There is no competition and honestly you can tell they don't care. Employees are hard to come by and as one long time employee said...when we ask the new employees to do something they just say no...were not going to be cross trained were not doing this for the rest of our lives...period. There are a few good people left there but let me give you an overall example. I just got back from South Carolina..when I went shopping there in several stores..as I shopped employees asked me directly "can I help you find something?" may I be of service. Or, if I asked why they didnt carry something they said they would check ask management...at Country Mart you get the standard answer..our warehouse doesn't carry it, we can only get what they have or, we've asked no response from management...period. Another example is last mum sale they had about 1015 mums dead dried out in front for 99 cents marked down from 6-7 dollars..reason just to get rid of them. I asked why they didnt carry white corn year round ...Schnucks does as does Dierbergs..bu Country Mart we just dont! Or why no Organic milk, why one day ice cream at 7-8 dollars and next at 3.99. all varieties.
