Visited Earls for date night drinks with my fiancé, and the service is still excellent. However, if you want fast service and tip top service I would suggest you perhaps consider the dining area. Over my last few visits it's become quite apparent, the lounge area staffs are swamped with one too many things so usually you could have a question or need assistance to rectify an issue and have to wait for a long while. This is easily remedied by asking another server for assistance if yours is busy or no where to be found. It's always a pleasure to visit Earls in Grande Prairie, looking forward to many more visits. The food is hit and miss here. Some days you'll get restaurant quality food and other days you'll be left thinking " should have had ordered pizza. Earl's has always been a favorite of mine, but the quality of food has definitely declined. The staff is always polite, smiling and pleasant to deal with. The deck is fantastic for the summers. Tonight sucked. 6 of us went for a Bday dinner and wasn't impressed. Busy but service slow. Half the meals showed up 10-15 minutes before the others. My surf and turf steak tasted like liver ( that comes from microwaving from frozen) and turf which was cold tasteless shrimp on another plate and extra mushrooms which where on another plate for $50+. Horrible presentation on par with Denny's. Old Fashioned is garbage, they should taste other establishment and review their recipe. Not impressed. Never going back with a group or expensive meal. Nice location and fun environment but for $350? Should have gone somewhere else or stayed home. We have been coming to Earls for all the years they have been open. Now that they are open again after the ups and downs of the last year. We have been there four times in the last month....but have left so disappointed everytime. The calamari was the worst we have ever had - they were crummy and greasy. There was more deep fried asparagus than calamari. The wings just had a pile of hot sauce dumped over them on the plate in a puddle. The Hunan Kung po was terrible. Big chunks of veggies, very little chicken and gummy noodles. Could not eat it. The chicken wrap had chicken on one end and lettuce on the other. Terrible....could not eat it. Other friends have had the same complaints about the quality of the food. So dissatisfied!!! The service was great but they certainly have no control over the quality of food that comes out of the kitchen. read more

I've spent thousands of Dollars here over the years dining with friends, and family, and for business. I went here with my family today, including my son and his girlfriend who were visiting from Edmonton. We are all double vaccinated, all masked and had the app with valid QR codes. My wife did not have her physical drivers license: but a CLEAR photo of it on her phone; INCLUDING A PICTURE OF HER!! We were denied entry to the restaurant. Same last name, all valid vaccine records, one person with photo of license instead of physical copy.... EARLS, you have GOT to be kidding me! I will NOT be back, you will not see another dime of my money. I will be telling anyone who will listen about my experience. I fully understand there are health restrictions imposed by the government in place right now, but come on...let's use some common sense! read more

I have mixed feelings on this place. I have only been here on business lunches. The food of course is standard Earls and it is good. The service is usually fast and friendly but last time not so much. After waiting easily 20 minutes without offer for refills or the bill when done our meal, I had to flag the waitress down. The place looks fantastic. Like a cool, classy joint you'd see in the movies. Not trendy, not pretentious, just about the nicest decor this side of Hollywood. Black mullion opaque glass walls, sumptuous leather booths, oversized black metal lights with Edison bulbs (don't worry, they're led). One of the most attractive restaurant interiors in any city in North America. Service was professional and friendly. Food: Fettucini Alfredo was excellent. The pasta was cooked exactly to the second. Ever so slightly firm, not mushy. The sauce had excellent real cheese flavour - this is not a packaged sauce. It seems light on sauce when you first see it, but the sauce sticks to every noodle. They clearly didn't rinse the goodness off the noodles like so many who don't know pasta do. The sauce coated every noodle with superb, elegant sauce. Added chicken was nicely browned in bit sized pieces. Not dry, but browned for maximum flavour. Not a big portion, but plenty for a normal adult. The best Alfredo I've had. Fantastic. Was traveling recently in Grande Prairie and had a late dinner at the Earls. It was very good from the service to the Food and Drink. Earls is typically always good but I would be lying I Said i hadn't had bad service at an Earls before. My waitress was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Earls Old Fashioned and it is one of the best I've tasted. I have sampled a fair share of these drinks at different restaurants and pubs. I would give it a 9/10 I didn't know what I wanted to eat so I went with the Earls Bigger Better burger and it was very good. In the past I have made complaints about this burger because it was always too salty but they must have made a change. It was fresh, hot and really good. It was not over seasoned. The gravy for the fries was outstanding. Overall my experience was really good. I think Earls attention to detail in their food and cocktails is something that keeps patrons coming back. read more

So disappointed this afternoon, this was a place we used to frequent weekly and after a brief hiatus from this restaurant (we were taking a break due to poor service the last time we were here) we were back to give it another try. Upon entering the restaurant we were asked to wait a few moments, when the hostess returned we were taken to the dining room ( we were not asked if we wanted the lounge) . The server that approached us stated his name said he would be our server took our drink order and gave us water. He returned with drinks took our food order and thats when things went down hill. Our food arrived and never a server or other employee were found for the rest of our time, no one to express a concern with our order, no one to ask if we wanted another drink or fill our water, no one to offer us desert, no one until we tracked down a bus person to pay. He did not know where our server went, no hostess or manager around to express a concern to, just us leaving dissatisfied as we had hope to have an enjoyable afternoon at a local establishment only to feel ignored and unwanted. The are other places in Grande Prairie to spend our money at and unfortunately Earls will not be one of them. read more

Always go here for brunch with my girlfriends!! Service is always great, and so is the food. I have yet to run into a bad meal here.

