This whole experience has been amazing so far. But, the hearing part was the part I wanted, so I came here for the hearing aid. The test and my conversation with the doc made it pretty clear that yes, a hearing aid would be helpful for me. She was very knowledgeable and could answer questions about my unusual situation that I didn't know the right words to ask. Then when it came time to get the hearing aid, it was a very easy process. When it came in and I tried it out for the first time, then when I came in for the first follow up, they answered all of my questions, even before I asked them. Everyone is very kind, personable, and helpful.

Despite being confident in my decision, I was treated like a clueless child. One of the women who worked there spoke to me with condescension, and seemed highly annoyed as if I couldn't possibly understand the weight of my own choices. It felt less like a medical consultation and more like a lecture from a disapproving grandparent. What made it worse was learning that a friend of mine--barely a year older, in nearly the exact same situation--was approved and received the procedure from this same practice. The double standard was frustrating and honestly insulting. Their communication was also terrible. I tried reaching them for months and only ever got one returned call. If you're young and want a urologist who treats you like an adult and respects your autonomy, go somewhere else. But if you're fine with being patronized, and held to arbitrary standards, this is the place for you.
