With 100 people, it was hot. I tried to cool the space by propping the door. Communication with the owner was seamless and mostly via email, and the venue was set up exactly as requested. The suite was perfect it was decorated nicely and spacious. The on suite bathroom was convenient for both the kitchen staff and those using the suite. Parking lot only has 25 spots. There is street parking available, but don't park in front of the houses. The homeowners will complain. The church next door is open for parking as well. Outside of cooling issues and parking and location, it was the perfect space to host a baby shower.

I have been to the Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park twice. About a decade or so apart. Both…read moreexperiences have been awesome at this unique event. To start things off, I will say that I have a deep appreciation for the arts. I've been to many museums of fine arts and museums of modern art in one day. This is one way to show appreciation to local and less well known artists who are quite talented. On my most recent visit, I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon around 4 p.m. with my former boss. He found out that parking is far enough from the festival that they have a shuttle to take you there. We opted to Uber instead. Tickets are $20 per person for adults if you pay cash (and a few dollars extra if you pay by card). From there, there are 100, if not more, artists who have booths set up. They are there selling their art, and you'll see a great variety of different styles and painting techniques. Beyond painting, you'll also see sculptures, photography, furniture, and various knick-knacks. The price range can be anywhere from thousands of dollars to quite affordable. Many of the artists are quite friendly and will tell their stories to you. Once you need a break from the art, there's a good variety of food trucks and food stands to choose from. BBQ, Mexican, Indian, pizza, popular food trucks like The Waffle Bus, and more. I had a brisket quesadilla from the BBQ spot. There are also many beverage options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, to quench your thirst. I had a cherry limeade. We spent about 2.5 hours at the festival and I didn't go home empty-handed. I found an artists who does drawings of famous Houston landmarks, restaurants and bars. He was selling three drawings for $50 and I had my choice from 40-50 or so different options. I went with the Houston Rodeo, River Oaks Theatre, and Buc-ee's. I love the opportunity to support local. Bayou City Art Festival takes place over multiple days. Whether you're in the market to buy some art, or you'd just like to appreciate the talent of a collective group of artists, you'll have a great time either way.

My girlfriend and I went to the Harry Potter Yule Ball at this venue…read more It was our first time here so we were blown away. The Harry Potter-ness was great but the venue on its own is so nice. Classic castle vibes. So many amazing photo locations. We will definitely consider this place whenever we decide to tie the knot one day. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHOTOS HERE…read more The owner himself said that he DID NOT CARE that I write a negative review so here it is :) Our experience with this venue was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We booked Paraiso Maravilla for a quinceañera photoshoot, and the male venue owner, Soahail, was extremely rude, and unprofessional. We were specifically told that someone would be waiting at the door to greet us and escort us to our suite to get dressed 20 mins ahead of our scheduled session. When we arrived, no one was there. Another family was still taking photos, so we had to go upstairs ourselves to find Soahail and ask whether we could access the suite. Because of this, we started our 1 hour session approximately 15 minutes late. During the final portion of our scheduled time, Soahail began following us around and repeatedly monitoring us. With approximately 10 minutes remaining in our paid session, another family entered and occupied the area where we needed to take our final photos. Rather than allowing us to finish the session we had paid for especially considering that we had already lost 15 minutes due to the delayed start he told us that our time was over and that we needed to leave. When we tried to take one final pose, he became extremely angry and confrontational and kicked us out, he literally chased us out. We were rushed and disrespected. The entire experience turned sour and took away from what should have been a special quinceañera photoshoot. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this venue for photoshoots. He told us he was "losing money" by allowing us to stay just five extra minutes. As a paying customer, I found that extremely rude. A little kindness and flexibility could have completely changed this review. Instead, we were rushed out and left feeling like our business wasn't valued. If he's worried about losing money, he should consider how treating customers this way may ultimately cause him to lose business.

Parking was a nightmare, it has a one way in, one way out with not that much room for parking. Leaving you to block people in & get blocked in.
