They intentionally keep the number of students small, so every child receives plenty of individual attention. During sparring or practice sessions, the environment is always respectful and gentle--there are no overly aggressive students, which gives me great peace of mind. I also really appreciate that both boys and girls train together here. Unlike many other places where higher levels are dominated by boys, this environment feels balanced, inclusive, and encouraging for all children. The assistant instructors--both older brothers and sisters--are wonderful. They genuinely care about each child, know them by name, and treat them with patience and warmth. You can truly feel that the kids are loved and supported. This is a very safe and well-managed environment. Parents can feel comfortable stepping away to take care of other things, knowing their children are being watched carefully. If a parent is not present, children are not allowed to leave on their own. Sometimes, the owner's wife will even personally walk a child to the car, which speaks volumes about their sense of responsibility and care. They are honest, loving, and deeply committed to the children. I've seen older students who have grown up come back just to visit them, and that alone says everything--how much the kids truly love and respect their coaches. This is more than just a place to train. It feels like a community, and we are very grateful to be part of it.

Everyone here is incredibly nice, welcoming, and patient, which made a huge difference--especially in the beginning when he struggled with focus and confidence. The instructors take their time with each child and really know how to balance discipline with encouragement. Over time, my son has not only improved but now absolutely loves going. He's learned so much here--not just kicks and forms, but also respect, listening, and confidence. We're really grateful for this studio and the positive environment they've created. Highly recommend for any parent looking for a supportive taekwondo program!

There's very little oversight during classes, and it honestly feels like safety is no longer a priority. I've personally seen several kids get hurt, and what concerns me most is that the instructors don't seem to step in until after something happens. During sparring sessions, the kids are basically left to figure things out on their own with almost no guidance or supervision. For a program that's supposed to teach discipline and proper technique, it's disappointing to see how unstructured things have become. I really hoped things would improve, but after watching this happen repeatedly, I no longer feel comfortable recommending this place to any parent. Kids deserve a safe environment to learn, and unfortunately, this is no longer one of them.

My three kids had been doing taekwondo here, from when this business started in West Covina…read more(Seafood City plaza), moved to Tokyo Central plaza, then to this location next to Dominos. I did not have any comparison for other tkd center. As I was happy being here before, years after years this place is declining rapidly. From so many great instructors, down to one instructor, Rolando Lopez who are very unprofessional and lacking customer service. So many times I went there to renew or pay monthly membership (especially with so many people being scammed here), and Lopez also replied did not know when the owner, Han, would be there. At the same time, noone worked in the front desk to help parents. Rolando and Han often unprofessionally made comments "I love you, " "I hate you" to the kids. Or pretending going to hit their heads even though it was joking. If I didnt do that to my kids at home, why would I pay for them to go somewhere to be treated like that. Should had reported to the taekwondo safeguarding agency. And when I talked to the "owner" Han, he talked negatively about other tkd centers and even his previous coaches. He kept saying they all stole money from him. If they were, how could it be a repeated offence? Not to make ugly comments, I couldnt renew my kids memberships because Han never there and Lopez too head big, power hungry acted running the place but "Audrey didnt teach me how to do the venmo payments so if it didnt show up in our system your fine" comments, and verbally assaulting my children verbally stating they all going back to white belts, despite of their years of dedication. When it summer, they let the kids almost having heat stroke due to extreme heat and they were too cheap to fix their ac system. Maybe the fund got stolen again. My son black belt test cost $800 and Han did not even provide the official black belt license from Korea, the international certification. He took and scammed every pennies he could. I was able to reach out to the international korean agency and they sent my son the official black belt license/ certification but had to pay out of pocket even though Han already charged that money to me. And why Rolando Lopez as the staff there leaving 5 star reviews for this business? That was nepotism right there and just an input, when you wanted to leave a review, double correct your grammar using microsoft words or grammarly. His feedback was unrelated, poorly presented and lack of content.

He is so great with every age group. I've seen him work with children of all ages, teens, and adults - it takes great skills to be able to work with everyone. My daughter joined when she was young and had absolutely no athletic experience. She gained so much agility, strength, balance, and confidence. SK Taekwondo not only teaches taekwondo, but also the importance of responsibilities at home and school, to be humble and kind, and to have focus in all that they do. They get rewarded for doing well in school or doing something notable at home or in the community. I think that is just as valuable as learning taekwondo. My daughter has gone from not even knowing how to do one sit up to competing in a taekwondo tournament. She loves taekwondo and looks forward to achieving each belt. I hope my youngest daughter will join when she's a little older. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. I also love how the class times are divided in a way to avoid large numbers in each class. Note that the class schedule changes from time to time. There's also a Daiso next door and it actually comes in handy when you want to encourage your kid(s) after class. If you join the Black Belt Club, you can take sparring, board breaking, and weapons classes on Thursday and Friday. I highly recommend SK Taekwondo. They have become family to us.

Grand Master Tak is the best! She truly cares about all her students. Both my boys (current age 9…read moreyrs and 7.5 yrs) have been coming here for Tae Kwon Do class since July 2022 shortly after this placed opened and before the change of ownership. We continue to stay after Grand Master Tak took over the business. My older son struggles with ADHD and Grand Master Tak is always so patient with him. She constantly finds different ways to engage with him to keep him focused. She's super supportive and is very encouraging so both my boys build confidence. She always tells me " she is their Tae Kwon Do Mom" this shows me her dedication she has towards my boys all her students. My little one has always been more of the introvert and ever since attending Tae Kwon Do here, he's so much more outgoing now. He also used to get discouraged easily and would become overwhelmed with emotions and tends to give up. Since attending class here, his perseverance amazes me. He doesn't cry and give up anymore and he pushes through even when he feels things get tough. I would definitely recommend anyone who want to learn Tae Kwon Do to attend here at World TaeKwonDo Academy!