Update: the service hasn't gotten much better. It was busy and the server was new, I get that. But she had no people skills whatsoever. She was abrupt and looked at me like I was insane and actually questioned me because I ordered a white wine sangria, which was on the menu. She came and eventually took our food order and everything came out as we ordered which was great. I got the steak and it came without a steak knife. I asked her if I could have one and she said "I'm just going to check on my other tables and then I'll bring that over". To which she didn't. 10 minutes later she came back and I asked again. By the time she got back with it I had 2 bites left so it wasn't even worth it. After we got our food, we sat there for about a half hour after we had eaten and weren't checked up on. She came back once after that and took our drink order and still hadn't cleared our table full of dishes. I had to ask her if she would take them and she replied verbatim "umm, I can?". As if that was an outrageous request. The service here isn't usually this awful and I love coming to earls. I just don't love coming when that's the type of service that's received. Giving 4 stars because the food is great and I've had better experiences in the past. I just needed to make note of this one so Earls can do better with who's hired. read more

I always like it at Earls. It's a nice spot in the middle of GP. Good location and now after the renovation, it looks great inside. The food is super consistent and the burgers are always the best. I feel sorry for Earls a bit with the whole Alberta Beef issue. Who would order the steak at Earls anyway with so many other great items on the menu. I just wish they would quit taking the items we like most off the menu. (teriyaki chicken and prawn pesto pizza are two examples) Anyway, it is a nice restaurant and a fun place. I really enjoyed eating at Earls today! This place has great vibes and really good food. They are currently fixing up their patio for the spring/summer and it looks like it will be really nice! Its very comfortable/vibey. There are lots of TVs at the bar, but they are able to be seen throughout the restaurant. I got the Hunan Kung Pao - ginger soy sauce, wok fried veggies and noodles, w/ peanuts. On a spicy scale of 1-10, I asked for 5. The noodles were great and it came with a ton of veggies. I added chicken and prawns, which was a good choice. It was not a ton of meat, but it was plenty. The 5 was a great spice level. It definitely had a kick, but the flavors were all still there. I would definitely get this dish again. Everything that my friends at the table had looked really good as well. One person had pizza and said it was delicious. One had a salad that looked great. The staff brought us little cinnamon doughnut balls that were amazing. It was a great experience all the way around. I'd say it's probably a staple restaurant of the area. On a business trip, I stayed at a hotel nearby an Earl's in Grande Prairie. I ordered the chicken and full rack of ribs. By the power of Greyskull they were good. The ribs were very tasty and tender and the chicken was juicy. The only complaint I have is that the chicken was a bit too spicy. If the spice were calmed down in the cooking, it would have been awesome. My server was attentive and quick. I'm afraid I don't recall her name, but she helped make the visit a great experience. read more

Meal.was great. However portion was very small as an entree. My entree a pint of beer and glass of wine with supper 60.00 and then provide a tip and leave hungry sucks. By myself sat at bar and the 2 bar tenders didn't get the hint I was there for me time and not to entertain them. Peace if mind and aupper can be most enjiyable. The 1 bar tender look like never showered in days and slept in his clothes. Was a real turn off having him serve me. Unfortunately nice atmosphere overall. But won't be returning anytime soon. Was anice amazing restaurant some time ago. But guess the renos must get paid by the customer with small.portions and expensive drinks. Sad. read more

Went to Earle's after not getting served at The Den. The service was excellent and the food is always good. Earle's is loud in the lounge but not bad in the restaurant side. earls use to be a great restaurant to go to. the atmosphere, food and service was amazing, but since covid the service has Plummished. one time, me and my friend came into the restaurant later at night and there was maybe 3 other tables and it took us almost an hour and a half to leave. we were left with empty drinks multiple times, our server walked away mid conversation while we were ordering and brought our bill and the machine over while we were still eating. i was at a loss for words. there was another time where there iPads that for whatever reason the servers need where down, and our server wouldn't serve us because she "needed it". i have talked to one of the managers or supervisors there and all he said was "thank you for your feedback" it's like they don't even care. earls is for sure not even close to my first option for a nice night out anymore. read more

