Years ago my former employer always used Ruben's for our office. I know the person in charge of the office did the research and due diligence to find the right people. So automatically I had that trust. When I got my own place and needed help fixing things from time to time it was a no brainer of whom to call. I will say over the years Ruben's has given nothing but excellent service and very timely. I usually run into needing them about once a year. Another +1 in the trust category for me is when my garbage disposal wasn't working. Literally in minutes they had it up and running, on top of it, they showed me how to fix it if it happened again (a trick I have used repeatedly) b/c they would feel bad charging me a service fee for a quick fix. That just goes to show customer is valued over income. The last example I have was today. I decided to surprise my wife by installing a new kitchen faucet for Christmas. Everything went smoothly with taking the old one out, putting the new one in... everything except I couldn't hook the water lines to the water source. I talked to my buddy who told me what I needed to do and it was beyond my knowledge or comfort zone. I called Ruben's at a very busy time and explained to them my situation and how my wife might kill me if I don't get this up and running ASAP. Less than 4 hours later they managed to squeeze me in and were at my door. Less than an hour after that they were all finished and I am alive and well. Communication at the start was solid, and they came out to assess the project and review the setup. There were a couple of scheduling changes along the way, and at one point communication dropped off, which created some uncertainty on timing. That said, they ultimately came through and completed the shed, and the final result turned out great. I'd recommend them for the quality of work, but I do think there's an opportunity to improve consistency with scheduling and communication. If that piece gets tightened up, this would easily be a 5-star experience.
