Presidio Tunnel Tops is definitely the new parkland that The City deserves! This is a vast haven with lush greeneries and play areas for kids, adults and paw companions. Reservations are encouraged for larger groups with assigned picnic tables and lawn areas, otherwise, it's a first come first served basis with people setting up blankets in the well manicured grass turf. With magnificent views of the Golden Gate, Alcatraz Island, Crissy Field, Palace of Fine Arts and SF's iconic skyline, while standing on one spot. What more could you ask for? Sans marine layer of course. This park is also near the Walt Disney Family Museum for fans of the house of mouse. Helpful reminders for first time visitors. Either get early for parking or forget the adjacent lots like the French Court area and just go to the Anza Avenue, Outpost Meadow or the Crissy Field East Beach parking areas. Parking is free after 6 PM to 8 AM, so that is a plus for sunset vigils. Don't forget to pay at any of the kiosks! Plate number is mandatory. No printed receipt needed. It gets chilly and windy here so bring layers even in the summer. If you can, bring your own snacks and drinks as food truck and Il Parco offerings can get tourist trap pricey. All-Gender restrooms with communal sinks are located by the Presidio Field Station and the cafe.

Our toddler loves it. We love it coz of the views and variety of things we get to do. The outpost park is one of the best playgrounds out there. Here they are enjoying sliding / swinging/ climbing rocks and trees and walls without any plastic involved. The sand play area the hit ever single time. The local shrubbery and flowers in spring and summer, the giant green lawns with big red chairs, ones looking over golden gate and magnificent views of the city, food trucks offering variety of food all around the world, gender neutral restrooms, presidio field station for little ones to explore--- you have everything in this beautifully maintained area. It's truly one of the gems in the city. If you are visiting or bored of same four famous places consider visiting presidio. Bike, fly kite, play catch, /slide down the stone slide, enjoy views. Paid parking all around but it can be tricky. SF weather is chillier and overcast in summer ( thanks to fog), always layer up!!

Not a place to spend a lot of time (no seating nor grass for picnicking), but many cyclists, joggers, and pedestrians certainly pass by throughout the day. A nice stop if checking out the art along the Golden Mile on JFK. Tip for parking: if you park near the boathouse at Blue Heron Lake, there's a trail behind the restroom building that leads to the JFK promenade and is just a 5 minute walk to Rainbow Falls.

Early June with mild coastal temp, 50s-60s. Started up Matt Davis Trail in the foggy forest, to Pantoll Campground, to West Point Inn where we can look down to the top of the fog layer, to the Fire Lookout building at the Peak. Then we came down reverse but split off to Steep Ravine and Dip Sea trail after the campground. I've also always wanted to climb that ladder. This hike provided views of the Pacific ocean on the West as well as views of Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on the East side. I thoroughly enjoyed the cool lush forest, but actually my favorite section was the single track along the slope of the open area after the Mt Tam State Park sign.

We walked up the HUGE San Francisco hill to the park, and then the whole park is a hill. The park is beautiful, there are sidewalks throughout, a nice playground for kids, a dog park area with a fence around it, and a summit area. Near the summit there was a coffee truck, Native Twins Coffee, that was perfect to grab a coffee or matcha. The dog park was a good size, it's long and fenced in, but on the hill so if you're planning on playing fetch/catch with your dog it'll either be throwing up hill or chasing it downhill. There were some trees, so there was some shade in the area too, plus a water fountain in case your dog gets thirsty. I will say, there were dogs all over the park off leash, not just in the turfed dog area. The dogs that were off leash were well behaved, but we kept an eye on our dog (on leash) and the others around us just to be safe. The summit is really pretty with some areas to sit down and plenty of shade. The view was great, and there were groups of people there for a birthday party. The playground area also had some seating nearby and another party was happening in that area. Despite the giant hill, this was a very cute park. I'd definitely stop by again.

His knee hurts after exercising so decided not to continue. He gave me his card but the registration person said cannot share card even though he canceled and not using it. His picture showed up when I tried to sign in with the card. The facility here is also not good compared to Fitness SF. Adult membership is $91 and Senior is $81 so not much of a discount even though his is paid for by Kaiser. They have free resistance band workout every other Wednesday at the Union Square plaza at 8am. It's a free class and the instructor is nice.

Strawberry Hills gives a nice overview of the lake beneath as you walk up the hill. At the top, you get a pretty overlook of SF city. Image attached below. Definitely check out Strawberry Hills when you're in GG Park. And, if also chasing for waterfalls, definitely check out "Rainbow Falls". It is very beautiful as well.

Davidson Park is offers expansive views of the city, located 938 feet above sea level, the highest point in SF featuring a mix of eucalyptus forest. Note, there are no signage that its "Mount Davidson Park", its pretty hidden in a residential area, best is to follow your GPS map. We found a spot right next to the park and started hike up. A very quick hike up ( 9 mins) there you will see such stunning expansive views of the city skyline and the 103 foot concrete cross ( one of many photo opts here) The Cross = Sunrise Easter Cross First Service 1923. All in all, what a hidden gem, loved our quick visit to Mount Davidson, enjoyed our meal while we took in the views and even got to see variety of plant species, wildflowers, forest. Such a happy blessed moment with my love. * Note- there are no trash bins, please carry out all trash with you, I looked for a bin but didn't see any.

Those are the words from President Woodrow Wilson carved on the stone overlook. Show this to some narrow-minded people as a reminder. Located on the northwest side of the Presidio, Immigrant Point Overlook is named in honor of the immigrants who made the journey through the Golden Gate as their new home. Just imagine yourself on this spot of Yerba Buena as you saw ships sailing into this land. It has sweeping views of the Marine Headlands, Point Bonita, Mt. Tamalpais and even Pt. Reyes on a clear and glorious day. If you're hiking and biking around The Presidio, it's a great place to stop, rest and obviously enjoy the view. There's some picnic tables across the overlook to eat your lunch and relax before you continue on your journey. If you're driving, it's worth a stop and you might spot some whales and even dolphins swimming in the Pacific Ocean if you're lucky. The Presidio is filled with so many gems and nuggets, and this is certainly one of them. It's worth a stop and visit. You can take out-of-towners here and call it 'Undiscovered San Francisco' as it's certainly not a known tourist path and it's off the beaten path. But I like taking paths that are less traveled. There is basically just one trail running across it from Knockash to Edgehill streets, and a couple of benches. The views are limited a bit due to the trees, but it is still a very pretty place to walk through, especially at sunset. In fact, the entirety of Laguna Honda Hill is very scenic, and I highly recommend walking up to the top while you're here. Also, what is with those crazy shingled castle-mansions? Someday I gotta get me one of those. It seems that there is a very active volunteer group that works in Edgehill Park doing habitat restoration and I've also seen proposals for a staircase down to Kensington Way, which would be awesome!
