I have been a nanny for over twenty years . I decided to try east wind Nannie's for a new job. I filled out a long application did an interview that was in December . Because I've stayed at my jobs for years I didn't have a third reference I no longer had the peoples number so it was a problem. I've seen jobs posted put interested I get nothing so if you are looking care.com is a better alternative don't bother with east wind they clearly don't want to be bothered. read more

East Wind Nannies is unfortunately obstinate and inflexible in how they work with their clients. We used East Wind Nannies to hire a nanny 3 months ago. Just over a month after the nanny started, she told us she had some changes to her personal life and wouldn't be able to nanny for us anymore. When we brought this to East Wind, they talked to her, and it seems like they probably strong armed her into continuing to work for us when she didn't want to. When she quit a few weeks later, East Wind Nannies was unwilling to work with us to find a replacement, demanding an entire placement fee. Their fee is based on a percentage of the nanny's yearly pay, so we ended up vastly overpaying for a nanny that lasted less than 3 months. Despite telling East Wind Nannies I'd be happy to pay a pro-rated fee and continue to work with them for years to come, they refused to work with us, and so now I feel I must warn any potential future clients of theirs - stay away! They pretend like they're a partner to your family, but at the end of the day they just want to make money, and don't care about a long-term positive relationship with the families they claim to serve. read more

Bad experience! Amy does not have a pool of professional nannies but "people between jobs and looking for a better job." First nanny we hired was requesting not to watch our kids when they were sick. She was texting us daily with complaints that there was too much work. We clearly outlined her work resposibilities in writing before she accepted the position. Second nanny we hired via Amy's agency was caught lying about her whereabouts with our kids. Needles to say, she is no longer with us.
