The left hand and right hand do not know what they are doing. The branch manager will promise to call and update you, it's all words. Would not recommend this bank to anyone. I closed my accounts. Horrible experience. If you deposit checks, be precautionary for a "account review" to have big brother look behind your activities. You may not be doing anything wrong. They are looking for potential wrong. In the end, those random account review I was educated take 10-14 business days while checks are frozen and funds on hold. Since HECO sold the bank due to lack of funds needed to keep a float, they are not as friendly anymore. Very much a I don't care attitude. Not sure if they will last since selling out. I opened a mainland bank. I have 4 other homes in the mainland, I paid my home taxes, my car registration and had enough to cover everything! Yet they will play games with the process. I'm letting everyone know this isn't the same ASB prior to the sale from HECO. I was a AVP/Branch manager for over 16 years at BofA, this blew my mind, they chose to put the cart before the horse. no return calls back for anything!

I'm a reasonable person and rarely complain on these things but I actually was…read moremotivated enough to get on here JUST TO SAY: -the app and website feel like they're from the 90s (I've called quite a few times and seems like all the employees are over 50) -I once was stranded in another city with only one credit card upon which I made a $900 payment on FROM my HFFCU account. These guys froze the payment for nine days because "the payment was too big" so it went into some security freeze thing. I had to spend a couple hours on the phone with them getting transferred around -fast-forward a couple years and I've tried to get two measly little $5000 loans from them, with 750 credit score and income verification for the last full year. they denied because they wanted TWO FULL YEARS. (really Wendy?) - oh also good luck with their weird versions of a "savings" and a "checking" account. They call it "draft"and "shared draft" which always caused major confusion and even the employees admitted that people had struggles with it when it comes to moving money around. Another sign that they have probably some 64-year-old guy named Gary running the website/user interface. I have relationships with five other banks and they all are way better than this one (even Bank of America, which is known to suck pretty bad) "credit unions are better"they say... Not this one.
