Update my review: I have been here countless times this past month. One of my fur babies unfortunately passed away, adopted a new cat, and my other cat had inflamed pancreas. Dr Shayda worked a 12 hr shift so many animals were coming in sick.., I was her last patient at 9pm!!! She closes at 6pm but so many animals getting ultrasounds & she stayed until all the patients were taken care of. Even though she had a VERY long day, she still sat and talked to me about my kitty health treatment plan. As soon as my sick kitty went home, he was so much better thank goodness for DR S!!! My cats are never stressed going to her!! All the staff are so caring & loving. Also, it's by far the cleanest vet ever!!! I'm so happy we found Dr S. She really cares about your fur babies....

This has been my go to hospital to get my local stray cats spayed or neutered. The first time I trapped a kitty, I was overwhelmed with lack of hospitals offering low cost TNR. Luckily I found East Chapman and they almost always squeeze me in for an appointment when I call in the morning. On top of that, the clinic is clean and staff are professional. The two ladies up front have always been kind and welcoming. I only wish it were closer to me. Thank you for offering competitive prices and helping improve the quality of these fur babies' lives.

Love this vet! My 8 year old boxer is the light of my life so I always make sure that he always has the best care if needed that doesn't break the bank. I found this vet because I live down the street and would always see it driving by. There's a vet right next door to me but their reviews weren't great and they were pricey so I decided to try East Chapman. I'm so glad I did. My dog suffers from allergies and the occasional ear infection. This place is clean, modern, staff is so nice and attentive and I never have to wait long! The veterinarian you can tell loves her job and has a passion for it. My dog has had also surgery here for little mass removals and they took such good care of him. I recommend this place to anyone!

We love East Chapman Vet Center! We became a retirement home of a local celebrity, Sunny, from the flowerdale nursery (yes, the friendly white cat). Sunny has been a long time patient of ECV and we moved our other kitty and 2 dogs to them after meeting them for our first visit with Sunny. Everyone, I mean everyone, from the front office staff to the vet techs to Dr Shayda to covering Drs in her absence, are lovely, helpful, kind, and compassionate. No one likes to go to the vet, except maybe Sunny. He is pampered and loved on the moment we arrive. He and our other animals are treated by everyone as if they are their own. I trust them to be honest, fair and guide me in making difficult decisions. In the last few months Sunny has needed to be seen quite a few times for his kidneys, and although it can be nerve wracking to spend so much time at the vet, every. single. time. I know he's getting the best care. I see some reviews mentioning long wait times, the only time I experienced this was when I needed to walk in without an appointment (and I wasn't the only worried pet parent having a stressful health situation at the same time/day) imagine having a full day of appointments but ALSO allowing walk-ins between appointments so that as a pet parent you and your lil baby get some relief the same day... I would assume there would be a wait, I know that's not ideal but that's pretty normal in an urgent non appointment situation. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. To each and every staff member for making all our babies feel loved and cared for. You are appreciated beyond measure.

Truly a one of a kind practice. Dr Shayda truly understands the insane unique needs of an English Bulldogs. Her entire team is empathetic and genuinely love the animals and their jobs!

Dr. Shayda and the staff we're amazing. Having 2 English bulldogs, Dr.Shayda made me devoted by the way she loved and truly cared for my boys. My one pup had terrible breathing problems and after he went through the procedure you can hardly notice him when sitting with him, truly added years to his life . Forever grateful

What an empathetic, caring, loving, and accommodating team they have here. Today I had to pass my beloved Paisley on to his next adventure due to rapid kidney decline, and as excruciating as it was to have to say goodbye, the staff treated me with such respect and care as I began my grieving process. Dr. Shayda, thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving Paisley and taking such delicate care of him.

