They are quite busy but we were able to get fit in for our 2 day job. I was pleased to see the positive reviews. They informed me there were additional positive reviews, but Yelp removed them for some reason having to do with Yelp's computer system. I read Barbara "B's" review and it seemed pretty clear she was difficult to please. Also she evidently didn't bother to update her review or photos to reflect the additional free work JRW did to make her happy, so she doesn't sound very fair in her assessment of their work. JRW stated their contracted price would be firm and they honored that and stayed within budget. The bedroom already looks 10 times better! They used zero VOC paint, which was important to me. They assured us that if there was a need for any touch-ups or warranty work after the job is done, they will be happy to address it. I am happy with our decision to use JRW. Both of them are really cool dudes too.

I would give JRW Home Improvement a grade of D to C minus for our paint job recently completed…read more Preparation was clearly inadequate, as paint was sprayed on top of loose debris on many of our walls. The job was completed on Saturday night (that's when the crew left). On Sunday morning, we found peeling around trim, paint on multiple windows, overspray back onto trim and other structures. There is paint on all sorts of places where it shouldn't be. The stucco was not repaired, as far as I can tell. They used spray foam to repair cracks in our raised garden bed, and I fear that the same was done in the crack on the house. I fear that this paint job will not survive monsoon season due to the inadequate preparation of the surfaces. On our awnings, rivets were popped off to move the fabric. Patio lights are covered in paint. This was a careless, sloppy job. Paint was applied thickly to the trim, in one coat, attempting to cover peeling. Most of the windows and trim are cracked and peeling. After meeting with father and son this morning, their conclusion was that I was being too picky, and they thought that the house looked as good as it was possible to. Our previous paint job, seven years ago, was done properly, and cost far less. I hired them based on the reviews on Nextdoor, and because they were available on my schedule. It's going to cost a chunk of money to fix the problems that they created. They should not be working on historic homes, because they don't understand how or why to prepare surfaces for painting. Their goal is for it to look good from the street, in their words, "a Monet."

He showed up for the estimation appointment on time and answered 12 or the 15 questions we had pre-written down without me even asking, plus advising us on all the details. We were amazed at how well he knew the business and how polite and professional he was. We ended up selecting him to paint the exterior of our almost 2000 sf. home, including the stucco exterior, all wood trim, 3 metal garage doors, and block walls. His team was professional and did an amazing job! They prepped by power washing the home and going 4" to 6" below grade, moved patio furniture, masked and papered everything off to prevent overspray. Using 2 coats of Dunn Edwards paint, we also selected to have them re-sealed the roof vents, and cement roof tile caps, painted the vent pipes to match and did a wonderful job, and also cleaned up all of their work. In addition, George came by during the painting (2 days), as well as did a walk-thru once the job was completed. He had also painted two of our neighbors' homes before ours and then another one right down the street from us. George was also was on-site during the job to supervise his crew of painters. The painters worked efficiently, taped out the trim work and covered the work area meticulously, patched/prepped as needed, and painted everything thoroughly in two coats. Before contacting them, I spent $46,000 redoing the roof, thinking that was the cause. When the leaks continued, it was determined that the block walls were absorbing water and leaking through to the interior. I was referred to Arizona Painting and met with their sales representative. I made it very clear that my main goal was to stop the leaks, and I requested extra care be taken on the front portion of the building. The sales rep assured me that, after applying their sealer and paint, the building would not leak. However, after the job was completed, the building leaked again. I called the office four times with no return calls. Only after contacting Rosie on the House, who had referred me, did I receive a prompt response. Within minutes, the office called and said their commercial manager would review the job. The commercial manager did call but never followed up as promised. I reached out to him twice with no response. Again, after contacting Rosie on the House, the office quickly called to schedule a visit. When the commercial manager finally came out, he told me it wasn't his problem and that since the contract didn't specifically state the walls would not leak, they were not responsible. His attitude was dismissive, showing no empathy or concern. I asked to speak with the sales rep, but I was told he no longer works there -- which was telling. I reached out to Rosie on the House once more, and they arranged a visit from the owner. Unfortunately, the owner took the same stance -- no responsibility, no care, and no solutions. It's now been over two weeks with no further communication. The owner's final statement to me was: "I'm sorry the sales guy told you the paint and sealer would stop the leaks, but the contract doesn't say that." If the owner doesn't care, it's no surprise that the employees don't either. I am extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability, communication, and integrity from this company. Clearly after spending 46k on the roof and having leaks still, the sales guy for Arizona painting was well aware that I had major concerns about the water leaking. Its the reason I had the building sealed and painted. The owner has no care or integrity of what his sales guy say or do. Review the pics. The top cap for the wall never painted and I paid for the that. The exterior doors were never fully painted and I paid for that. The paint was so poor applied you can see the old paint. This was all pointed out by an inspector. The ROC is now handling this.

From the bidding process through completion, even as there were minor things that needed to be taken care of, they came out right away & took care of it without hesitation. They offer a 10 year warranty - Unheard of. We got 6 quotes for this job and BGB was the lowest bid. I thought their price was reasonable at the time and now that the project ended, I feel the price was an amazing value considering all they did. It is nice to be able to ask questions and get an honest, quick, accurate reply. Not like other companies. Unfortunately BGB only does exterior painting or I would hire them to redo the bad paint job on the inside of my house done by Republic West Remodeling.