Always frequent while up for work. Had night shift and couldn't drink and waitress snaps into a very rude and dismissive attitude once we order pop and water. Ignores us all night barely takes our order after two requests for menus. Sorry I am not drinking and racking up a huge tip but at least serve me. First time we went since the renovations were done. This was the best experience we have had in a restaurant in gp in a very long time. The service was perfect! Food came out amazing and timely. My mother and I were in Grand Prairie for the weekend from Edmonton. My standards may be a little high when I go to any Earl's - because I worked for them for 2 years. Being said... I'm know very well how food should look and taste, I'm very familiar with ALL the wines on the menu, and how they should taste. The seating was really awkward... we preferred the patio, they took us in - but the girl looked like she didn't know where the patio was... She walked right past a few 2 tops, and 4 tops - and sat us at a huge table seated for 8 to 10 people.... we asked if we could have a smaller table since it was just 2 of us - and she seemed confused with that. Eventually, after 5 minutes we got a table that was of proper size for us. It took about 12 minutes for our server to "grace" us... which almost took us out of happy hour menu. My mother asked about what was on the happy hour menu, and the server rudely pointed to the menu sitting on the table and said "the menu is there." Clearly, not knowing the menu. My mother ordered sangria, I ordered the 9oz 7Terraces Sauvignon blanc. What I got was the 6oz Mon Ami White blend. Again, I know this because I worked for Earls for 2 years - and was working for them at the time of this visit. I told my server I ordered the 9oz, and this wasn't the right wine, I told her what I thought it tasted like. She promptly went to take care of it - but what I received was a 9oz mish-mash of the 7Terraces mixed with the Mon Ami. Again, working for Earls at the time.. I know how things should taste. I assume the bartender just "topped" up my 6oz to 9oz - but used the wrong wine. Which, leads me to believe my server didn't tell the bartender what I said. Just said "this was supposed to be a 9oz..." but that wasn't the only issue. When food was ordered - it came out at a good time. That didn't take too long. Except we didn't have proper cutlery. No steak knife or chopsticks for our meals - and that took too long to remedy. It was plated horribly. The Dynamite Roll was cut unevenly. Some pieces were so huge I couldn't eat them. The srriracha mayo and maple unagi wasn't drizzled nicely or evenly. It was all over the sides of the board and made a huge mess. My mother had the Chili Chicken and Wontons. The sauce wasn't tossed in properly. Half was drenched, and half had none, and it was again, plated horribly. Looked like a total mess. Thankfully - everything tasted the way it should have. Which, is the only reason 2 stars are given. My server finally came to check on our food when we were almost done everything. Otherwise, I would have made mention (not wanting it remade, just mention) of the inadequate plating. It was a super disappointing evening. I'm very aware of the standards set by Earl's, and nothing was followed through during our visit. 30 second greeting, checking on drinks after a sip, checking for refills when drinks are 1/2 empty, checking on food after 1 or 2 bites, knowing the menu (happy hour and regular), making recommendations, romancing. read more

Kudos to Earl's restaurant in GP - we went there for our anniversary on the weekend, and I have to say I was worried because of all the negative reviews, BUT, the service was good, the food was literally the best we have had in GP, the servings were good and the prices reasonable! To start we had the tuna tostados - they were mind blowing it was so good!!!! I had the Jeera Curry Chicken, and it was to die for - and served beautifully! My husband had the 16oz steak with garlic mash and veggies and it was the first time in GP he has had a PERFECT steak! Our daughter had the kung pao noodle bowl and ate the entire thing which is a first!!! Our only complaint was that the waitress didn't speak very good english and we had a very difficult time understanding her throughout the night, although she was very attentive and sweet. This place is desperately in need of a makeover, both in decor and service. The furniture is so worn it appears dangerous to sit on, and nothing else has been upgraded in many years (including the menu). The appetizers we ordered tasted like they were yesterday's leftovers, and although the staff tried their best to be helpful, they were clearly in need of training. After visiting the Earl's on the U of A campus in Edmonton, it is hard to believe this restaurant belongs to the same chain! If it wasn't for the great location Earl's has in GP, I think it would be much less busy. read more

The pop has been consistently bad with an aftertaste of the smell of petroleum lubricant. Just order it and you'll taste what I mean. This has been going on for over a year now. I just never order pop or anything that has pop in it when I'm there. read more

I have never had worse service in my life for both the times I went there. The first time I went there it started not that bad got seated right away nice place. That's wear the good ended I ordered highland scotch on the rocks she came back with scotch mixed with sprite. I corrected her right away and said I asked for on the rocks see said sorry and left for 20 mins to ask me what on the rocks was I told here see said ok and left and returned with a glass majority water with one ice cube that cost me $22 we were there for an hour and a half before the waitress responded do you want your bill. Usually that would be but we came in to eat and had yet been given a menu. Then the second time last night. Got seated first drinks were quick that's it drinks were made fast as I could see them at the bar but the waitress had other plans flirting with staff I know this because it was 2 tables behind me it took an 45 mins for are second drink we order with a response that she forgot we got that response more then once the bathrooms were so bad so unsanitary. I could see customers complaining to management to switch the TV back to the sport they where watching and management just laughing before the costumer got up and left and after we said we wanted are bill it took 45 mins before we got it we didn't even drink the last round because we new it would take to long to get to the table.
