Dr. Kadar was horrible to my son. His bedside manner was very unprofessional. His medical assistant staff was rude and condescending.

Quality service from the Dr did not quite make up for the 1.5 hour wait to see him :(

Was later billed for two co-pays that I had already paid in the office. Billing errors seem very common. Unacceptable

Dr Vorias has been our family doctor since 2005. This woman…read moreis just clearly burnt out on practicing medicine. There is no one holding her responsible for the misdiagnosis she gave me and the bad medication combination she's given to my father. In 2013 I explained a few symptoms I had to her she diagnosed me with PCOS. She printed a pamphlet telling me I would have a hard time conceiving children on my own, gain weight and grow facial hair and she sent me on my way. No blood test or ultrasounds were ordered to confirm this. For years I was terrified of not being able to have my own kids and the future was not something I looked forward to. After moving I found out from a doctor who wanted to run tests I have no a single polyp on my ovaries. I do not have PCOS. My father had a heart attack in 2022 and she's given him medications that should not me combined and giving no support to help him change his lifestyle and stay healthy. If you care about your health or your families at all- STAY AWAY FROM DONNA VORIAS!!

My wife made an appointment for an annual physical thinking that since we take our son to another IHA Pediatrics, and they do excellent work, that of course this place can handle a simple physical. My wife went to see Dr. Melissa Zimmerman. The doctor came in without a mask on and proceeded to ask my wife a series of vague questions. This led to my wife self-diagnosing her own symptoms and the doctor simply agreeing passively. Dr. Zimmerman had very little to contribute, didn't evaluate or examine her body at all, didn't look in her ears, nose or throat and didn't even bother to ask her if she was a mother, if she worked, if she was married, was sleeping well, etc. They didn't perform a blood panel or take a urine sample either. Seriously, what kind of PHYSICAL was this?! However, she was all to happy to push a flu shot "that was covered by insurance" on her before the appointment concluded. I would've forgotten to post this review except for the $139 bill we received that came past due. It came through their portal that my wife never signed up for and wasn't told to check for a balance due. It was set up for our son at the other IHA evidently. Needless to say they didn't send us a paper bill. As it was past due when it arrived my wife paid it immediately, otherwise I'd have been on the phone asking the office what exactly we were being charged for given the shoddy medical care my wife received. I'm frustrated that my wife didn't get any insight from an MD about her overall health or answers to her related questions. I'm saddened that this is the state of medicine at present, and more than anything I'm angry that this is what now passes as medical expertise. The only shiny beacon at this office was the admin staff whom my wife mentioned was very pleasant to deal with. Steer clear of IHA Brighton Family Care!

It all started with a phone call…read more.. I called Advanced Hearing of Brighton and I explained to Laura I needed a hearing test ASAP. Due to a cancelation at their office Laura was able to get me in that day. Office and front office staff: Super clean office. Laura at the the front desk was very sweet and very professional. Check-in was very easy and Laura had all my paperwork ready when I walked in. Laura explained the forms, I filled out the forms and signed everything. Hearing test with Dr. Laura: Dr. Laura spoke with me about my issues and concerns. Dr. Laura was very professional but nice (I like that in my doctors). Dr. Laura then conducted the hearing test. First impressions of booth--very clean. It was obvious the equipment is cleaned after each use. Post test with Dr. Laura: Dr. Laura explained my results. I've had hearing tests in the past. But the other doctor's have never explained the results and showed me where I fell on the charts for my hearing (or lack of hearing). Dr. Laura asked about other hearing issues I may be experiencing. Again... the other audiologists I've met with in the past have never asked questions other than what brand of hearing aid would you like? Before everything was concluded, Dr. Laura explained there was a program with my employer for hearing aids. Dr. Laura kindly explained the program, answered my questions, and filled out the paperwork for me. Will I go back: I have found a new office for life. Forget getting a Costco hearing aid, or going to Sam's Club for a test and fitting. I will be spreading the news about Advanced Hearing of Brighton. Plus, we are supporting a local office and local people. I'd give Advanced a Ten Star if I could! Footnote: There are two Laura's in the office. Dr. Laura and Laura at the front desk. Both were wonderful.

I wasn't looking to do a review for the Michigan Ear Institute, but was looking up the number for…read moremy wife and saw it was only receiving 4/5 stars? I read one review about Dr. Laroue (now retired from the MEI) and felt like I needed to set some things straight. I have been a patient of the Michigan Ear Institute for over 20 years. As a competitive high school and college swimmer, I suffered from multiple ear infections. My family doctor couldn't solve most of them and as a swimmer I didn't like to stay out of the water for many of them to fully heal. In my late 20's I started to experience significant earring loss. After being referred to the MEI, I was told the three bones holding up my ear drum had fused together and were eroding from the chronic ear infections. I had about a 45% loss in my right ear, as a high school teacher I couldn't hear my students and surgery was my best chance of getting my hearing back. Doctor Laroue was my surgeon and was fantastic throughout the entire process. He explained the process beforehand, answered hard questions and performed the complicated surgery to remove the failing bones and replace them with prosthetic bones. The recovery was hard, but I healed well. The incision was made behind the ear in the fold, it is hardly noticeable today. After bandages and packing was removed, I had my hearing tested again. I got back about 25-30% of my hearing. I was able to resume teaching and coaching without hearing problems. I was still able to swim and scuba dive. When I started to have problems again with my ear, about 15 years later, I reconnected with Doctor Laroue at the MEI. He was able to perform a second surgery on my ear to remove material that was growing behind the ear drum. I wasn't thrilled to have another surgery on my right ear, but Doctor Laroue did an excellent job removing the skin cells from the area and getting the ear back to normal. The recovery wasn't as bad as before, but my days of swimming without ear plugs are now over. I am currently seeing Dr. Zappia at the MEI for ongoing check ups and routine ear cleaning. He has been very patient with me and has also done an excellent job helping me to manage my ears/hearing. I would highly recommend the Michigan Ear Institute to anyone who needs an expert to help them solve a hearing or ear problem. Sincerely, Jeremy
