My six year old son has a rap sheet: expelled from three day care centers, multiple meetings with…read morehis school, etc. I bring him to Eagle's one Saturday, sign up for three months, and cross my fingers... Three months later, I still cross my fingers, but now as I watch him during his belt test, to move up to yellow belt. He has been working for this, he has been learning. But as a parent, the chance that your child might face disappointment still makes one nervous. All goes well, and my son throws up a peace sign in the group photo, like this was all easy-peasy. Of course, it wasn't. He has excess amounts of energy paired with a short attention span; he can be friendly one moment, aggressive the next, or even both at the same time. Thankfully, the instructors at Eagle's TKD (special thanks to Instructor Jonathan, who teaches on Saturday when my son attends) are blessed with an endless supply of patience and positivity...and my son responded. Eagle's even allows you to attend as many sessions as you would like, but our schedule has prevented us from going more than once a week. But what it did allow was for me to observe my son in action, and then practice with him at home. When we get home, he takes on the role of instructor, eagerly showing me what he has learned. I think back to the first conversation I had with Master Andrew, when I just happened by Eagle's; I got the feeling that this establishment put the kids first and was doing things for the right reasons. The entire staff has proven to be welcoming and supportive, providing a safe space for kids to learn. Even working with students of different belt levels and skill levels, the instructors find the time to provide individualized and small group instruction when needed. As a testament to that, I see parents and students consistently attending, along with new faces. I couldn't be happier with my decision to enroll my son at Eagle's, and judging from the growing number of regulars, many other parents feel the same.

I have only praise for this school! My son had taken Tae Kwon Do at another school (not Champions),…read morebut stopped after being there for a year (since the timing didn't work for us). After hearing about Bayside Ultimate Champions' after school program, TASMA, from a classmate, he joined in earlier this year. They were willing to honor some of his previous TKD training, while having him attend the lower level classes in order to ensure he knew the syllabus. Attending their after-school program, TASMA, allowed him to take classes 5x a week, after his homework was completed. This place really has their act together, not only running a tight ship with their students and staff, but a smooth business that includes transparency. During the citywide shutdown, they kept us informed of all the latest updates with the school as soon as they knew. We really appreciated that, and it helped us parents to understand whatever struggles the dojang was going through... they never tried to hide things from us. With that in mind, many of the families rallied around the school to help the reopening. Now they have finally opened back up for outdoor classes, and limited indoor classes. They have taken many precautions with sanitizing both indoor and outdoor spaces (and hands), taking the students' temps prior to entering the dojang, and separating students with a plastic partition in between. Master Oh, Instructor Michael have been incredibly patient with my son. I have only high praise for them, as well as Instructors David & Charleston, plus Staff members Ms. Asli, Ms. Melissa, and Mr. Emmanuel (and I'm probably forgetting more names, but they are all wonderful!). Would highly recommend this school to any family considering!

Got awesome deal from Groupon $36 for 15 classes for my 4 years old daughter. She falls into the…read more3-5 years old session. 30 min each. 6 classes to choose from during the week. Pro: - You can do make up during the week without telling them ahead. Just show up. They won't turn you down. -great and enthusiastic instructors, especially leading instructor Charles. - kids are always engaged. Also emphasize in eye contacts and concentration. Con: - class size can go up to 15-20 kids in a small space but they have enough instructors/ assistants. Last two sessions I saw have 4 staff each. One session only has 8 kids so ended up 1:2 ratio. - part of the session they will divide the group. With two groups trying to yell loudly, it can be confusing and distracting for the little ones. - limited seating for parents to observe. Sometimes you walk in you don't lie where to stand so you won't block other parents. - Minus one star for small space. Conclusion: Will seriously think of joining long term after my groupon runs out. It will be about $1600 for 12 months for 2 sessions weekly. It is a great sport for kids and more importantly, I want my little girl to be able to defend herself. Tip: they often had introductory Offer on their website of Facebook. First time I see they have Groupon.
