E&A is about as professional and safe as you can get with an all-singles club. Advertising says…read morethis is a club to meet others for a relationship, but I have also met a bunch of really good friends and just people in general through the club. It gets me out of the house and helps stifle out some slumps of depression and social anxiety. There is a huge variety of events with no pressure to drink, find love or even socialize that much, despite it being what the club prompts you to do. If you just want to sit and listen, nobody is judgemental of that. Admission into the club is a little expensive, but despite not having a lot of money, I find that it is really worth it! You choose how much you want to spend on extras (food, drinks, etc.), which really does give a great variety. There are lots of free events and events that you get tickets at a discounted price! So far, I truly have nothing bad to say! Everyone is so friendly and nice!

I've been a member for over 2 years. When I first joined I was looking for love. I only joined for a year convinced that if I didn't meet the love of my life in that first year I would be done. The first year came and went and I met so many great people and did amazing activities that there was no hesitation in renewing my membership. My first activity was axe throwing and after that I told myself I was going to try everythin. It was fun meeting different people at different events. The people I met white water rafting were different then the people who enjoyed touring winerie. It was all fun and I grew as a person. As for finding love...that happened about 18 months in. A great friendship that grew out of the love for similar activities and great talks sitting around bonfires has resulted in me finding my person. I'm still a member, I still attend great activities that challenge me, and I have an amazing array of friends all because I took a chance and joined Events & Adventures. One of the best decisions of my life.

This was not for me. I paid my $30 membership fee, did not receive an acknowledgement, a welcome…read moreemail, nothing. But I did receive the newsletter - which consists of a list of races members did and their place in the race . I went on a group ride and they ignore new people as they talk about the latest gossip. the only way to know what is going on is to be a member of their facebook page, which is mostly the same small group of people taking "selfies while riding 20 mph", the 8 a.m. weekday swims at a lake an hour away, posts by people claiming they will do a ride with the non-small insular, constant facebooking people but then "over sleep" but later the post pictures of themselves with the small little facebook clique having done something else with that little group rather than sticking to, or at least notifying other they changed their plan. it seems most of the people active in this group are part time workers, teachers, and those who don't work at all - which means they swim, run and ride during work hours. But doesn't matter because they don't really let people know in advance if they will be biking or otherwise, then call themselves "loosely organized" -- but if that is the case, why are you charging people money? no shirt, no hello, no welcome, no water bottle, nothing. One person in the in group did comment to another on one of the few rides that full time workers can attend "if you don't get a Du Tri outfit and do the Apple Duathlon, you are an outcast." that comment was spot on. They don't even post an address, phone number, email address, or anything else on their website or anywhere else. so it seems that your money goes .... no idea where. as a final comment, trying to get in on the fb action is pointless as when they post things like, "who is interested in......" and you respond, if you aren't part of the clique, again, no acknowledgement that you even posted. the only comments they respond to are the same small clique. this club really should be called the give us your $30 and you can see pics of our amazingness club.

If I lived in the area, I'd consider navigating membership. Overall, those in my group who were not members all left impressed.

Not having to wonder what to do on Mother's Day. Or Easter. Or New Year's Eve. The Minneapolis Club just takes care of it. Brunch, more brunch (with a petting zoo), and Murph and the Magic Tones, respectively. (All that said, weekend restuarant service is typically on only special occasions.) Major use of this club is lunch during the week. People have tons of business lunches. I never have, and it's mausoleum-esque on Friday night, which I don't mind. The food is excellent. The gym has one squat rack and no deadlifting platform, but there are real weights, lots of treadmills, and it's the sort of place where your old lady can get her Pilates with wine. The pool is too warm but very clean. It's got one of the only doubles squash courts in the state. No racquetball. The locker room will make you think you're a Master of the Universe, even though you're in the Upper Midwest and decidedly upper middle class. They have an attached hotel. I use it to house my Fox-News-watching parents. When they awaken at the crack of noon, the concierge tells them how nice I am. The concierge also gets us tickets to stuff. (Fourth row at Ali Wong, sky box for the Twins, etc. ;) Lots of banquet rooms upstairs. Great for hosting lunches to grow your business. Or depositions. Lots and lots of high-end reciprocal clubs. And everyone is nice. Not Minnesota nice. Legit nice. Bottom line: This is an appropriate use of money. It's not cheap, but it's absolutely not ridiculous.
