I can only assume that they read my last review as we're only two months on and upgrade work is well under way at this station.
It's all a bit upside down at the mo, what with the entrance/exit at one platform being closed off due to building work (where the main ticket office is) and as a result one needs to cross the temporary bridge at the opposite end of the platform and then walk the length of the other platform just to get in/out.
However, the Oyster situation has been addressed! There are now Touch in/Touch out Oyster thingys at the entrance/exit at long last. The only awkward part being that the ticket office is closed for the building work, so one needs to climb the Steps of Woe to reach the ticket machines on the platform to top-up and then back down the Stairs of Uncertainty just to touch-in, then once more up the Staircase of Potential Wounding to catch a train. If your Oyster is prepared for travel already then you'll be fine with just the one stair ascension, unless you want a train going in the opposite direction, then up and over the temporary bridge you go.
This all sounds like a hassle but for the improvements this temporary hinderance will cause, it'll be worth it and will probably even result in a further review update from me with a four star rating! Finally the people of Earlsfield will get the four star station they've been screaming for. Well, that I've been wanting at least. And I don't even live there.
Watch this space!
To the future!
