From the first time I walked in the door until my hottub was delivered the staff was professional and went totally out of their way to answer every question I had. Even on hottub that I had research that was not part of THEIR inventory. This is one HONEST business. Extremely disappointed -- expensive products, poor quality, and even worse warranty support. After this experience, I understand why East Coast Leisure doesn't stand behind the products they sell. We purchased a Carvin above-ground pool with the Simple Salt system from East Coast Leisure in May 2025. The pool was delivered and installed in June 2025. We used it for roughly three months, from mid-June through September, with only four adults using the pool. We closed it properly for the winter. When we opened the pool June '26 we discovered that the skimmer had cracked. We have no idea how it happened, especially considering the limited and gentle use and disconnected hoses for winter. We had to spend $150 for a replacement skimmer. We also discovered that the copper in the Simple Salt ionizer chamber had been completely depleted after only about three months of use, requiring another $130 for a replacement chamber. Then, in July 2026, we noticed tiny streams of water spraying from the lid of the Black Diamond filter housing. Upon inspection, the lid had developed three separate micro-fractures, requiring another $60 replacement. Then came the final straw. In September 2026, less than six months of ACTUAL use after receiving the equipment, we went to turn on the pump and it was dead. We filed a warranty claim with East Coast Leisure, only to be told by their warranty department that they could not help us. To make matters worse, we received conflicting information from their own employees. One store employee told us the pump carried a two-year warranty. When we called the warranty department, we were told to contact the salesperson who sold us the pool. The salesperson then told us the warranty was only one year from the date of purchase, not date of setup. Never mind that we didn't even receive the pump until approximately a month after purchasing the pool. More importantly, the pump had been used for less than six months total when it failed. East Coast Leisure's solution? They offered to sell us another 1.5hp 2 speed pump for $400 . No thanks. We purchased one elsewhere for approximately $200. So, in less than six months of actual use, we have had to replace four major components: the skimmer, ionizer chamber, filter housing lid, and pump. ($540!!) That's an unacceptable level of failure for equipment that wasn't exactly inexpensive and was used carefully by only four adults. Based on our experience, it appears East Coast Leisure is perfectly happy to sell you the equipment, but when those products fail prematurely, don't expect them to stand behind what they sold you. Premium prices. Cheap equipment. Little to no accountability. We will never purchase another pool or pool equipment from East Coast Leisure, and I would strongly encourage anyone considering a purchase from them to research the quality of the products and, more importantly, exactly what warranty coverage you are actually getting before handing over your money. I bought my Fiberglass pool 8 years ago ( that mind you had a LIFETIME warranty) and this year when we opened our pool for this summer it had a crack at the bottom of the pool. I called and emailed the guy who installed it and the GM and they did Not help me fix my problem but wanted to refer someone to fix it. Terrible business!!! read more

I really want to give a high star rating but I can't. I have been having an issue with programing the filter cycle of hot tub but know one seems to know how to do this. I have even gone to store and was told I was on list for support team to call me and set up appointment to come to home. Let's just say I've grown a beard while waiting on that call that still hasn't occurred. read more

I just had an experience of four weeks trying to get my pool clear from excess algae and the inability to use it. my son came back yesterday and said mom I finally got a guy who knows what he's doing and hopefully and this morning I can at least see the bottom of the pool for the first time in six weeks so I hope it's on the mend! read more

This company provides Veteran's discounts, but only on purchases of under a $100. So, if you have multiple items I'd suggests making separate purchases to get your discount. $10.00 is $10.00, makes no sense why they don't do it on purchases over a $100. As far as I'm concerned it just keeps me from purchasing anything over $100.00. Not very smart considering the number of Veterans we have in Hampton Roads. read more

Let me start by saying that I think the technicians that work in the Western Branch store are all very helpful and professional. Todd, Miles, etc, have always given great customer service My problem is that when I had a problem with our salt pool (high salinity), I elevated the issue to management. I was pretty sure that it wasn't my doing, and expected some help from management. Not only did I get minimal concessions, I was pretty much told it was my fault. He did give me $100 store credit for "my inconvenience", hardly commensurate with the amount of water I've had to refill the pool (again, for something I don't think I did... But I'm a novice, so..). Then when my irrigation guys came to restart my system, the one locked dirty water into the pool. I again contacted management to see if he could help me get in touch with the contractor. His response? We don't work on, nor are we responsible for sprinklers. Not, "hey, let me get you in touch with the contractor so we can figure this out." Nothing. We won't use this company for any pool related activities once our store credit is exhausted. read more

Enjoyable and refreshing customer experience. Initially, when we called to setup a tech to come out to look at a possible leak, we got some common things to check that we could resolve ourself. These guys are not just in it for the money, they really care about their customers. When I was not able to resolve it and it appeared we would need a new part, they were able to get us a tech on-site quickly. Chad was very professional and courteous and open to answering my many questions. After he fixed the issue, he went above and beyond and since I had labeled zip locks with the screws, he also replaced the panels and lift cover that I had removed for my checks. I would absolutely recommend this team. Also, the cost was very reasonable for an on-site visit including part and plumbing replacement. read more

VERY poor customer service. Their crew installed our hot tub improperly, leaving it at risk of cracking. Now they want $250 to fix the problem. Absolutely ridiculous giving that we purchased a $10,000 item from them. They should have done it right the first time. read more

This place is AWESOME!!!!! The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They walked me through everything that I needed to do to maintain my pool myself and not waste hundreds of dollars on a pool guy. Here is a recap of our experience that resulted ion our opinion that East Coast Leisure is a RIP OFF company. The store manager lied so much we decided to record him on one of our visits to the store to try and get him to make good on a promise he made that if we put a large down payment on a pool we could get a refund anytime up to actually ordering the pool for delivery. When we confronted him about his lying, his excuse was the owner is a piece of &*%$ and said the owner made him lie to customers. In fact he admitted they NEVER give refunds for any reason.
