I tried a Chicken Tikka and a Kadai Chicken - Chicken Tikka was pretty nice and not the red colour variety which seems to be the popular one in London at least but this was was very flavoursome minus the colour. These according to me are two of the classic dishes that gives a complete idea about the culinary style of a joint. The Kadai Chicken let me down big time, while was sauce was pretty OK, the Chicken Pieces itself looked and tasted unseasoned. Looked as if few boiled chunks of Chicken were tossed into a premixed gravy. A bit more attention to the Chicken could have changed the character of the Dish. While I was waiting. I saw the owner tending to my chicken tikka and heard him saying in Hindi/Urdu to a staff that "it's a new customer and last thing to do is to serve uncooked Tikka" if had he only checked the Kadai Chicken! I might choose to go back as it looks like a no frills honest food place.

Upstairs seating is far better than downstairs so have always opted for that. Favourites are Chicken Wings, Kebabs, and King Prawn Chilli (make sure you get KING prawn)

Quality/Quantity - What a great find, and this review shows…read morethe positive power of Yelp. We discovered this local restaurant through Yelp, and so did the other 2 tables next to us. We found out at the end of our meal that one of the other tables was also from our hotel, a mile walk away. Overall, I think a simple menu done well. We got everything they recommended including the recommended beer from the table next to us. Plain Papadum & Chutney Tray - A must try! Suggestion, these two items should be together on your menu to avoid any confusion on pricing. The sauces also went well with our entree and naan. Tandoori Mix Grill - Good, perfect amount for both of us. As mentioned previously, we are light eaters, especially when traveling. This entree also came with a very light simple salad. Garlic Naan - I can eat this all day! This could even be my meal. After Dinner Chocolates - A nice unexpected touch. Atmosphere - Small local restaurant. Bathrooms need some TLC, but are functional. Indoor/outdoor dining; everyone ate indoors today. Open 7 days a week. Service - Good, had all 3 wait staff help us. This kind of confused us. They were good at upselling, but all 3 team members tried to upsell us. Not in a bad way, but it kept me laughing. I am a light eater, especially when traveling. They all made light small talk which was nice. It was obvious that everyone eating here was NOT local. They also have online promotions, see their website. Price - 28 pounds + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success, I am so glad that you can benefit from Yelp. See you on our next visit as we were so happy with our hotel we plan to stay there again.

There's a lot of competition for Indian takeaways in the area, and especially online where it's just as convenient to click on one restaurant as it is on another. Hence why it shows just how good Secrets is that I haven't even looked at another Indian restaurant online for what must be at least the last year or so. I'm slowly working my way through the menu, with the most recent order comprising a chicken jalfrezi, paneer tikka, pilau rice and meat samosas. We normally order the paneer, and it is simply excellent every time. Springy fresh cheese, in decent sized cubes, perfectly grilled (I've no idea if they use a tandoor or a grill, but whatever it is - it works. The chicken jalfrezi was succulent, with a rich deep and very satisfying sauce. I really like the little strings of ginger Secrets puts in their sauces, there was some in the jalfrezi sauce this time around and quite a lot in the keema we had last time around. But that's fine, as like I said, I really enjoy it. We were also very fortunate this time around as they delivered much earlier than the estimate. You can't always expect a restaurant to do that, but it certainly gets a thumbs up from me when they do!

The best qualities that define how this restaurant is superior to most others in the local area are: 1. The food is extremely homely in style 2. None of their dishes come floating in oil 3. The spices are subtle, light and perfectly balanced 4. The fragrance of each dish is distinctive and never over powering. We've visited this restaurant many times but tonight we decided to order some food for delivery. Their minimum order for delivery is £20 and they'll go anywhere within a four mile radius. Tonight we ordered botti kebabs (lamb), naan roti, fish tilwali for starters. The botti kebab was lightly spiced and cooked well. The lamb was soft and tasty. We loved the naan roti as it was very soft and fluffy, just perfect. You'll be hard pressed to find naan this good in ANY Indian restaurant in the whole of London. For main couse we ordered a simple chicken biriyani, which came with raita and a side salad. The biriyani was amazing! The rice was top quality and very fragrant, and the spices were perfectly balanced. They included generous portions of chicken in the biriyani. The raita too, was perfectly spiced and refreshing. If you're looking to visit or order delivery from a North Indian restaurant that cooks up a real authentic treat, that makes food that's homely and brought to your table or home in a professional and prompt manner, then this restaurant is for you. This is no ordinary curry house, it's a breed apart. The food you get at this restaurant is what you'd get at a five star restaurant in India and it's of excellent quality - that, and it's a fraction of the cost of a five star restaurant.

I have passed the sign for the restaurant on numerous occasions when driving along Headstone Lane…read morewithout ever really thinking about looking up its' details. So tonight the Other Half said "let's go for something to eat. Where do you want to go?". Now this is a leading question because we eat predominantly Indian Vegetarian whenever we go out to eat. Now I hope you don't think this is cheating but I have a Tastecard so, during the week, we can get 50% off or 2 for 1 meals. So we called them (as sometimes you have to for certain restaurants participating in this scheme) and booked a table and jumped in the car ( we only live live 5 minutes away!). OK, so the signage that I passed was on Headstone Lane. It turns out it's actually tucked away down a side turning called Broadfields. Turning into, and driving down Broadfields, it seems unprepossessing, I mean it's at the end of a a cul-de-sac which doesn't look like it leads anywhere!!!! There was a large gate at the bottom, which was half open, with a large sign announcing Broadfields Country Club and Mumbai Gardens Restaurant. Once we drove through the gates, it was rather hard to work out where we were meant to go. There was a building immediately in front of us (very much the back of it) so we drove to the right only to find that THAT definitely wasn't the front of the building. Turned round and drove round the other side, which seemed equally devoid of life. We parked and walked along the patio and found a door that opened..... into a room the size of a football pitch (ok maybe I'm exaggerating just a little)! It was a really nice, huge room, modern glass-topped tables and pretty, high-backed chairs and three waitresses standing at the back and, er, waiting. We ordered drinks, starters and two curries together with jeera rice and peshwari naan. They ask if you want your food made mild or medium, which was quite welcome. The food was very nice, good portions although seemed all to have been cooked in the same sauce. In conclusion, the food is very nice, the staff attentive and caring. It's a nice venue although the ambience was sadly lacking as we were the only ones there until half an hour before we left. The main shortcoming was the lack of clear signage on the building with regard to parking and to indicate the restaurant entrance. If you didn't know it was there, you would never know the restaurant existed and I don't see how it will stay in business without attempting to advertise and get it noticed a lot more!
