Finding anyone to do this is actually pretty difficult in Indy. I decided to check on Yelp to see if fabrication shops were listed. Thankfully Yelp produced some results. She was helpful and although the timeline was not workable due to time constraints from our contractor, if I need such services in the future, I will definitely check them out again!

When I arrived, no one was at the counter and it took ten minutes to track down an employee. They were suffering from "short staff" in January 2022 but eventually I found someone. I brought in two jobs for welding expertise. One was a handle from my china cabinet. The knob had been broken off my movers and needed to be tack welded back on but they were unable to help me due to the metal being "cast." The other job was an indoor metal ladder from my RV that gave access to the top bunk. It was an inch and three eighths too wide to allow the bathroom door to open all the way. I wanted the ladder made narrower which required cutting five steps from one side of the main rail and re-welded. I did not need the ladder until spring because I had no camping trips planned for the winter months. So after a couple of months had passed and my ladder was ready I found a big difference in staffing upon arriving. There were lots of employees visible. Several in the shop cutting and welding and a full time counter person to assist customers with walk in welding jobs. Their primary function here is making custom truck beds. My ladder looked awesome. It is very hard to tell it was ever modified. They had cut, welded, and painted it to look exactly like it did before I brought it in. I am totally satisfied with the job and the price at $45.

They assigned three different drivers to pick up the but then the drivers would and come back and offer $150. I called them and explained that I would not accept $150 and I will not accept anything less than what was promised at $390. So then they will make sure they get somebody at that price. I get a text message this morning saying someone will be coming to pick it up in two hours. So I called the towing company and they said they're gonna be paying me $150. So, clearly this is a scam that cash for cars is running. For Christ sake one of my brand new tires on the car is worth more than $150. Just find a local company and don't deal with cash for cars. They are just a waste of time and we'll try to scam you as well

Unfortunately I did not find the right company for my job. I then took to the internet to find a welding company that would come to me and struggled to find the right company set up properly and willing to come to me. I ran across L & N Welding with good Google reviews but nothing on Yelp. I called and the owner Nick came to my rescue. My job was pretty small and thin iron compared to his normal jobs so he even took the time to modify the equipment he carried on his truck to make sure he had the right equipment for the task I needed completed. All this with what I consider pretty reasonable pricing for welding remotely in 0 dog weather. I will be using Nick's services again.

Let me introduce you to Ahmed and his son who own Midwest Motors in Indianapolis Indiana. I bought a used 2015 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor via Carfax. A gamble for sure . Not only is it risky buying a used cop car with a 100k on the ODO, but Carfax in general presents a risk . All that coupled with the transaction being out of state, requiring a 3 rd party delivery service. I gambled, and I won big time. However, I had maximum rated reviews to go on for Midwest motors . They had a stellar reputation. They treat every customer like family . I could not be more thrilled with my new( to me) vehicle . The mikes put on the vehicle were gently applied. The savings on the price was outstanding . I can eat off the engine ( small block lol) . If you want to get hooked up,they should be on top of your dealer list no matter where you are in the US. If anyone has any questions about the super simple process of dealing with MWM, give me Message on this plat, and I'll hit you back . I feel like I owe them something for such a blessed transaction.
