Booths has been my favourite supermarket ever since my grandmother used to take me shopping there when I was young.
The stores are nearly always comfortable to be in - and this one in Kendal, although larger than some, is no exception. There's none of the harsh disorienting lighting and confusing garish signs that make me want to turn and run away in the bigger supermarkets. There's plenty of space to move around, it's small enough to find things and the lighting is more of gentle glow here.
I like the way Booths sell local products and unusual things that you don't find in the other stores. Plus the checkout staff are usually more chilled out and friendly than in other places - even here in the middle of Kendal. It's not the place to shop for bargains though - more the place to shop for good quality items and to enjoy the experience at a relaxed pace. read more
