I have waited almost three years to write this review of where my husband and I tied the knot, and I'm glad I've saved it for my 100th review! Eagle's Point has long been a gorgeous hiking trail destination for the two of us at Lands End, where a spectacular view of the Golden Gate Bridge can be seen resting above the beautiful San Francisco Bay. Even when the fog rolls in, as it did on our wedding day, it creates such a mysterious and romantic veil over the trail. We had a small party of twenty people who stood waiting to watch us say our vows at Eagle's Point lookout, which is nicely enclosed by reddish wooden railings. Our friends and family scattered red, white, and violet rose petals on the dirt where we were to stand and become husband and wife. Getting married at sunset in October, there weren't many people around, so it was a lovely semi-private event. As I walked down one of my husband and my favorite hiking trails, in my Betsy Johnson sparkly high heels, I thought how lucky I was to be marrying the love of my life, in the city that I adore. This is a truly stunning location with unsurpassed views of the Golden Gate and the bridge. For my fiancee and me there was some confusion when reading the reviews whether Eagle's Point still has a view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the enclosed area. To clear this up, it most certainly does, although it is obscured by several trees; basically only about one half of the bridge is visible. There are numerous locations along the trail leading to the point that have stupendous views of the bridge and make outstanding locations for photographs. The point also has a breathtaking view of the western portion of the strait and out into the Pacific. Furthermore, the point is only about 50 yards from the street (important for a bride in high heels, or so I'm told) and there is ample street parking. Despite being a foggy day during our visit we have decided to have our small wedding at this location due to the amazing view and the ample locations for photos that include the Golden Gate Bridge in its entirety. read more

My bestie and I decided to have a hiking weekend, so we set off for Lands End. We weren't sure what exactly Lands End was, and kept looking for a plateau or trail head, but yelp and google maps brought us to the Lookout over the Sutra Baths. We followed the trail along the cliffs and got stunning images of the Golden Gate Bridge. We ended up choosing to go all the way to Eagle's Point, which was .7 miles from the start of Lands End trail. The walk was mild-moderate at best, with one uphill. The rest was pretty flat, even trail. Some of it was dirt, some of it was paved. All of it had stunning views of the bridge from different angles. At the end of the walk, we passed a golf course and got to Eagle's Point, which was another scenic overview, the closest one yet to the bridge. Ironically, you're just a few steps from the Presidio, but it feels like you're totally away from the city, in a nature reserve. Eagle's Point itself is a wide open view of the bridge, with a cement circle great for sitting and enjoying the view. Walking back to Lands End, you can see the famous Labyrinth or the Sutra Baths. read more

Eagle's Point is a look out point at Land's End Park. From the top of the cliff you get a beautiful view of the Bay, the Ocean, the Golden Gate and Marin. I always pictured my wedding on top of a cliff overlooking the Ocean and that's exactly what I got. We reserved this spot for our wedding ceremony back in May and it worked out beautifully. They allow up to 50 people or less. They also allow alcohol for toasting, but we served champagne the three hours that we were there. You can decorate the place as you like, but you are not allowed to attach anything to the wooden rails. I don't think you'd want to decorate too much anyway. We tied some ribbons along the stairs just to help us distinguish the party and discourage random people from wondering in. It costs $400 to reserve for 3 hours. This includes setting up and taking everything down. This is a very popular spot for weddings, so you probably want to make sure you reserve the spot way in advance. We gave ourselves 2 months to prepare (I'm very low maintenance when it comes to this things) and we were pretty lucky to get it. The wind could be a concern, but with any luck, the right time of year and enough champagne, it shouldn't be a problem. Our wedding turned out with minimal winds and lots of sunshine. :) No receptions are allowed, and there are no bathrooms. But on the upside, there is plenty of parking. The most breath-taking views of The Golden Gate Bridge can be found right here, guys. Get out your cameras and stay a while -- on a sunny day, it doesn't get much better. This little enclave at the end (or beginning, I suppose) of the trail that leads from one end to the other of Land's End is a show-stopper. Sure, you're just a few meters from the road that leads through to the Presidio, but if you get a seat on one of the benches or manage to make your way down to the beach, just tune out the sounds around you and focus on that view, you'll be lulled into a happy place. Located on the back side of the Legion of Honor on the Land's End trail, it allows people a good view of the Golden Gate bridge without being stuck in traffic. If people are daring, it also allows people a view of China Beach, if they walk across a small narrow path and stand on a ledge. read more