This review is long overdue. I've been bringing my dog, Chelsea, to OC Veterinary for 10 years,…read moreever since I moved her down from the Bay Area. Chelsea recently passed away at 17, almost 18. She had such a long, happy life because of the care she received here. Chelsea was my baby, and I know how hard it can be to find a good vet. Pets can't talk, but you can see when they are genuinely cared for--and Chelsea got the best care at OC Veterinary. From the receptionists to the doctors, she was loved by everyone, and I am so grateful for that. Chelsea saw both Dr. Horn and, mostly, Dr. Nikki--both are exceptional veterinarians. We saw Dr. Nikki the most, and we had a very special connection with her. After Chelsea passed, Dr. Nikki even reached out to check on us, which was incredibly kind. She is practical, compassionate, and everything you could want in a vet. Chelsea also saw the groomer, Heather, who was very gentle and careful with her. Chelsea had back issues and was an older little lady, so it was comforting to know she was in safe hands. Sandra and Steve also made a big impact on Chelsea's life, especially Steve. They cared for her like she was their own family. Steve even called to check on us after Chelsea passed, which meant so much. I'm sorry this review comes so late, but I feel Chelsea would have wanted me to write it, and I want to honor her memory. No one enjoys visiting the doctor, but I am so grateful that we found such a wonderful facility to care for Chelsea. I loved her with all my heart, and after our family, OC Veterinary loved her most.

I took him to a different hospital at first, and the experience there was very poor and depressing. It felt like they were just doing business, not caring for a living being who was terrified and hurt. Three weeks later, Pepper suddenly stopped eating and began throwing up everything he tried to eat. That's when I brought him to Lee Animal Hospital. His liver had started failing, and the chances weren't good. My daughter and I went to pick him up each day during his three days of treatment, hoping he might have another miracle in him. From the beginning, Dr. Lee was clear and honest about Pepper's condition. I appreciated that more than anything. He didn't try to give me false hope or push unnecessary treatments. I never once felt like he was taking advantage of the situation -- he was simply being truthful, patient, and compassionate during an incredibly painful time. The rest of the team was kind and tried their best. Many of them were very young, but you could see they genuinely cared about Pepper and wanted to help. Even though Pepper didn't get better, I'm grateful for the integrity and care Dr. Lee showed, and for the effort the whole team put into supporting us through Pepper's final days. Pepper was a fighter -- gentle, loyal, and braver than any little dog should ever have to be. After everything he survived, he deserved honesty and compassion at the end, and that's exactly what Dr. Lee gave him. For that, I'll always be thankful.

The front desk was so friendly, they were patient, thorough, and answered all of my questions (even the slightly neurotic ones lol) The hospital is clean, spacious, and makes both you and your fur baby feel comfortable and safe (my pup was happy as a clam in the lobby as I asked my questions) First impressions really do matter because it took all of 10 minutes before I decided to schedule and book my pup's spay. Although my dog had already received the appropriate vaccinations, he needed an updated rabies vaccination and an EU-compliant microchip. The staff at Orange Pet Clinic were kind and able to assist me with everything required. Since then, I have also brought my two other dogs in for routine visits as needed. I have consistently been helped within minutes of arriving. The wait times and overall visit lengths are typically short, and the cost is relatively low compared to other veterinary clinics I have visited in Orange County, depending on the services needed. Most recently, however, I visited the clinic with a client of mine whom I had referred due to a very poor experience she had with her previous veterinarian. During this visit, her pet was taken to a different room for the exam rather than being examined in the room we were placed in. We never met or spoke with the veterinarian. Staff instead assumed that my client's relative was the owner and communicated exclusively with her (over the phone). After the examination (which we were unaware had already happened), the technician came into our exam room stating that everything was fine, the bill had already been paid, and that we were all set. When my client and I tried to bring up our concerns and ask questions about her pet's apparent pain, the technician responded a bit dismissively, insisting the pet was not in pain. She didn't really seem to want to engage in any further discussion with us, despite the fact we didn't know anything pertaining to the vet's assessment. The appointment was extremely brief, and we left with more unanswered questions and concerns than when we arrived. While the technician was not overtly rude, her approach lacked tact and professionalism. Unfortunately, because of this latest experience, I'm no longer comfortable referring my clients to this pet clinic. I typically recommend businesses only when they consistently demonstrate strong customer service, quality care, and professionalism, and when I feel confident that those I refer will be treated with kindness and respect. Unfortunately, this experience fell short of those standards, and it was disappointing--and embarrassing--that the recommendation I made to my client did not reflect the level of care I expect.

