There is a coat rack as you go in so that you don't have to have your coat dragging on the floor or scrunched up behind you. It has a real fire which really helps the cosy atmosphere. There are seating booths which are made to look like old stable fronts with iron bars (sound hideous but they weren't). It was October when we visited and these booths were covered with lovely fairy lights. I presume these are here all year round but maybe they couldn't wait to get the deco's up. We ordered the veggie quiche, chips, onion rings, mushrooms and garlic bread. The Quiche was homemade and really delicious. The portions were huge and we struggled to finish our food and had to admit defeat. They sold a large selection of real ales of which my partner had to test of course. I visited the ladies which were clean, and no nasty pongs (worst thing ever!). All in all a really pleasant evening.

Smugglers has just started doing food so they were a bit hurried and stressed. But they did a great job. There is a wood burner which is always a bonus, helps you feel cosy. We ordered vegetarian mousaka and roast vegetable pasta. Both meals were really tasty but one weird thing was the roasted vegetable pasta had large rings of leek pretty undercooked in it. Strange, it didn't seem to go with the rest of the meal. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was good. It was pretty busy with a few looking around looking for a table. Large car park.

ATTACKED BY MEMBER OF STAFF After a verbal argument with an…read more18yr old immature barmaid, i was sitting down at the table and was attacked from behind receiving numerous injuries to my head and face, resulting in going to court being found that the employee was wrong and I was acting in self defence after I defended myself, the landlord is yet to accept this as why would he want to as it would do his business harm. Obviously his small minded opinion is beyond a court of law, Beware!!! Your entering a goldfish bowl area here... DO NOT COMPLAIN.... To many young immature self conceited teens work here. Her sister then entered the property i was staying at and tried to stab me whilst I was asleep, I was lucky to wake up and suffered injury as I caught the knife as it was thrust down towards my neck, she is awaiting sentencing. I had the whitebait which was tasty, but served with eight triangles of bread, followed by the sirloin which was OK. Should have gone for the goats cheese and beetroot salad followed by whole fish or pie. Mmmmm pies. Ringwood ales and the normal cooking and strong lagers. The outside garden had a marquee roof over it and there was a Mount Gay Rum bar and live music out there.
