I've had other establishments try to bring the partscaster back to life but to no avail. I was all but ready to sell the guitar for much less than I paid for it when I heard Running Dogs Music has the veteran experience to do more than switch strings, look down the fretboard for a second and then take my money. Instead, I walked in pleading for them to help me love my guitar again. The team heard me out, and actually had me play on a guitar in the store that had a perfect setup. Not so with lessons from Bobby Dale Harris here. The cost of a 30 minute lesson is about $35 and most times if there is not another student booked after your time the lessons run over time a bit. He listened to what I want to learn to play and hit the ground running. Unlike others I've had he does teach it from a theory basics and the real difference is he hits you with the theory and then very practical why and how you use it. When it's all going over my head he can read it and says it's exposure to the material repeatedly that will cause it to fall in place trust him and we back up and see where that confusion is and go from there. I have had some real ahha moments when pieces of it do crash into place. Only two months in and I'm looking forward to the next lesson each week instead of dreading them due to confusion like before. Unlike other guitar teachers I've had he does not spend all the lesson time showing off like the last one I tried. He's the real deal but when he's knocking notes out he telling you what he's doing and how it applies to what you are working on or will be the next thing you will be working on. I can't stress enough how rare this really is. Wish I had run into him years ago. Much more organized than my YouTube confusion.... Give him a try!
