Our family is in the midst of our third season with Early Morning Farm, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The quality of all of the produce is always top-notch and the variety mind-boggling - just last week we were thrilled (and a bit overwhelmed) to be able to select from at least 5 different varieties of hot peppers. And with the exception of a few labor-intensive or scarce items (berries & melons, for example) quantities are limited only to what you or your family will consume over the course of the week. If larger quantities are needed for canning or the like, however, additional produce is often available for pre-order at very reasonable prices. Because we pick up our share at the Ithaca Farmers' Market, everything available for retail sale is also available to CSA members. This is in sharp contrast with the first CSA that we joined in Ithaca, which consistently offered items for sale at market that were not included in the weekly CSA share. Anton is a pleasure to deal with, always replies promptly to email and takes pains to accommodate reasonable special requests such as schedule changes for pick ups. His crew always has a smile and a kind word, and clearly take pride in their hard work. We are already fortunate to have what is arguably one of the country's best farmers' markets available to us, but our weekly shopping trip just wouldn't be the same without Early Morning. read more

This is our 2nd year as members of Early Morning Farm's CSA. We have been thrilled with the bounty that we receive each week. The flavor and freshness of the vegetables is unmatched by anything that we could find in a store. Vegetables like peppers, lettuce and tomatoes taste completely different when they have been picked that day. In addition, we are trying new vegetables like kohlrabi and fennel that we never would have tried on our own. At first, we didn't understand all the hoopla surrounding Heirloom Tomatoes but once we had a taste, we were hooked for life! It can be a challenge to use all the vegetables every week; however, we went for the Large Share again and have been having a ball, trying different recipes. Early Morning Farm encourages regular communication with its members, is extremely flexible and even suggests different ways to prepare the fresh vegetables. We have changed our eating habits and are now planning our meals around the vegetables that we receive each week. It is a win-win situation when a local farm can get the funds they need from us in advance of the season and we enjoy their fresh organic produce every week for nearly 5 months. Buy local!! I have been a CSA member of Early Morning Farm for 2 years, and it just keeps getting better. Anton and the crew at Early Morning Farm are responsive, friendly, helpful and they grow beautiful delicious vegetables that I love to eat. There is a balance in the weekly boxes with different types of veggies and herbs, well know veggies like lettuces and peppers and less know like fennel and sun chokes. It is tomato season now and I can't get enough of the lovely heirloom tomatoes. I like that there are some many pick ups available - and I easily pick mine up in a neighborhood in Auburn that I can walk to or drop by on my way from work. I highly recommend Early Morning Farm.
