Ground stump, and cleaned up very well, by raking and lawn blowing. #2, Summer 2025: We hired them to remove two 100 ft poplar trees. HUGE trees. They took one down in pieces. The second one they were able to trim up, then drop in our backyard. Can't say enough good about these guys. Very responsive to phone calls. The crew as professional and hard working and followed up through equipment issues and completed that job. Great clean up. The subcontractor (Asplundh, Tree Expert LLC) they used had a HUGE 80 yard (?) claw truck, and took most of the wood in one trip. He was great. Absolutely no complaints, and would definitely recommend. Quotes: I've noticed that there are two types of quotes for work that you'll get in Huntsville. In May 2025 I contracted with VLC to perform some minor grading and sod replacement in my back…read moreyard. After a few delays due to weather and scheduling conflict where the work would have been completed while I was out of town, my contract was satisfied in mid July. The first day that they were on site, they did not address all areas that were originally estimated so I had to schedule them to come back out later and address what was omitted. That work was not completed until the last few days of July 2025. Within a few weeks of the work being completed, a large portion of the sod had not taken root and was obviously dormant or dead. I contacted them and a few days later someone from management came out and assessed the sod. He stated that we were headed into the dormant season and we would reassess at the beginning of the next summer. On 18 May I contacted them because the sod had still not begun to grow and still remained dead. I received an automated response stating that someone would reach out to me to discuss, but no further response was provided. I sent another email on 27 May and received the same automated response until someone showed up on 01 June. They spoke with my wife and told her that management would be in touch to discuss my issue. No one followed up with either of us after that visit. I emailed them again on 06/24 and 07/05 along with two text messages sent to their system. All of these were responded with the same automated "someone will contact you". After multiple attempts to correct the issues with the work put in place, I contacted them for a final time today and informed them of me placing this review. I also informed them that as a veteran, I wanted to support a veteran owned business and willingly paid them a higher rate for the same work. I kept this internal before posting any review because I wanted to give them an opportunity to address my concerns or even acknowledge my request. At this point however, I can no longer give them the benefit of the doubt. Please be aware when reviewing this company. It pains me to say that I cannot recommend them for any work moving forward. Should you choose to work with them, hopefully your results will be more positive. Thank you.

Unrelated to Steadfast's previous work, our home insurance company informed us we needed to remove trees to stay insured. I called steadfast and they provided excellent documentation that showed removal was not necessary. 9/25/2024 update: Real Tree Guys removed a second dead pin oak tree that was super tall! My husband…read moreplanted this oak tree about 30+ years ago and it was dangerously close to taking out our restroom and part of the master bath, and/or our deck. Especially since we had sustained and gusting winds up to 40 MPH the other day. A team of about 10 men came out, assessed the "path forward" and tied parts of the dead tree to other trees and started sawing. There was a massive crash when it came down! Honestly, it was a loud and somewhat chaotic with all the sawing, guys running around at times (making me think someone got hurt, but that was not the case, thank goodness!) For whatever reason, my husband wanted the large stump pieces, and they moved them from the tree's location near our fire pit outside. There were quite a few large pieces from the tree! The man I interacted with was very polite. They did not trash the yard with litter, and they returned with a shredder (is that the correct term?) to chip the wood for hubs to use in our garden. We felt this massive tree removal was a good value at just under 3K. We have such peace of mind now that tree is gone! The only drawbacks were in scheduling. I think they said they would come out Friday, then changed to Saturday, then said a death in the family precluded them from coming Saturday. At least they were staying in touch, though! Then, Sunday, a random guy shows up outside our back fence, saying "I'm contracted with the tree company, and I wanted to see the tree before we come out tomorrow." Because he didn't let us know he was coming by, it was off putting. I asked him his name, and he told me and said "I rang the doorbell," which was good; however, I couldn't hear it when I was on our deck. Regardless of these couple of hitches, Real Tree Guys did a great job and I appreciate their hard work!
