Rogier is a consummate professional! While I was initially a little hesitant because his cost for engagement photos was on the higher end, I can confidently say it was well worth it. From the start, he was incredibly responsive and never had to wait more than a few hours to hear back. I hadn't been to Acadia before and wasn't sure on the location, but Rogier made several excellent suggestions for me to research (I settled on Sand Beach). We are delighted with Eager Eye. Getting to know Rogier leading up to the wedding was fantastic. He was warm and responsive to all our inquiries (and he gave us much grace when we weren't always totally responsive ourselves). Furthermore, the FAQ that Rogier gave us detailed everything we could expect from working with him, and it was helpful to the point of answering questions I didn't even know I had. We hired Rogier and second shooter Daryn to photograph our pre-wedding bowling party and wedding day at Point Lookout in Northport, ME. It was a destination wedding for us. These guys were consummate professionals. Rogier knew just the questions to ask us before the event. He even asked us to send him casual pictures of ourselves that we like, to get a sense of "us". He was available to talk on the phone when we needed to talk, and he drove hours to meet us when we were up in Maine to scope things out before the wedding. He always responded promptly. Rogier was well prepared to shoot. He was early to our bowling night and did all he could to get the best shots- he'd already set up flashes by the time we arrived (and we were early). On wedding day he and Daryn again went the extra mile to get the best shots. Daryn scrambled over rocks to get some amazing shots of us and Rogier figured out just the right spots to shoot as the sun was very quickly setting and the light was changing. They both worked hard and were extremely committed throughout the event. Of course the most important measure is the pictures we got. They're incredible. The quality of shots is fantastic. Compared to pictures guests shot, and it's remarkable the contrast. Rogier's photos are crystal clear, uncluttered, have amazing color and contrast. They are well framed. Working with Rogier and his assistant Alexa was an absolute pleasure! He was very professional throughout; before getting to Maine, he explained how he works, asked about any of the ideas we had in our minds about photos we'd like or things we wanted to be sure he captured, told us how to best be prepared for the photos on the day and how to make everything go as smoothly as possible. He was the perfect blend of being directive as to what would make great pictures, and being unobtrusive so that I hardly even knew he was there - he was also kind, had a great sense of humor and was wonderful to work with throughout the day! We had about 84 people at our wedding, had a lot of group shots after the ceremony, and it was raining hard for part of it, and Rogier had the patience of a saint and was very effective at wrangling all the people who hadn't seen each other in a long time, getting many amazing shots. I was impressed with him throughout. He also got great shots of the venue, decorations, and all the little touches that we had, and I can't say how happy I am that he did, as often those little touches become a blur for the bride and groom on the day, so it's wonderful that we have those captured those as well. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Rogier / Eager Eye. He was friendly and attentive in the pre-sales phase. He timely answered questions, adjusted contract terms and called a couple days before the engagement to confirm. However, his post-wedding service did not match the pre-sales service, nor the terms of the agreement. He was very late in delivering photos, and even then, only delivered part of the order. When we provided feedback about some of the photos, he became defensive, then admitted to errors, then came back to being defensive. He was then very late in delivering the final album, and was unresponsive to our multiple attempts to get status updates and overall unapologetic about his lack of service. We entrusted Eager Eye to provide high quality photographs and customer service from end to end, as was represented to us, but we were deeply disappointed in Rogier. read more

Turning 60 wasn't something I was looking forward to. "Let's take some family photos to remember the week on MDI," suggested hubby oh so helpfully (??) and directed me to the link to Rogier's site. I clicked, liked what I saw, and followed up. I am really glad I did. After a session in August with Rogier, we now have a wonderful set of photos through which to remember an absolutely outstanding week together on the island. Rogier was flexible, accommodating, put all of us -- two boomers, three millennials -- at ease, photographed us as casually as we really are and in all the sub groups we had requested. He engaged our physicist son in a discussion of photo optics. He engaged our European-dwelling son and daughter-in-law with some of his own stories from Holland. And the parents? We were so glad that we chose Eager Eye Photography to document our wedding. Rogier and Jen were both incredibly professional. They came to our venue early to get an idea of where to shoot pictures and covered each of us before the ceremony. It's important to get two photographers to really capture all the details and people, especially if you are inviting more than a few dozen guests, and especially if the bride and groom are going to be in separate places before the ceremony. Rogier and Jen did a fantastic job of capturing the emotions of the day in vivid, photojournalistic detail. After the wedding, they did a perfect job of following up. They sent us 26 of the best photos just 48 hours after the wedding and had 200 more ready a week later. The rest (a total of 600+) were ready way ahead of the schedule laid out in our contract, and the number of photos was also well above our expectation. In all our in-person and long-distance interactions, Rogier and Jen were very personable, friendly, and never aggressive with us or our guests. Rogier had fun getting creative, and it is evident that his work is his passion.
