truly embodies holistic health and is definitely a great investment in your overall well-being. I look forward to continuing services here as soon as possible. read more

I broke my hand in August 2010. When it happened, I didn't realize it was broken but I was definitely in pain. Paul treated me with herbs mixed with vaseline, and voila - almost no pain (it did hurt when I put pressure on it) and much less swelling. When I went to my doctor to get checked out, he didn't think it was broken because it wasn't that swollen but did an X-Ray just to be safe. Turned out I had a spiral fracture, which he said should normally have left my hand super swollen and throbbing in pain, but because of those herbs I didn't feel much pain at all and I was able to sleep comfortably at night. I didn't even need to take any aspirin, ibuprofen or any other painkiller. I HIGHLY recommend seeing these guys if you're having any sort of pain issue or if you just want to give Acupuncture a shot. Both Paul and Crystal are very personable and good at making you feel incredibly comfortable, while still maintaining a high level of professionalism - qualities that you DEFINITELY want in someone who is putting needles in you. read more

I had an amazing experience and highly recommend Crystal. I had never done acupuncture before and went on a living social deal. Some of the best money I have ever spent. Crystal was my practitioner, she was thorough and explained how the body functions and manifests symptoms and gave me ways to alter my daily habits to help. The session lasted for an hour and a half and days later my muscles still feel relaxed. read more

Paul was so great at explaining everything to me. The whole process was so calming and relaxing. I have been going to acupuncturists regularly for nearly my entire life. Every acupuncturist has their own style (the art) to their practice (the science). I've been seeing the absolute best acupuncturist (see other review) but she's on maternity leave and she recommended Eastgate. I quickly made an appt with Paul. I was able to have a session with the $50 Groupon deal. That's almost too painfully reasonable for acupuncture in Columbus Circle I thought. But then I realized why. Overall, the location is very convenient for the west side or downtown. The facilities are a stark contrast from the Mandarin Oriental across the street so don't expect luxury to fill the east gate. I'm certain that Paul is extremely skilled and capable. He teaches clinical acupuncture. But definitely a particular bed side manner that may not be for everyone. And being good means busy. You'll get put in a room and the heat lamp and beep! the timer will go on... This is probably not the practice for you if you're expecting to be the only person there or you're hoping for a luxurious room. Probably also not the practice for you if you want in-depth TCM accompaniment with your treatment like a bag of herbs or soup recipes. Many acupuncturists I've been to before will give you a tonic or soup immediately after treatment and or give you a recipe to make at home. Overall, I was very appreciative that they accommodated my tardiness thanks to the subway. But I am disappointed that said they would reach out to confirm their availability on Sundays but did not. (Turns out they're closed.) read more

I love this place, Paul and crystal are truly gifted healers and I've been going for several years and recommmended to many grateful friends too. Only wish they were more affordable so I'd go weekly, pls bring back community acupuncture option! read more

I miss Eastgate Acupuncture! I have since moved out of NYC. I used to see Crystal and Paul for overall health, stress reduction and menstral pains. They are both incredibly knowledgeable about Chinese medicine and how acupuncture treats the body meridians. Crystal has prescribed me herbs and knows all the best tinctures. They are both great people with generous spirits. Would highly recommend them for whatever your needs are. read more

I've been coming here for about 6 months now and I have to say that Crystal is amazing!! I was a first-timer for facial rejuvenation and speaking to her on the phone sold me to try it out. She made sure to explain all the necessary details and really walked me through it. She's pleasant, genuine and really sweet and yes, those are traits I want from someone who is about to poke me with needles - - so it's important that I like and Trust her. If you are nervous about acupuncture but always wanted to try it, please consult with Crystal first. She's always busy so please be patient and you'll be required to book ahead of time. PS. Coming here is like an escape from NY Streets and I always leave feeling so relaxed. Like I can kick someone's ass and still maintain a smile on my face. Jk. :-P read more

This was the first time that I ever spoke about what was bothering me that I felt someone was listening. Paul explained everything in such detail, made me feel heard and helped me to understand how to feel better. I would recommend this to anyone looking to try acupuncture for the first time. I have felt relaxed, calm and happy so far and I look forward to more. read more

I got a 3 session groupon. So far a good experience. I've dealt with Andrew and SooHee and really like them both. I went in for Restless Leg Syndrome amongst a bunch of other things and I have noticed a difference in the amount that I've had RLS the last 3 weeks. I think I will continue with their monthly membership. read more

I have never left a review on any service before but I am just so ticked off by the way that I was treated by the staff there that I got home and I'm going to tell everyone that I can that this place is just the worst. I booked my appointment two weeks in advance because that was how far I needed to find a slot that fit my schedule. I show up for my appointment on time. I was told that they couldn't find me in the system and that it must have been a mistake and that I should wait 10 mins to be seen. Nearly an hour goes by in which multiple people who arrived after me and had appointments after me were seen, I'm told that I'll be seen once everyone else is seen. They then insisted that I didn't have an appointment and it was my fault. Yes, I'm going to show up to an acupuncture appointment for the first time on a whim and just hope that they'll see me if I lie about having an appointment? The more reasonable scenario is that I made the appointment and whoever was working the counter didn't put me in the system. I get that an error is made but to make me wait and then tell me that in fact I wont be seen is simply unacceptable and just shows that they don't care about their customers' time. read more

I've been to several acupuncturists, but no one comes close to Crystal and Paul. They know me and my health concerns very well, and tailor each week's appointment to how I'm feeling at that time. Crystal sometimes incorporates cupping and massage into a session, and there are times when I wish I didn't have to leave. I sleep better and feel better after I've had a treatment. I see Crystal to help alleviate symptoms of endometriosis, and acupuncture (as part of a holistic treatment plan) has kept me off Vicodin and Percocet for six months. read more

I am accustomed to spending hours describing my conditions to various doctors, but Paul blew my mind with his accuracy in determining my ailments before I even had to explain. He is knowledgeable, calming, understanding, and encouraging, with a clear, deep care for his craft and individual patients. Paul put me right at ease during my first acupuncture treatment, verbally walking me through the process and checking in with me throughout. I left feeling calmer than I have in a year, and I am excitedly awaiting my followup appointment. read more

I have never had acupuncture until I received a few sessions to eastgate. A skeptical new customer I was blown away in the first session. My acupuncturist Carly was extremely knowledgeable, soft spoken and personable. Primarily went for for smoking and stress and by my 3rd session I hadn't smoked a ciggeratte in 2 weeks and lost my craving for it as well. I truly recommend going to eastgate to get the results you want especially with Carly ! read more

I started seeing Crystal a few months back when my doctor had recommended I try acupuncture for headaches I was continually having and am now a regular, even though my headaches are gone! The atmosphere is very calming and Crystal is the best at what she does. She knows so much about the Chinese herbs and sent me home with herbal remedies that helped immensely. I have recommended Crystal to some of my colleagues, both male and female, and have not heard a single negative thing said about their experience. read more

Fantastic experience. Paul was tremendously thoughtful and spent a lot of time figuring out what was happening with my elbow. He identified some specific muscles that were contributing to tennis elbow, and after three sessions, it had improved enormously. Since Paul identified the problem for me, I've been able to massage those muscles and prevent any more pain. Highly recommended. read more
