However, on Friday, November 15, my girlfriend and I stopped in to get her sister a cake to celebrate an event in her life. At the bakery counter, my overly kind girlfriend, who is full of patience and smiles, asked if the person behind the counter could write "Freedom" on the cake. Now, this young person must have been hard core serious about working in the bakery because they were so focused that they appeared to be completely angry to the point of unsurmountable rage. I knew there had to be some special reason for why this person was not being pleasant like all of the other Giant employees. Then I realized it had to be because this was no ordinary, run-of-the-mill baker. This was an artist. Someone with style whose cake icing experience rivaled the greats who have come and gone throughout time. When dealing with an artist of such caliber it can be expected for them to be "off" and distant and impolite. But that's because someone like this baker demanded a perfection only a handful of people could ever achieve. And when this person finished, they presented my girlfriend with their heartfelt, passion-fueled work. I cannot believe she purchased the cake because something like this is priceless, isn't it?

Could not visit the store and not stop by the hot bar to have a few of the garlic, Parmesan wings, and pizza. The sandwich shop makes incredible hero sandwiches. The food is incredibly delicious, the service is great. The atmosphere was quiet, just how I like it. Personally have many more favorites that only Wegman's sell that no other grocery store sells. We heard there was a stand of an old restaurant my husband used to visit in his childhood called The Brass Rail. It was there! And it is just as delicious as he remembers. It's in the middle of this amazing huge indoor Farmers Market where you can buy absolutely anything! From lemonade and pretzels to sushi and fresh fruit, you can find absolutely everything! We walked around the 5 and dime, bought some pins, ate at The Brass Rail and shopped around. The coffee stand Heffelfinger's has the most delicious flavored coffee. I bought an iced latte and two small bags to bring home, and I wish I bought more. The fruit prices seem pretty reasonably. We were also there at the end of the day and there were many reduced prices on a lot of fresh items. Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market was so much fun to walk around and to take in all of the different stands and products.