The office manager is clearly burned out and the only one that seems to be genuinely happy and caring is the Assistant Manager. There are several issues leading up to the most recent but I will stick to the most relevant one. I brought my cat in on Friday (1/2/26) to see Dr. Gouda as she was not eating, vomiting, sleeping all day, and had peed once in 48 hours. She did a UA and X-ray and stated she was constipated. They gave her fluids, and an enema. My cat continued to decline through the weekend, she was still not eating, peed once, and was not drinking fluids on her own. I brought her back on Monday (1/5) to Dr. Louka. He seemed abrupt and stated her exam is fine and the labs he ran were fine. He gave her an appetite stimulant and said she is just stressed and to give it more time. To have a cat stop eating, barely pee and not drink for over a week to just be constipated and stressed was not acceptable. My cat went from playing and running around to listless and just curling up and sitting or hiding. I took her to another doctor for a second opinion. He was very concerned and referred her to emergency services. My beautiful cat passed away the next day in the hospital from SEVERE hypotension and shock from dehydration and severe pancreatitis. I am sickened and overwhelmed with grief knowing her passing could have been avoided.

I have a senior dog who will be 15 in a few days. I've never really had any terrible experiences with the staff or the doctor, until recently. My dog was treated for a uti that he may or may not have had, but based on the doctors quick visit with my dog, he prescribed him the medicine. I contacted him about a week or so after the medicine was complete to let him know my dog was still urinating on himself and I was concerned about pancreatic issues. He told me to come in and they would conduct a urinalysis. Perfect! That was complete and I was told I would get a call with the results the following 24 hours....that call never came. I reached out to the office about a week later asking for the results and was told, "it was negative." I asked for further information bc the symptoms my dog was exhibiting didn't make sense with the negative result. No explanation. Ok, fine. Even that didn't necessarily leave a bad taste in my mouth. A few days ago I walked into the office, in tears, asking to speak to the doctor as my dog has rapidly declined and was not doing well. As I am crying and visibly distraught, three of the staff ask me "well what's wrong...is it bloodwork that he needs?" I said, "no, I want to speak to the doctor, my dog is not doing well." They continued to ask, "what exactly is it" again, as I am visibly distraught. I told them I did not feel comfortable disclosing that information as I believed it was obvious as I continued to say my dog is not doing well and I wanted to speak to the doctor. I was then told to try to email the doctor and he was not available to speak to me. As upset as I was, I did email the doctor....guess what, I never received a call or an email back. I decided I would switch to a different vet as I am in need of guidance as my dog is not doing well. I contacted the office asking for my dogs medical records to which the staff told me they would email me. I did not receive the email. I then called the following day asking for the records and was told, "I have been meaning to call you, I don't think the email went through." Well, there was no way she was "meaning to call me" bc it was already noon and they like to drill into everyone's head that between 1230-3 they are in surgeries. So, really...they weren't actually going to call me back. Anyway, she resent the email with no attachments, amazing! Forget about having compassion, they can't even send a proper email! I called, for the third time, and this time I was angry and said I needed the email as soon as possible, this was absolutely absurd. The staff then proceeded to explain that she had a full lobby of people and she would send it later, to which I cut her off and told her to not explain further, I just needed her to do her job...send the damn email, it takes two seconds and if they would have done it correctly the first time, we would not have to go back and forth on the phone. Given all of these things, I have yet to receive a simple call from the doctor himself. I would have never thought in a million years that people who work with animals would treat pet owners like this...absolutely insane. No compassion, no brain cells either. Please save yourself the money, bc this place is insanely priced, save yourself the terrible staff interactions, and find yourself and your pet a different clinic.
