The lady ( Jessica ) asked me if I have a membership of which I do not have. Apparently you need a membership to buy their returns.. and membership cost another $30. I told her I said this is ridiculous. I have to be a member and it cost money to do it. What is this? Hermes? ( more like Costco for Campers without good prices ) So I told her I'm not to pay $30 extra for something that was on your return rack. She had the audacity to say I was purchasing something the equivalent of a yard sale item since it had been a return! LOL Whoa. She did go check and see if they had any more but obviously they were sold out so I would never shop here again. It's beyond ridiculous. Plus I didn't even get a bag for my purchase. I have a good mind to return it and tell them to stick it on the return rack for their "members" .

This is a small location. There were only a handful of customers when I was here. I found the exact same items on the sale racks at very different prices. Luckily, I found a few high quality items for $10 a piece. Score! When the cashier began ringing up my finds, the sale prices were not showing up properly. A very nice and patient cashier got her manager to do some overrides so I did get the advertised sticker price. If you search the sale racks, Academy is worth it, but I do find their regularly priced items to be higher than other places and sites.

These are the type of employees that you take care of, the kind you give raises and promotions to, to show your appreciation and the benefit of hard work and being a great employee that makes your customers feel good and feel valued! There was also a guy in the camping department, I didn't get his name but he might of had dreads under his beanie but he stopped doing a project he was working to also assist me. This one isn't quit that big, but it is still full of all the name brand items that people are familiar with. They always have some good clearance racks in stock and they always give military discounts which is helpful. Mu first bike came from Sun & Ski, a mountain bike, they offer free labor when you buy your bike there, I believe they still do, it's worth asking about it. The service area is so helpful when I need help with the aging bike. A few times I've brought parts in for some simple help and they didn't even charge me for it. They even helped me find a place online to find parts that they don't carry. They do cycle their stock based on the seasons, ski items do show up in this store, but it's limited and distinct to the winter time. It's a good store and has some good staff.

I could easily find my size and I swear not a single item was wrinkled! Lauren helped me with my purchase and she was so nice! She was very friendly without being overbearing and I really appreciated her warm welcome. We chatted for a few minutes and it was like meeting a new friend! I can't wait to come back to Orvis again soon. They're dog friendly, so I'll be back with my dog next time.
