Never again. My elderly father was treated shabbily here. Twice! He was pushed off on some inexperienced barber (who did NOT have a license, and this was verified by the business). A blind person could have given a better cut. Still, we gave the business another shot. We made an appointment with David, the owner. Yet, when we got him over there, my dad, who regularly went to him at his former location, was brushed aside and made to wait for "a regular". This review is written on Memorial Day. Don't let the American flag on the wall of this establishment fool you. My World War 2, multiple Purple Heart recipient fathers, was NOT treated with respect. Be prepared to hunt for parking and come prepared to feed the meters if you go to this place. The service is horrible as are the cuts. Treat the greatest generation better! read more

although they take walk ins, I made an appointment and was seen on time. I really like like a razor back of neck shave which they do in this shop. Very hard to find a barber that in competent with a razor and takes the time to use one for neck trim. read more

A picture is worth a thousand words, and I have posted five to show the final product. They may stand up in a court of law. As I said in my original review; not going back again. Not even to get my money back. Original Review: $75+ tip later, we got the worst haircuts ever! Uneven fades, uneven hair lengths, asked for a skin fade, and got a size one. My number 2 son asked for a low skin fade and got a high fade with a funky southside fade looking top. I would've done a better job cutting my kids' hair versus these "licensed professionals." I didn't complain because there was only one other barber available, and it seems no one wanted him to cut their hair. Cut my losses; it cost me $75 to find a place I never want to return to or recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else. Worst Haircut I ever gotten in 35 years of my life. I went there 35 minutes before they close as walk in. Not sure the so called barber David was pissed off or not; his tone was that he was not interested to give haircut. He has no clue of haircut. Wonderful, quick service! We just moved to Jefferson from Fort Worth, TX and have been looking for a new barber for my husband. Previously, we would've had to book a barber in advance and the cut would take 60+ minutes. My husband did not have an appointment, and we were able to walk in and get a haircut (single blade!) Don't know if it was my skin color or tattoos covering my arms but it was something. Came in sat for 10 mins noticed 2 chairs were open not once in that time period did any of the men address me. I got up asked if I could get my haircut man in the first chair just locked at me and went back to cleaning his station. So I left. The haircuts are great and they have friendly service. Depending when you go you might have to pay for parkin. I'm not sure if there is free parking near them. Although their website states skip the line and pay $25, that is not the case. If you make an appointment they charge you $5 more from what the owner told me over the phone when I disputed the amount charged to my card. I believe there is an additional $1.50 charge if you pay by car, so it's better to pay by cash. Other than those nuisances that the owner seems to be aware of and doesn't mind not fixing it, the haircuts there are good. Don't expect a refund of $5 because you were unaware to the owner's fault. read more

Very disappointed in quality of cut I got yesterday. I asked multiple times to keep my length of hair on top as long as possible. Showed several pics of a disconnected undercut with long top. Barber called me "bald" twice. The haircut was very poor and uneven. I had to fix the haircut when I got home. I will not come back.

Pros: Fast professional service, and I got a really nice haircut. Cons: They charged way more than the stated price on their menu and they asked me if I had head lice. WHAT?!?!? So yeah like I said, East Patrick Barber gave me a really good haircut, which is impressive because I'm the kind of person that has no idea how to ask for a good haircut. 10/10 haircut all the way! But here's the weird part. I went in, sat down in the chair, and the manager(?) came out and asked me if I had head lice. What in the world??? I've never been asked that before in my life. Oh and for the record NO, I DON'T HAVE HEAD LICE. Anyway then I get my hair cut, it looks great, and I go to pay, and I have a $20 bill. I called ahead to ask how much it cost for a men's hair cut and they said $18. I thought to myself "Perfect, I'll have a couple bucks to tip if I come with a $20 bill. Easy peasy." But then they tell me It's going to be $25 (That's an extra $7!) because I have "long hair." I haven't had a haircut in about 2 months and yeah my hair grows fast, but it wasn't THAT long. So an $18 haircut all of the sudden became a $28 haircut ($25 base + $2 tip + $1 debit card fee because I only had $20 in cash on me). Talk about sticker shock. So, in conclusion of this review which I think is a little too long. They give awesome haircuts and for the most part are polite, professional and to the point. I can't complain. I might even go back, except now I'm a little bit apprehensive that I'll get slapped with some other random charges at check out! I have been there twice. They do a good job. Check their cell phones frequently in the middle of haircuts. I haven't found the Barber Shop for me yet. Note: They Only Accept Cash. Making sure they get their cash tip. You can use their ATM for a fee of course. $12-13 hair cut, $2.50-3.50 fee, $5 tip. Actual price: $19.50-21.50. On average, credit card transaction fees on a $100 charge amount to between $2.50-3.00 (2.5-3.0%). A $13 haircut would be around $0.32-0.39. This is why you should take out $100+ at an ATM, not just the quick $20. You can also go through self checkout at a grocery store, buy a $0.25 pack of gum, and get $100+ cash back with no charge. I'm not a frugal person. I blow money left and right. I have no problem paying $20-30 for a top notch haircut or leaving a $20 Tip. read more

Update: So for some reason I kept coming back - and I'm glad I did. Whether staff shifted or I actually learned how to ask for exactly what I wanted (or both), I don't know. All I know is now I can trust to get a great haircut for an amazing price. And the barbers are amazingly nice people, too. It's a great place. Old Review: I've given this place 5 tries. Twice, I had a great experience. The other three were the exact opposite. Nice people, but horrible haircuts. One, I even had to return to have them fix. My haircuts are simple, my requests routine. And yet, some of the people here just didn't seem to be able to do the basics (even getting tips and advice from other barbers there). Maybe I've just been unlucky and gotten trainees each time?