I've lived here for 2 years and must have been everywhere nature-like.. and yet we've missed this place. Such a find! It's beautiful. We sat on top of the rock overlooking the labyrinth.. it was a beautiful day.. wind on my face.. sound of the ocean.. and we saw dolphins and sea lions!! On a clear day, Eagle's Point offers a fantastic view of the Golden Gate Bridge. From this small, humble wooden deck, the view packs quite a punch. Clear days are hard to come by in this area though. Bring a jacket because the breeze is usually chilly and fog is the norm. Also, wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the adjacent hiking trail for more tremendous views! read more

Came here on 08/13/15, hoping to see the gorgeous LABYRINTH everyone has been talking about, but I was soooo saddened to see it GONE!!! :'( I was so disappointed...I even tried doing some "research" to find out how long the Labyrinth has been gone, but I had no luck whatsoever. I was thinking it was fairly recent, but that's just an assumption I'm throwing out there. Nonetheless, the little hike we had to Land's End was really pretty and definitely showed a beautiful view of SF's Golden Gate Bridge. Still bummed out that the Labyrinth is no longer there...... :( I honestly hope someone recreates it very very soon. If anyone knows what happened, I would like to know haha. I'm just very curious how it all disappeared & when did it disappear. I hope this yelp review informs those who are really eager to see the labyrinth, that it is no longer there anymore. However, the fact that the labyrinth is gone shouldn't stop anyone from visiting Land's End. The view is worth it. read more

Magical spot that allows a breathtaking view of the bridge if the fog isn't in. Even when it's foggy, the short trails that lead behind the lookout point, give you heart-stopping 180 degree views of the water's edge. If you're mobile, check out the tiny trails that lead to the water's edge on the other side of Eagle's Point. There's a clear beaten path that goes down a little ways with some breathtaking vantage points. If you're afraid of heights, this might not be for you, but it's not terrifying. If you're adventurous, check the mini-trail out. You'll never want to leave those lookout points. The wooden wheelchair accessible ramp on the lookout is failing. It works, but it's a little treacherous as the wood is falling apart. Based off posted signs along the trail, it appears they're going to renovate Eagle's Point anyways, so that's great they will repair/improve upon this. read more

A lot of beautiful and scenic views of the coast, nature and golden gate bridge here. However, the price you pay is a lot of stairs. It isn't that bad though as the whole hike itself is only 1.4 miles. The trail and stairs are really well maintained. You can diverge off and see the labyrinth or miles rock beach as well. Even on sunny days, it is a bit chilly because it is near the ocean. So, I would recommend a light jacket, sweats and some good running shoes. One of my favorite trails to hike in San Francisco and would recommend to everyone. read more

The view from Eagle's Point is beautiful. You can see everything. The man and I noticed that you could reserve the space for events. It didn't occur to me that people would have their wedding here, but now that I think about it, it's a really pretty spot to have your wedding. This is a beautiful landing on the edge of a cliff... but the view of the bridge is completely blocked by a big tree! You can see the bridge walking up to the landing, but not while you're on the landing. Who wants to get married on a landing that has no view when there is a view from the dirt path 5 feet to the side? Ridiculous and useless. read more

If you go to the Legion of Honor, there is a small trail hidden in the back. It is sure a beautiful walk especially on a warm day. When you arrive at the destination, just intake a fresh breathe of air and you will feel like an eagle soaring through the sky. The view from up here is amazing and you will feel like you are on top of the world!!! read more

This is a very scenic lookout point with a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Marin Headlands (at least when the fog has not rolled in). For me it serves as a great relaxing point prior to turning around during my hikes on the Lands End hiking trail (since I usually park and start at the Fort Miley parking lot on the other end). read more

Twin peaks gets a lot of attention and love on Yelp (and it sure deserves it) but Eagle's point is another FANTASTIC scenic lookout point to truly take in and appreciate how beautiful this city and area is. I love coming here to gaze at the Golden Gate bridge as well as look out at the Pacific. Sometimes you take the journey to get here and it's foggy which obviously dampers your view a bit but a lot of times I find that it looks almost amazing or just as amazing in a different way with all of the fog rolling in off the ocean- especially when you can see the top of the Golden Gate sticking up through the fog. A surreal experience that anyone in this city should take advantage of... just please don't litter! read more

Beautiful, breathtaking, fantastic place to go ... my girlfriend and I hiked the trail(s) and saw 3 container ships and a cruise ship come in to the golden gate but the highlight was a picture i took of a beautiful brown and white eagle. Got her sitting on the branch of a tree overlooking the ocean and when she took off in flight...we want to go back for the hike and view of the golden gate bridge ... but that eagle made our day-days we can't stop talking about it still read more
