The Knockers originally rolled at the old House of Wheels Skating Rink off of Barksdale Blvd in Bossier City. There, people, rinkheads, rollerheads, whatever they may be, would load up large toting coolers full of canned beer, for these matches then, were a BYOB sitch, and they would also use their own coolers multi-purpose also for seating around the track, as they all watched the ladies roll around crashing and colliding into one another. Now, the Knockers call the Bossier Civic Center their home rink. It seems much more suitable, larger, more spacious and comfortable. Although there is no BYOB in this facility. The ladies still bring it, that is, they still bring their inner beast. And they bring it with funny monikers for themselves. Matches are $15 at the door.

They encourage interaction between the players and the fans at halftime. The atmosphere is family friendly and children under 12 (I believe) get in for free. The adults can bring in coolers of beer (no bottles) for a 5 dollar fee. The halftime entertainment this time, was a band. They were definitely loud, but good. I will definitely go to future games.

This November, Shreveport and Hirsch Coliseum will once again become hosts to a semi-professional basketball team. In the mid 1990's, the two were hosts to the Shreveport Crawdads/Storm of the Continental Basketball Association, and come the 11th month of this year, we will have the Shreveport-Bossier Mavericks of the American Basketball Association. The team is relocating from Beaumont, Texas. The ABA is the league, most notably, for playing their games with a red-white-and blue basketballs. The exhibition season begins at home in early November with the regular season lasting into March of 2014, and the ABA Final Four/Championship in April. The Mavericks come with a winning tradition in tact, having won said league titles back-to-back in 2009-2011. The team offers an entertainment value that many can afford in this area. Single game tickets are as follows: Courtside $35, Box Seats $25, General Admish Adults $12, Kids (Ages 6-12) $6, (Ages 0-3) Free. Season tickets: Courtside $500, Box $350, General Admish $150. There are 19 home games including exhibition, total. The roster will be full of local talent. They also offer a family four pack for each home game for 2 adults, 2 kids general admish tickets for $30. Parking for all home games will be FREE and tipoff will always be at 7:30 pm.
