But now, good luck even getting them to return a call. I can appreciate that we are all still in lockdown type status but given today's technology, there is no reason why people should not be able to check their messages from a far nor be able to return a phone call. Especially when it could be new business. Very frustrating; hard to find groomers for long-haired cats to begin with, but dealing with the frustration of not even being able to get an answer just piles it on.

It required a call to 911 due to the excessive bleeding and a visit to the emergency room resulting in stitches in both arms. When we reached out to the owner, she showed no concern AT ALL. We returned the puppy the next day and The Hound Lounge immediately posted the puppy for foster again knowing the dog was required to be in quarantine due to what had happened. The owner also called me a liar on Facebook and again, showed zero concern. Bad business.

I do not know how this place has any negative reviews. Dr. Sept is the most friendly pet doctor I…read morehave ever brought my pup to. Recently my dog was unable to open one of his eyes. I immediately called the vet when they opened, they were able to get me in later that day. Once I arrived Dr. Sept took my pup onto the table and gave him a full exam. He then put some dye into his eye and we were able to see he had an ulcer. Dr. Sept let me use the tools to see the ulcer for myself, explained what is was and how to treat it. My visit prior to that I brought both dogs in to get shots updated - I worked with the vet assistant, she was beyond friendly, updated their records and gave me a record book for each dog. After getting shots, Dr. Sept gave both dogs a quick exam to ensure they were happy and healthy. Dr. Sept is the only vet I will take our dogs too! So happy I found him!

I checked with Tier 1, considered by many to be the most modern and best vet practice in the area, and their estimate was $800-$2,000 less. In addition, they have numerous rehabilitative services that are available for a better recovery. I also was angered to find Bering Sea sedated my dog after he had come out of anesthesia to get an x-ray for diagnosis because he was "making too much noise." That's unacceptable. I offered to pick him up soon after he emerged from anesthesia but was told mid-afternoon was fine as I had an early afternoon lunch date. And, then they sedate him because I don't come right away. I now will be getting my vet care at Tier 1.

The day after the surgery our dog started hemorrhaging and we took her to the Pet ER for a second life-saving surgery to stop the internal bleeding. We called the clinic the morning after the ER surgery to ask questions of Dr. Jen during business hours and received no phone call back to inquire about the condition of our dog, who had been a patient of Highland since she was a puppy. Emailed the clinic to request to specifically speak with the vet who performed the spay surgery and again, the vet won't call us to discuss the condition or my questions after the trauma of almost losing our dog. Vet tech called one WEEK later to check on our dog and left a voicemail. Disappointed is an understatement. Won't be going back.

Our vet, Jennifer Tuomi, and her staff have always been kind, caring, competent, and reasonably priced. We were especially touched and grateful for the kindness that they showed us when it was time to euthanize our beloved 15 year old Lab. We never felt that this was a routine procedure for them. Instead, they showed genuine compassion towards us, which made one of the saddest days of our lives better.

Makes it tough to match their hours which requires staying an extra night in anchorage if you can't make it there by 6pm ( or skip a day of work) to make an early flight out the next morning or sit and wait in their lot for 3.5 hours (like i did today due to flight into Anchorage time just missed their 12:30pm close time) to pick up my dog to drive 3 hrs back to the peninsula. Their times make it very difficult to use them if you live out of town. Otherwise they are decent and fair priced. Just no after hours number to call - they absolutely will not work with you if you need to pick up or drop of your dog any other times between 9-12:30pm or 3-6pm nor will they answer the phone. I asked about a number in case of an emergency and was told they didn't offer that either.
