I am overall pretty happy with the work done by Cody and his crew. The work involved pouring about 1100 sq ft of concrete covering both sides of my backyard and merging into my existing concrete slab in the middle of the house. Work started officially on Monday and ended exactly a week later. I was kept aware of the project status from start to finish (also helps that I am working at home during the Covid19 lock period). 3000psi concrete is used and was premixed in with fiber mesh. Contractor licensed is validated. Half way through the preparation, I was informed that some of the backyard sprinkler pipes are leaking below where the concrete will be poured. So I had to call in my gardener to rerun a new pipe so Cody's team can continue (as I didn't want any leaks after concrete is poured). That didn't delay the project. I am glad I was told about it as otherwise it would be difficult to address later. The price, schedule and work is done exactly as what it was presented since day 1. So I will look forward to doing business again if there is a need in the future to do so. I recommend Cody and his team for these types of projects. We contacted several other pool companies, and Cory's estimate was a fraction of what some of the bigger well-known Orange County pool companies quoted. One of those companies continued to remind me numerous times that you get what you pay for. That's not true. In this case, I got MUCH more than I paid for! Cory and his team filled a large pool and jacuzzi, tore out concrete and cut concrete to create a sidewalk, knocked down a cinder block fence and removed vegetation which had been growing behind it for more than 20 years. Cody told me it would be about 2 weeks to get permits from the city. After 4 weeks with an empty pool I texted him with no reply. Another week and I called him and left a message. I called the city who informed me that NO permit had been requested. Cody called me back and told me that "we are in the cue". REALLY? Then he blamed his wife saying she forgot to apply for the permit. The new guy I hired had the permit within a couple of days. My wife and I bought our house with a backyard that was completely cemented over and a driveway that was a total disaster. After breaking up half of the backyard ourselves we started getting quotes to get it hauled away. The disposal of the cement by itself ended up being much more than we had anticipated, so we had the idea to bundle the driveway remodel and removing the backyard debris to save a bit overall. Cody came in with a very reasonable quote for the driveway, and offered to finish breaking the left over cement in the backyard and disposing of everything at a price that was less than what we were quoted from other companies for just disposal! During the whole job Cody and his team made us feel very comfortable by walking us through each step of the process and asking us questions on what exactly we were looking for. We were amazed at how quickly the process was started and completed. Our final quote was done on Wednesday, and everything was finished by the end of Sunday! The price quoted was the price charged, which we are very thankful for considering this was our first time hiring a contractor. The only negative thing I could think to say is that the side of our house and driveway approach were left fairly dirty after the job was complete due to the amount of debris that had to be hauled out. But considering the quality of the work and the speed at which it was completed, I don't mind spending 5 minutes with a broom cleaning up the minor mess. Overall this was an excellent experience and we are very thankful to Cody and his team for making it that way! This review is for removal and installation of a new concrete patio at my home in Laguna Niguel. Despite all the glowing reviews for Cody and his team, I did NOT have a positive experience and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. My patio is less than a month old and it has already cracked! We purchased a deal off Angie's List and added money to the project to expand the area. The job took one week and there was Cody and one other worker. They showed up between 9:00-9:30 every day, took a 1-hour lunch and left for the day around 2:30-3:00. I think he was pissed because he couldn't get the bobcat in my backyard and he had to haul all the concrete to the front in a wheelbarrow. Cody complained about the lines at the dump to drop off the broken patio and said he took all the debris back to the dump near his house in Pomona cause it was cheaper. It took 4 days to break up and remove my 6-inch thick concrete patio. On Friday they graded the job and put the wooden forms in place. We called him that night and complained that it was too steep. Cody said the concrete truck was arriving early Saturday morning and that he would take a look at it. There was a 2 inch difference between the patio and the grass because he poured a 4-inch patio instead. Saturday morning Cody arrives at 6:30AM!!! That was the one and only time he got there early. I told him he couldn't run machinery that early. Cody made some adjustments to the grading and they started to pour the cement.That was done by a totally different company and they knew what they were doing. That is until they started to stamp the concrete. When I looked out of my bedroom window I noticed the stamping pattern was crooked. Cody's answer was that it was hard to get it straight. He never came back to remove the wooden forms even though that was in the description of work on his Angie's List deal. We had to do it and dispose of the wood ourselves. He left the job site completely and utterly dirty each night. He never covered up his tools and left them lying around along with his drink and lunch containers. He left the rebar that was removed from my old patio on my lawn the entire week. Even though I have dogs that use the backyard and they could've gotten cut on it. A totally stressful and unpleasant experience and now I have a crooked, steep (our grill rolled downhill!) and cracked patio! read more
