We heard from some friends that it was a great activity and gym, so we gave it a go. I had seen some photos and videos she had taken, which looked fun/cool, but today was my first chance to see the classes live. From the first few seconds, it was clear our son was already part of a community. He just turned 5, and it was so cool to watch him walk into the gym with confidence, fist-bumping and high-fiving other kids and the coaches. I thought I was going to have to coax him into starting the session, but as soon as we walked through the door he ran away from me/into the gym and was ready to go. The class had a mix of ages - my son was probably the youngest - but they all were able to do the class together seamlessly. Every single kid got individual attention, and each set of exercises were customized/adjusted to each kid's abilities. I properly met one coach, Constantine, but not the other one yet. They both were so good with the kids (and both are seasoned boxers themselves - some pretty cool photos/posters around the gym). It was also a legit workout - my son was sweating and completely locked-in/in the zone. It was so ridiculously cool to see. The coaches also are clearly teaching control, focus, and discipline in their practice, but in a subtle, sustained way. It was so impressive to see. While not necessary, the gym and equipment were also immaculately clean. As a side note, the other parents were also so kind. I had my 2 year old daughter with me as well who, understandably, wanted to wander and go up to everyone there, and I felt so welcome as she was met with nothing but smiles and parents in a playful mood. As the class wrapped up, they were prepping for the adult class, which I'm stoked to try out soon. Looks like an incredible workout and a great way to get in better shape. Very much looking forward to it. All that to say, I now get why my wife signed him up and was so adamant about how great of a place/class it is. It's unusual to see ANYTHING that has such high ratings as this place, but now it makes sense. Will be back next week.

The trainers helped us wrap up and guided us through everything. The class itself was challenging, but the energy and motivation from the trainers kept us going--and we felt incredible by the end! They were patient and made sure we had the right technique, especially since it was the first boxing class for one of my friends. We genuinely had such a good time and will definitely be back. However, I can speak on behalf of the kids' classes, and they're great. My son is 6.5, and he's been going here for 3 months now. Not only he loves it, but he's getting very strong as well, and learning self defense. I think most of what he likes is that the classes don't feel like a heavily structured classes run by a drill sergeant. There seems to be plenty of play time with specific techniques taught at the right time, next thing you know he's got some moves. It's like watching a lion cub learning how to hunt through play. I also love Dartanian's approach and philosophy to training, specially kids, competition, self defense and also strict rules, so while kids are having fun, they learn to respect each other, respect the coaches, respect the dojo, and play fair. As far as the dojo, it's big, and has plenty of room in the back of the gym with covered mats and heavy bags, and a sizable set up for cross fit training or "American Ninja Warrior" course as my son likes to point out, and loves climbing the ropes and giving his best on the peg wall.
